Salutations, everyone! Did anyone else find- um. All this, this morning?

[Penny gestures at the mass of decorations behind her, just in case there's any uncertainty about what 'this' entails.]

I mean I'm guessing this is because of that announcement a few days ago, but- I'm not complaining, I just wanted to make sure this wasn't just a really weird burglar or something. Or a reverse-burglar, I guess? Since they left stuff but didn't take it.

[Look there's been weirder stuff that's happened here, it's a possibility.]

Oh, and one other thing.

[The camera turns towards her door for a second - or more accurately, the Pawniard peeking out from around the frame. It stares at the camera for just a moment before vanishing, scuttling off somewhere out of sight.]

I was wondering if anyone had any advice about Pokemon that just kind of seem scared all the time? Scarlet was- I found her during the prom thing. I've been trying to give her space and let her adjust, but I've never had a Pokemon that was this skittish, is there anything else I should be doing?

How, uh... How scared and skittish are we talking? One of mine was really jumpy when I first got her months ago, but she's a lot better now.

She's been hiding a lot and won't really come near people.

She's a little better around other Pokémon, but she still gets startled pretty easily.

I think treats is a good way to start. Freja - the one I have that was jumpy, she was terrified of strangers and any Pokemon that was bigger than her. She warmed up to the people I was traveling with at her own pace and I think the treats and food they had helped her realize that they weren't bad people.

She's... still a little wary sometimes, but she acts more aloof now than anything.

It's not unusual to find yourself just gifted with stuff. Especially TMs and eggs. Usually it's been around holidays so...

I remember the first Christmas I was here, everyone got a TM!

[She's gotten a lot of good use out of that TM.]

It's usually not quite this much, either.

One year I think it was... But that was only one year. This does feel like a lot more than what we normally get.

Um- a bunch of TMs and an egg and some candy, it looks like? Yes.

I checked some of the rest of the house, it looks like the decorations are kind of everywhere too.

Yeah, I think I... Oh, could you hang on for a second, please?

[Because she's just going to... shut off her feed for a moment. Wow, rude Rakka. But in actuality, she's gathering up her basket of Many Things and making her way to Penny's room. Though, to be more accurate, Rakka's carrying her new egg, while her Cubone, Ratoru is intent on bringing along the basket. He's a strong little guy, it's no problem!!]

Penny? [Rakka answers the door with... more tinsel in her hair then she first appeared to have. The hallways aren't safe it seems.] Can I come in?

It's normal. Creepy and alarming, but normal. Maybe there's a Pokémon therapist out there that could help your Scarlet?

Normally I might try asking one of my Psychic types for help, but... Scarlet's part Dark-type.

Yeah, that does complicate matters. Since their immunity is innate, I don't think Dark-types can decide to allow a specific Psychic-type to poke around their head. Would make things easier, though.

I found something similar this morning, yes. [Although...] Did you receive an egg as well?

As for skittish Pokemon, I've raised a couple. The best you can do for her is be patient. Don't force her into a situation she's uncomfortable with, and let her approach you and other Pokemon at her own leisure. She may make friends with other reserved personalities first -- mine were certainly most relaxed when together.

Oh, yes.

[She takes a second to reach behind her, then holds up the egg in question. It's been wrapped in a blanket, and when she sets it down in her lap, a Vulpix pads quietly into view and joins it, tails curling around the egg.]

She does seem to get along better with the other Pokémon. I don't know if I'd say any of them are friends, yet. ...Do you think I should feed her separately from the rest, or would that just make it worse?

I see. I didn't think my Pokemon had gotten up to anything... Though I suppose it could be coincidence. [Maker, he hopes not. The first time was surprising enough.

Though he does smile a bit at the sight of the Vulpix, odd as the Fire type is to him.]

That depends on her, I suppose. Gauge how she and the others interact in that sort of setting. If there seem to be any disturbances, you can always play it safe and try to socialize them again later.

I was wondering the same thing. I woke up this morning and our hotel room was full of stuff we definitely didn't have before.

And eggs. One for each of us.

This kind of thing has happened before, but. Usually not so much at once.

[As ridiculously common as it was for the children living in this house to simply text each other while rooms apart whenever someone made a post on the network, Jane decides not to in this case. There's tinsel and that plasticy Easter grass in her hair, and two Pokemon follow close behind her - Dinah, cradling Jane's new egg, and Dart, who makes himself comfortable and stares over towards where he saw the Pawniard hide in the video. Looks like someone wants to reach out to his species, if need be.]

Very funny, isn't it? These reverse-burgalers, I mean. I don't think I've ever met an intruder who wanted to so exuberantly decorate my bed.

[There's decorations all over the place in there. Her prankster's gambit is so confused right now.]

I know! I thought maybe it was some kind of prank, but. These are just nice gifts, confusingly delivered.

Maybe it does have something to do with that announcement - though I'd think it'd be more obvious who the senders were, if it was the Elite Four. They...seem like the type to make sure their name is plastered and authenticated on everything they do.

I certainly found a lot of stuff waiting for me when I got back as well. I'm surprised they delivered all of this loot.

It's like Christmas, only in April.

It is pretty Christmassy! The confetti seems more like Valentine's Day, though... which is closer, but still pretty late. Or early, I guess. Really early.

[At least one person in Homestuck Haüs isn't happy with the new decorations, like this is any surprise at all. He's prowling around and muttering imprecations to himself when he stumbles across Penny, and he levels a half-hearted glare at her before turning a much more heated one at fucking confetti.]

I say we gather it all in a pile and burn it.

...is that some kind of troll tradition, or do you just not like it? Because that seems like a little much.
