[When the video comes into view, it's a shaky closeup of a woman's face. She's peering into the camera, poking at it before giving up and setting it aside. Naltryd has no idea what this device is or what it's for, so she's completely ignorant that others are seeing any of this.
The person in view is a tall, muscular woman, clad in light armor and looking incredibly lost. In front of her sits a Growlithe who is staring right back at her, head tilted as if he's just as confused as she is. And perhaps he is.]
I wake up in a strange bed, get ushered out of a house by a strange woman, and now...you. What is this ball from whence you came?
[She takes out a pokéball from her pocket, glancing between it and the dog like creature in front of her.]
More importantly, where am I? ...I don't suppose you could tell me, could you?
[She doesn't get much more than a confused little whine in response.]
Perfect.

video - BLANKET SPOILER WARNING FOR 3.0 ONWARDS
Of all the people he'd never expected to see again, Naltryd - his Warrior of Light - was one of them.
Right. He can do this. Making sure his face didn't show his fear, his sadness, his... state, Haurchefant spoke. ]
...The device you projected onto is a Linkpearl, but with extra features...
[ He doesn't know how to say it. That he's here, that this is real and he's been here for a while and damnit... damnit. ]
no subject
There's no mistaking whose face she's seeing. She would never and will never forget it.]
...Haurchefant...?
no subject
[ There's a pause. Perhaps another hadn't told her this was a new land. But no, he needed to say it. ]
It can bring dead [ the word he hates saying, the word which makes his lip tremble and his eyes seem to dull the slightest bit ] and alive both, into a new adventure.
no subject
This cannot be. You--this is a dream, this must be.
[Another torturous dream that leaves her chest aching when she wakes.]
no subject
So that you can see-- it's no dream. [ He's alive again. He carries scars of that time, he can feel pain and hurt and he wants to just-- he wants to hold her and show her everything. He shakes his head, meekly. ]
...I know not why it chose me.
no subject
She doesn't know if she can ever forgive that.]
I've managed this long. What is three days to see this proof for myself?
[But even if he isn't at her side, this is his face, his voice. Not a trick of the Ascians. At least, she truly hopes not. Even for them, it would be cruel.]
no subject
[ ...Is Haurchefant crying a little? His eyes are teary. ]
By the Fury... I never thought we'd talk again. But these are not Her Halls...
no subject
How does a world like this exist, where you...
[Where you live.]
no subject
...If I am honest, dear Naltryd? I care not why. I live - though there are no other Eorzeans. And they have such odd names for Hyurs. Human.
[ He's been called a weird human a few times by NPCs okay ]
no subject
If this is a dream, then let me linger in it long enough to see you in front of me.
[She wipes away a tear from the corner of her eye. As if sensing distress, the Growlithe near her trots up to her and nudges her leg. She looks over and can't help but smile.]
Such an odd creature.
no subject
[ He says, his eyes softening. They can focus on other things. He moves his camera and... there's a Sliggoo, sort of looking towards the window. ]
There are many creatures in this land, and I dare say she is one of the queerest.
no subject
Was she inside one of those odd little balls too?
[For now, she'll focus on the conversation about this place and these creatures. Better that than to focus too hard on seeing the dead.]
no subject
She began as a smaller beast, however - for these strange beasts can change though training!
no subject
[Her Growlithe barks as if to confirm the statement. She wonders if he can actually understand her.]
no subject
[ He pauses, and then grins a little. ]
...The boat ride is three days, and that was my first time seeing the seas. It was splendid! They pamper you! And this land has horses of fire and lightning both! [ he is /hknight-ing. ]
no subject
[But this is not there, is it now?]
You really have not seen the seas before? Oh, if only I could have shown you Costa del Sol...
[No. No thinking about those regrets now.]
Fire and lightning horses? How... Oh, I really have to see this for myself!
no subject
[ He trails off, it doesn't matter now of course it doesn't he's dead he won't be able to do any of that. ]
Of course I shall show you - they are but some of my beasts! Though I can only carry six with me when on the road. When out on fields, that is the law. But I shall try and choose six which show the splendor of this land - there are even some who perfectly counter Dravanians!
...But for once, I do not want to counter all of them. For dear Huguette is classified as one.
no subject
[Oh, Naltryd, you're in for some fun.]
no subject
...And I still know not if these Dravanians still wish to fight us.
no subject
[And Haurchefant, you're in for a fun tale.]
...but here? Is there strife in this land as well?
no subject
[ He says, quietly. ]
Last month - oh, last month was splendid at first. There was a gathering at the mansion of the Elite of this land. But it was a trap from Team Rocket - a gang of thieves. They hold no weapons, however, and... were driven away. They still linger.
...But they... seem not to be deadly.
no subject
[To say the least.]

Who...are you? Are you inside of that as this creature was inside of a ball?
no subject
And I'm not inside, no, I'm speaking to you through a similar device I have in my own possession, which is exchanging my words and yours with the one you have.
no subject
[New unearthed Allagn technology, perhaps?]

How much do you know about this place, so far?
no subject

If you've just arrived, it can be quite confusing indeed. If you're interested, I've put together something of an introduction of sorts that covers many of the basic points, actually.
*he'll send the link just in case; the post it brings up comes in both a video and text format, too*

My sincere thanks. That does seem a lot to go through, but I daresay it should answer many of my questions.

[Cissnei smiles, tilting her camera to show her own Growlithe who yawns widely at the camera.]
That one you have is called a Growlithe, to be specific.
