Sixteenth Sacrament: Progression

[ On the network this evening, it's Walter. He's sat on his sofa with some of his Pokemon around him; Reed the Decidueye is perched on the back of the chair and leaning forward because he is far too tall to be seen otherwise. Claudia, his alolan Ninetales, is sat by his legs and Assumption is sat right beside him on the chair. He waves when the gear flips on and Walter sighs softly. ]

My Pokemon have had eggs again. I have a list of the parents involved and what their offspring will be, for those who wish to purchase any. I only ask for 1000P for each egg.

I'm not sure why they've done this.

[ At that muttered aside, Reed coos and presses his forehead to Walter's crown. Assumption jumped up and pulled out a badge case, chattering excitedly. He opened it and showed the contents off to the gear; eight gleaming badges, all from the Johto region. Walter ducked his head bashfully, reaching out and touching Assumption's skull. ]

Urm...thank you. But nobody needed to know about that. [ Assumption just smiled and Claudia leaned on his side. ]

[Cissnei is wearing a sincere smile when she says it, the young woman clearly walking as she addresses the 'gear. Sitting on her shoulders, his front paws resting on her head and his chin on top of them, is Tseng who doesn't realize who is there with Walter right away but when he does, his eyes widen.

Seems to me they were celebrating your achievement.

Ah, thank you...but, they did not need to. They battled for the badges I have obtained.

[ alter shifted awkwardly, although his Pokemon clearly disagreed; Reed stepped from the back of the chair onto his shoulders, nearly folding him in half with his weight. As Walter struggled with Reed trying to fuss over him, Claudia smiled when she saw Tseng, a little self conscious. She had wondered how others would take her evolution...but it was something she had wanted, and it was an honour that Walter felt he was ready for her to evolve as well. ]

Hello Tseng. I hope this isn't too jarring.

But you're the one that helped them become as amazing as they are. You deserve more credit than you're giving yourself.

[Never change, Walter. Seriously.

On Cissnei's shoulders, Tseng is definitely maybe blushing a bit, staring at the 'gear--staring at Claudia--with a look of wonder.]

N-No. Not at all. You look...you look amazing, Claudia!

[ He managed to get Reed to stand behind him, although the Decidueye still bent down and rested his head on Walter's with a happy chirp. ]

I only trained them, and helped instruct them. It is their abilities that were tested by these battles. Claudia earned the Rising Badge.

[ Claudia lowered her muzzle modestly. ]

Thank you. I had wanted to evolve someday...but with Walter's nerves over large canines, I did not know when that would be.

[Reed's antics get a quiet laugh out of Cissnei. What a charming owl.]

Then I suppose I should congratulate all of you--human and Pokemon alike.

[Tseng shifts on Cissnei's shoulders, moving around so he's perched on just one side, carefully balancing himself there so he can get a better view.]

I'm glad you were able to. Evolve I mean. I guess that means Walter trusts you completely, doesn't it?

[ He was still incredibly bashful about the praise, but gave her a small smile. From above him, Reed gave an approving cry, spreading his wings - and nearly smacking both Assumption and Claudia. Woops. Claudia leaned from him, giving him a mild look - she was used to Reed's...flamboyant gestures, even if they were a little ridiculous - and turned back to Tseng. ]

Yes. It's an honour to have been chosen and to know that he trusts me so... and this new form has benefits I had not considered. Walter must have known but I am now immune to Dragon type attacks.

[Oh Reed. You are just a darling.]

Seems like someone is extremely proud of you, Walter.

[Tseng frowns some when Claudia is almost smacked, giving Reed a slight glare before it softens as he looks at the object of his affection.]

It sounds like you're going to rather unstoppable at this rate, Claudia.

[ Walter sighed but while the look he gave Reed was dry...there was affection there too. ]

Reed is...not subtle, in expressing himself. [ Reed also didn't care. His head was bobbing to some kind of rhythm, even as he tucked his wings in and leaned over Walter's back. He did not care for Tseng's look, giving him a sharp eyed glance. Thankfully he wasn't about to kick up a fight, as Claudia was talking with him. ]

No, not unstoppable...I still have my weaknesses, as we all do, and there will always be a Pokemon capable of defeating me. But I hope to be strong enough to protect Walter.

It's rather adorable. There's nothing wrong with having a boisterous Pokemon.

[It makes things more interesting, Walter! Look at how adorable he is!]

Maybe, but I think you'll be able to give anyone a run for their money, Claudia. You have something worth protecting and that always makes you stronger.

[Why does everyone keep tempting him like this?

Newt can't help but be drawn to the video considering eggs were mention, the young man going over the list before lighting up at the sight of two Pokemon types in particular.

Mimikyu and Eevee.

Two small Pichus are perched on his shoulders when he finally responds, the pair bickering back and forth around Newt's head as he just seems to ignore it for the time being.]

If..well, if it's alright with you and your Pokemon, I would be very interested in the Eevee egg. And a Mimikyu, as well.

[ Thank the Holy Mother. The bickering doesn't go unnoticed, but given he had Reed hovering over him, he was grateful that Newt hadn't asked about the Decidueye leaning over him. ]

Do you wish to see the parents personally?

[Newt smiles that hesitant little smile of his, giving a slight nod as the bickering Pichus notice the 'gear finally and peer at it curiously.]

If that would be alright.

[He likes asking for permission from the parents.]

[ Walter nodded and rose. Assumption and Claudia rose with him, walking either side of him as he stepped outside and called softly to the Pokemon out there. ]

Sentinel, Jennifer. Bea, Bob. Come here.

[ He took the Gear and turned, to show Newt the four who had answered. An Absol, somber and quiet, slinked forward silently and sat down, taking in Newt with sharp eyes. A Flareon trotted over, thick and fluffy. She beamed at Walter...then eyed Newt suspiciously. A Mimikyu toddled over with a shy Phantump floating behind her, looking up at the Gear with a shake of her costume and a cry. Hello! ]

[His expression became less awkward and a bit brighter now that he was addressing Pokemon, Newt lifting his free hand to wave.]

Hello, everyone!

[The two Pichus chittering to one another quickly before they're gazes are back on the 'gear and they both wave, one a little more enthusiastically than the other.]

If you all would be alright with it, I would very much like to take on an egg from each pair of you to raise. [His gaze shifts from one to the other, lingering on Jennifer because of that suspicious look which he answers with a soft smile.] I promise you they will all have the best care among my companions.

[ Bea finds it hilarious that this guy had asked! She giggles and nods, floppy Pikachu head rocking back and forth. She wasn't very maternal - these eggs were friendship babies with her best friend! But she noticed the Pichus and a black claw emerged from her costume, waving to them. Bob also nodded, floating down and hiding a little behind Bea.

Sentinel is equally unfussed. He looks at Newt and assesses him - not a threat. He nods once, glancing at Jennifer. The Flareon is the toughest costumer here. Her flame like tail flicked from side to side as she frowned, trying to get a good look at Newt. ]

Jennifer, he is not interested in me personally. [ That immediately brightens her mood and she wags her tail, looking incredibly adorable and sweet. Clearly she sits well with her and she gives her approval. ]

[The Pichu on Newt's left shoulder--Elladore--twills happily and waves back at Bea. Hello friend! The other Pichu--Gifford--just huffs a bit, not bothering to wave again.

Jennifer is a rather intriguing little thing and her immediate shift in demeanor when she's told Newt isn't interested in Walter himself has the wizard smiling a bit wider.]

Thank you all. I truly do appreciate the opportunity.

[ He keeps the camera on the Pokemon for now. Bea is quite happy to chat with Elladore, while Bob stays half behind her. Sentinel slips away unnoticed, while Jennifer clearly walks past the camera to sit right beside Walter. ]

Newt Scamander. I am currently on my way to Saffron City, on Route 6, actually.

[Elladore is absolutely thrilled to chat with the older Pokemon, the little Pichu gesturing with her paws as she tells them all about the things they've seen since hatching. Every now and then her brother will add a bit but for the most part he's content to just be a group.

As he tries to steal one of the buttons off Newt's coat.]

Wow, Walt. Congrats. Looks like you and Claudia did it.

It was mostly her who earned the badge.

[ He can never take a compliment. Claudia however is much the same, turning her head modestly and trying to defect it back to Walter. Reed interrupts by calling, full of pride and spreading his wings to 'show off' both his trainer and his teammate. Walter and Claudia both gave him a look, torn between dryness at his antics and bashfulness. ]

Aw, come on now, don't get all bashful. [Even if you're both adorable.]

You've worked really hard for that. You should own it. What was the battle like?

The battle was straight-forward. Claire used a Gyarados, a Seadra and a Dragonite. Chaos dealt with the Gyarados. The rest Claudia faced alone. It is her strength that defeated them.

Seems like she did an awesome job then. You do anything to celebrate?

I came home and my Pokemon had eggs.

[ Reed looks very pleased with himself, despite Walter's not-so-pleased expression. ]

[Chuckles.]

I guess that means they celebrated then.

[ Walter just did not look impressed. But Reed clearly didn't give a damn, leaning down and wrapping his wings around Walter - before trying to perch on his shoulders. ]

Reed, you are too big-

[Diana starts giggling at the sight.]

Aw, he just wants to be close to you, Walt.

He is-

[ Walter tenses as his large bird stood on his shoulders, clearly pleased with this arrangement. Claudia clearly said something to him, which he responded to in a haughty way. ]

He weighs over eighty pounds.

And here I thought you had total control. [She shakes her head, still amused.] Why don't you get him to sit beside you?

[She gives him an impressed look.] Also, damn, how strong are you?

[ You were just encouraging him-! ]

Reed. Off. [ Thankfully Reed can hear his tone and steps off him...though his pout is visible in his body language. He still drapes himself over his back. ]

[Mm, that tone. Diana just smiles.]

Perfect control. No wonder you got that badge.

Most of my Pokemon obey. There are some that do not always listen.

[ But he knows who they are and does not try to rely on them too greatly. ]

Well, so long as it's most I'd say you're winning.
