Afternoon, Johto. York here, bringing you another summer weekday post from the middle of beautiful Goldenrod City.

[York's made-for-radio voice sounds as friendly as usual, but his first topic is more serious than is his wont, on the PokéConnect.]

I'm seeing a lot of new faces this month, and it looks like some of the old familiar stand-bys have left. All that change is enough to shake up anybody, so I just wanted to remind everyone that someone put something together where people can chat with someone anonymously to get things off their chest they wouldn't want to share in person. The benefit's that you can contact that anonymous volunteer a second time without giving yourself away. Pretty cool, right? I'll share a link at the end of this.

[Now he brightens.]

In other news, now that it looks like things are finally coming back together, I figured I'd do my part and breed another batch of eggs for everyone. I'm gonna do it a liiiiittle differently this time, though: Outta the following eggs, which would you most like to see? [He leans back and starts counting on his fingers.] I can do Elgyem, Abra, Shinx, Ducklett, Pidove, Dedenne, Buizel, Sneasel, Deerling, Munna, anddddd Pawniard, but not all at once, and not all of 'em might turn out with great moves. On the other hand, there'd be a couple chances for a shiny hatchling--that's an alternate coloring, for you new folks--with the right breeding pairs.

[He spreads his arms and shrugs.]

As usual, newcomers can have one egg to take home free, though I've put my seasonal Snubbull deal on hold for a while till everything's totally rebuilt. Baseball games'll be resuming shortly, though, so if you're in the area, come on up and show some Granbull pride at the stadium, okay?

[A little later, a text goes out with a link to EXCH△NGE, which is totally not run by anyone York knows, no sirree.]

Well, I didn't forbid it, but I guess I gotta ask why? Why you'd want to vote if you weren't interested in the end product, that is.

Although, more honestly, I wonder if we couldn’t get more people interested in the less popular Pokemon. You’ll see Shinx and Dedenne all over, but ones like Elgyem, not so much.

Munna are always a good idea... I need to breed some more myself. And I'm voting for Ducklett, but I'm biased.

Biased votes are the only votes, really. All right, a vote for Ducklett. That'll probably mean Pidove eggs, too.

[He rubs his chin thoughtfully.]

It'll be good to spread Ducklett around, too, since I think they learn both Surf and Fly. Just in case something like this past month happens again.

[He's definitely not poke-googling all of these on his dex.] Abra's the little one, likes to disappear the second you lay eyes on it? Is that one good for...stuff?

Man, is it good to give newbies an egg if they don't know what the fuck is even going on anyway?

Abra itself can be difficult to work with at first since it prefers to bail on most fights, but once it evolves, it's a real solid Psychic-type, good for clearing out your physically tough customers.

As for newbies...

[York shrugs.]

Some folks, a little responsibility settles 'em down. Carolina and North, they're like that. Besides, it's good to build up firepower early on, makes people feel safer.

If it runs off, how does it train? I guess I could always have it practice its attacks on like...a dummy or something.

Psh, all I had on me was Andy. Not an easy guy to train, lemmie tell you. ...I think he thinks he's training me, really.

[York whistles and extends an arm, and a moment later, a little electric mouse scampers up to his shoulder, whiskers twitching. Manhattan squeaks a cheerful greeting to Dee.]

Electric/Fairy double type. Cute as a button.

Wow, you weren’t joking. Manhattan, you are one of the cutest little electric fairy mice I’ve ever met.

[Dee leans in a little towards the screen to get a better look, chuckling.]

I didn’t even know there was a fairy type… Things can change so much in just a few years. Do you get zapped a lot? Electric type and all.

[Bright eyes and the last person you'd want to trust with an egg, but Mafuyu's tuned in to all these new Pokemon names she's never heard about, the mention of something free, and of course, the word "Snubbull" that is her own starter Pokemon that she calls into the view of the screen, hoisting the little Pokemon up to flop on top of her head so the both of them can see.] I've got one!! A Snubbull! What's this deal? I'm a newcomer, sort of-- I want a Ponyta egg!

Sorry, I don't have a Ponyta to breed from, but I'll look into it if I can. And my Snubbull deal has to do with sports. You like baseball, kid?

Ugh- sucks about the Ponyta. But yeah! I guess I like baseball though!

[She mimics swinging around a bat, not exactly the right form for hitting baseballs, but hard and sharp blows in the air, level to where you'd expect an average teenager's head, stomach, knees.....]

I'm not really familiar with any of those Pokémon, so I can't be much help in voting, but I vote for anything cute!

They're all pretty cute if you ask me. Dedenne's got an edge over the others for being so tiny, though.
