[The video clicks on just as Cissnei settles on a bench in Pallet Town, two small foxes--a Zorua and a Fennekin--held gently by one arm. The Fennekin seems to be trying to hide itself in the Zorua's fur while said other fox stretches out a paw to try and get at the 'gear.

Cissnei carefully keeps it out of reach as she offers the network a smile.]

I've heard a few people mention that Legendaries have appeared here and there around both regions. I was wondering if anyone could tell me which ones have appeared?

Are there only one of each Legendary Pokemon or have multiples been spotted before?

Let's see... Regice, Regirock, and Registeel showed up a few years ago, Raikou, Suicune, and Entei were around one time, on another occasion Kyogre and Groudon, as well as Arceus, all were present. Jirachi has been sighted before, and Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres made brief appearances once. I've also personally seen one of Lugia's feathers, though I haven't seen the pokemon itself.

Though as for multiples, I don't think anyone's seen more than one of each kind at once before. Though in some cases, that doesn't rule out the possibility of there being more, and simply being extremely rare.

You named all of those in groups. Do they only ever appear in those groups or do they appear individually as well?

So if it is possible, it's rare. Makes sense given the legendary status, I suppose.

That's an interesting question, actually. Many are grouped together because they share something in common, whether origins, apparent purpose, or behavior. For example, Kyogre and Groudon are famous in legend for fighting each other; Kyogre wishes to expand the seas, while Groudon desires to expand the land. Of course, in most cases in the time I've been here, the appearance of several has been connected with activities on the part of nefarious organizations attempt to catch or use one or more of them. For example, Team Rocket was somehow holding Suicune captive, which enraged Raikou and Entei.

So I imagine it's possible for only one to show up at a time, but circumstances have been otherwise.

So there's something of a symbiotic relationship between some of the legendaries. And in other cases a lifelong rivalry. Good to know that where I find one I may be able to find others.

I can't imagine they'd have held the status of Legendary for such a long time, if the stories are correct, if there were multiples of all of them. I could see maybe two, at the most, but anymore than that would just seem a little too much to be so elusive.

Something like that. It's hard to say with certainty with as little information as there is to go on. Some may simply be more social than others.

Though as far as that goes, while pokemon in general are quite intelligent, the legendary ones in particular seem to be even more so, in addition to being powerful. They may well know how to evade detection when needed.

I hadn't considered that possibility. That's going to make them even harder to get information on.

I wonder if that's why there's so little information in the first place. Could they, themselves, be keeping all of that hidden?

As in actively suppressing information? That seems somewhat doubtful, as it would require interacting with humans in some way far more than they typically seem inclined to do. Though it's certainly not impossible that they might be capable of deliberately sabotaging efforts to gain more information than they're willing to have let known.

What about altering memories? If one can alter time I'm sure altering memories wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities.

I can't say I've heard of any legendary pokemon known for such abilities, though there's one that supposedly can cause nightmares.

Darkrai. I believe it's also rumored to be a dark type, unsurprisingly.

Do the Pokedexes have information on the Legendaries or just empty listings? I haven't actually looked yet.

Not anything useful. Most of what Ryner and I have learned has been the result of researching various texts and legends.

Nothing good is ever found without a little research.

Well, you're quite welcome. Though out of curiosity, might I ask what your interest in the legendaries is?

One part of me is curious to know if they're the ones that cause people to be brought to this world.

The other part of me is curious to see if they're similar to some of the "Legendary" beings we have back where I'm from.

Well, as for the first part, it seems rather doubtful, to be honest. There's certainly been no correlation between their activity and peoples' appearances here, at least.

A while back, when we had that prom, I was outside and I saw some weird thing shoot through the sky! It left a trail of stars behind and I heard folks talking about it for days after that...I...don't know what it was called.

I remember hearing about that. I didn't get a chance to see it myself but several other people did mention that there was something there. Apparently that's where all the shiny eggs we received came from.

[Her smile turns to a bit of an amused grin as she tilts her head.]

Do you have any idea if that creature has a name, by chance?

What, really? Man, I shoulda named Florida "Space Dude" instead if he really did come from outerspace.

Well it had to, right? All of the Pokemon have names. They even say 'em...but I didn't hear it, I only saw it.

I'll have to ask around. Someone has to have heard it's proper name before.

Yeah! Maybe talk to some folks who were on the moon. I heard that's a thing that happened but I still can't figure out if they're just pullin' my leg or not.

I've heard mention of that. I'm in the same boat as you though. I still haven't figured out if it's true or not.
