3rd Sprout

[Ivy's pretty face appears to you all on camera, it's easy to see she's hanging out in a forest.]

Hello buttercups, long time no see. [She gives you all a wink.]

It seems two of my babies have been rather busy whilst I was exploring the forest.

[She turns the camera to show a Pineco and Burmy hanging from a branch above her, beside them is a line of smaller Burmys and Pinecos.]

They are indeed adorable. Very well done dears.

[The long line of Bagworm Pokemon wriggle looking pleased with the praise.]

I'll be keeping them for a short while before I let them build their own lives out here in the forest.

But if anyone has an interest in raising one let me know.

Are you a breeder?

[Don't mind him, he actually seems kind of in awe at the moment.]

Yeah, mine too... I haven't actually talked to anyone else that seems to be one.

[To be fair he hasn't asked everyone, and it definitely hasn't always come up in conversation. But "meeting" someone else that was also a breeder was new and interesting in a world full of trainers, so he was curious.]

I would have expected trainer, honestly, but I'm too new to claim to know how things work around here. I might be interested, how long are you planning on holding onto them?

It's more than I've done, at least.

[Have a grin at that.]

You're not in the Ilex Forest, are you? I just happen to be exploring there myself this week.

Well, then maybe we can meet up... I'm sticking around for awhile. See if one of those babies likes me enough to tag along in a week, or so.

[He's perfectly fine with letting them choose, and he has a feeling she'd prefer it that way, just from the wording of her broadcast.]

Great, I'll be in touch.

Well aren't they just absolutely adorable.

[She hasn't dealt much with bug or plant Pokemon but boy these little ones are cute. Too cute for their own good.]

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with either of those Pokemon, though. Mind if I ask what they are?

Do they have secondary types? I honestly would have guessed grass for both of them before Bug. It's rather interesting what is classified as what here.

Well I can see why you were. [Cissnei smiles.] This place is full of surprises though. It seems as though they've settled in well enough.

Fair enough. [A pause as she considers the little ones.] If any of the Pinecos still need a home, I wouldn't mind adopting one.

Left them alone unsupervised, did you?

So did they end up surprising you, or were you expecting this result?

Well, that certainly puts you a few steps ahead of many people here.

And yet, people are constantly surprised when their pokemon have a little fun when their trainers aren't looking.

*well, some more exasperated than surprised, but still...*

Evidently. I imagine some find it surprising that such different-looking types are capable of breeding together, however.

I believe there are books and guides written on the subject, if you look for them. It seems most pokemon are broadly classified into one or two larger groups, where everything within that group is capable of breeding with everything else in it.
dreamsofahero: (awkward)

That's one way of looking at it.

*there's apparently some.... interesting possible combinations*

[The gasp from this girl is somewhere in the neighborhood of "delighted nerd" and "someone viewing something very small and adorable for the first time ever." Jade leans up into the view a little as if it will allow her a closer look--she's not an entomologist, so the bagworms aren't quite a subject of interest, but--]

Are those actual conifer cones with angry eyes? Oh my gosh! They're like little Mr. Potato Heads!
