So anyone know what a Celebi is? Prompto and I passed some people that were talking about it--apparently someone saw it somewhere?

Is it one of those legendary Pokemon or something?

[There's a pause as he chews on the inside of his cheek.]

Team Rocket's not going to try and capture that one to, is it?

Yeah that definitely sounds like the Astrals where I'm from. I forged a pact with them to stop what the Empire is doing--I can only call on Titan and Ramuh so far, though.

Summoning Titan and Ramuh is an excellent start. Barring moments of great distress, my friend Rydia could only call upon Chocobo at first. Titan she could call if sufficiently upset, but the others came later.

[Granted, she was only seven at the time, but still.]

Thankfully, her previous stay in this world has proven that the bond between summoner and summoned is not truly cut but our temporary dimensional displacement. You should not have to forge those pacts over again.

...Wait she could summon a chocobo? Don't they just come when you call them where you're from?

Good. That's..really good to know, actually. I'm going to need their help when I finally do get back home.

A wild chocobo caught in a forest might not have the instinct or strength necessary to take part in a battle. There's no such risk with a Chocobo eidolon.

[Not that it's particularly strong even with the necessary instinct.]

Facing a whole country does necessitate great power. I hope the Astrals you'll meet will suffice to complete your task, for your sake.

Our chocobos would help in battle after they got to know us. Sometimes they'd attack, other times they'd use a spell or something to buff us.

Yeah color doesn't matter for ours. If they like you enough they'll come into battle to help.

Yeah they're definitely easier to handle when you bribe them. Mine back home loves to curl up by the fire with us and pick at whatever it is Ignis makes for dinner.

...I do hope he's willing to pick at it when it's not on your plate. That would not be the best habit to encourage.

He's not as bad as Gladio's chocobo could be so I guess that's a perk, right?

I suppose so, though I now wonder how badly spoiled a chocobo can be. Even so, a part of me is afraid of the answer...

Sounds like my Snorlax, honestly.

...Snorlax don't have the feathers to groom and hopefully not the smell, but the comparison is otherwise terrifyingly accurate.
