[Another Jinx video, this time flanked by some of her favorite pokemon. Noir the Absol, Hex the Honchkrow, Ms. Fortune the Shiny Incineroar, Zest the Spritzee, Trixie the Primarina and Sakura the Espeon.]

So I was talking with someone about fish and how I have an aesthetic with my pokemon. I guess it's pretty normal for people to just collect pokemon that appeal to them right? Sometimes you just catch pokemon randomly, other times you seek out very specific types.

I mean I know the gym leaders like to focus on very specific types of pokemon but for trainers like us it's usually better to have a well rounded team right?

In my case I tend to lean towards Dark types...

[She gestures to her Absol, Honchkrow and Incineroar. The Absol tries to strike what he thinks is a cool pose but the Honchkrow just laughs at him making him look sheepish. Meanwhile oblivious to the other two the Incineroar is flexing her muscles with pride.]

And Fairy types.

[Here the Spritzee and Primarina strike a pose together looking adorable as the little pink fluff ball lands on the blue singers nose and they chime in harmony.]

Other then that I like pokemon that come in my favorite colors, pink and purple, so I've got lots of ghosts and of course my sweet baby Sakura here.

[The Espeon purrs and nuzzles the camera blinking slowly before Jinx adjusts it so it sits right on the stand.]

So what about you guys. Do any of you try to collect your pokemon based on a theme or a type that you're fond of? Are you as shallow as I am and just go with colors you like?

Come on I wanna see your team themes!

[Hey pokemon world, there's a cardboard sign in front of the camera. It reads, Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained. You can also hear a lot of kids in the background. And the sign goes away to show...yup it's Dipper. He's standing inside what looks like a kids restaurant.]

Welcome to the first pokemon world edition of Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained. We're on, Anomaly number 13 "The Pizza Parlor." Now I know what you're thinking. Dipper, this is totally just a normal place, where kids come and play games, eat pizza and learn to fear animatronics, right?

[The Camera shows scenes of all three of these things, ending with a creepy looking animatronic Mienshao. It is dressed like a ninja and very purple. The camera goes back to Dipper and you can see the group of animatronic ninja pokemon in the background.]

Wrong! This is no ordinary pizza place. I found it on a map that I got at the end of the last summer for doing the scavenger hunt. So there's definitely something different about this place. Plus I've been hearing some rumours since I got here about strange things happenin-

[Whatever pokemon is holding the camera seems to make a noise and Dipper glances behind him. Have those animatronics moved? Probably not. He looks back.]

So we're going to investigate the place and see what we can find out!

[And we go to Dipper investigating the place, talking to people. And probably something you at home might note is that the animatronic Mienshao Ninja, now seems to be orange. And around. Like a lot. Like Dipper is starting to notice. He glances over at the camera as another person almost runs off, claiming that nothing is wrong here he just really needs to leave NOW. Totally nothing to do with animatronics! Also don't work the night shift here!]

Okay so there's something....huh, we might be getting lost, Moon. I think we've passed this one a few times.

[Dipper scratches his head and then turns around.]

Well so far there's the usual, the animatronics are creepy but that seems to be it. ...Maybe Nephelis just really liked pizza and-

[And as the camera looks away there's a zapping noise and a scream and then the camera drops to the ground. The gear is dropped and there's a sound of a fight before Dipper manages to grab the gear back up. He looks slightly singed. There's also very angry Gothitelle who had been holding the camera till now. And may have just attacked something.]

I knew it! It's....

[The camera is now pointed at a beat up, now purple again Mienshao ninja animatronic. With a smug looking Rotom floating above it.]

Really!? Well I guess that explains the weird rumours, since I got here! Faraday, really? This was-

[There's suddenly a voice in the background. Apparently someone heard the fight]

"Hey, what happened to Ninja Nickie! She's all beat up!"

Uh...and that concludes Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained. Tune in next time and maybe we won't be filming this from a jail cell... Run!

[Dipper will pull the Rotom in the pokeball and make a break for it with his other pokemon. So much for the first episode.]

fuck how do you. hold on... wait. i think i got it—

[The video begins shakily as someone off-screen fumbles with their PokeGear, but is eventually corrected. Once properly focused, viewers are greeted with a rather odd incredibly cool-looking girl and a tiny shark gremlin relaxing in a mud bath.

Her face is heavily obscured by two things: a large mass of bushy, dark purple hair; and a ridiculous-looking super dope mask. There are a few differences though—the scaly pattern is purple in color, and the teeth are yellow instead of red. There appears to be a zipper along the front, hidden in the fabric. The only part of her face that's really visible are two piercing, amber eyes.]

'sup.

So I, uh. Wasn't planning on posting anything since I figured I'd be out of here by now. But since it's been a week and I'm still stuck in "Johto" or whatever, I figured I'd at least say hey, I guess.

And yeah, I know it's been a week and I'm still in Cherrygrove. Kiss my ass. I've been hanging out for a while. It's chill here.

[In actuality, she'd visited the Pokemon Center, then tried to book it to Violet City. She realized quickly though that she was in over her head (especially with only one Pokemon that wasn't in a shell) and made her way back to Cherrygrove to figure out what to do next. The spa she'd passed up the first time through would probably be a good place to figure it out.]

When I do yeet out of here tho, I'd like to have more than just one Pokemon with me. Might be a good idea. [She turns to her Gible and pats it on the head.] Don't worry about it little guy. Y'did great.

Ssssooooo........anybody know when these are supposed to hatch? [She motions toward the eggs resting on on the edge of the bath.] They've been shakin' around 'n' shit, but nothing's really—

[With just about perfect timing, one of the eggs starts to shake. Then it starts shaking a bit faster. And then,

it shakes itself off the edge, and into the mud.]

FUCK

[She reaches for the egg quickly, only to recoil when a bright light smashes the egg apart from the inside.

When the light fades, viewers can see her amber eyes twinkling in awe as she gazes upon a small, red sword.]

Red Buster.....

[It's not really clear what exactly her quiet whisper means, but she snaps out of it quickly and faces the camera.]

SO UHHHH.....THIS IS SICK AS HELL

This one looks different than what I saw in the egg catalog—is that okay?? Did I fuck up iS THIS BECAUSE I DROPPED IT IN MUD

[She doesn't seem like she's usually the emotive type, but right now she looks equal parts real worried and absolutely ecstatic.]

[ACTION: ROUTE 38, 4AM | HARALD]
Closed Prompt in Here )

[The occasional 'yawn' can be heard from behind the pokegear camera, and Carly is certainly not the source. Instead she's excitedly on screen, raincoat-over-nightclothes, crouched on the ground before a semi-violently shaking egg.] It... The second one is hatching..! I got three eggs, and I couldn't film the other one but now we can-

[It shakes. A chip flies free. And with a brilliant glow that threatens to wash out the entire screen...

'Explodes', more or less, the way all evolutions and such seem to go. And what's left behind is..!

Hm,
]

HEHHH!! [That's a fish. A fish that, after shaking off the mild shock of hatching, is apparently just righting itself with no problem. Just, you know, a fish out of water. Nothing to see he-

Carly grabs the fish about two seconds after getting over her shock.
] Y- Y-

You can just stand up like that?! Really?? If I'd known you were going to be a fish I would have had more water, we're in the middle of the woods you know, you're doing something incredible here..!

[It's hard to tell with its lazy eyes, but Feebas seems thrilled about this praise coming immediately toward it!

Carly, still holding the fish like a prize from the heavens, turns to the camera.
] These guys are really strong for just coming out of eggs huh..!

Oh god, I fucked this up!!

[It's Dandy and he's frantic, which is at least a step up from his usual pissbaby attitude.]

Is there any way to get these things smaller again, I totally forgot to buy one of those stupid forever rocks for my dog- LOOK!!

[The feed zips over to Dandy's newly evolved Hakamo-o, sitting on a bench and kicking her feet. Once she realizes the camera's on her, she looks up and smiles, giving a little wiggle of her fingers in a friendly wave. Heheh, she has fingers now~

She is also absolutely fine compared to her trainer. The feed goes back to Dandy, who still acts like it's the end of the world.]

[Gaige has, for the past week or so, been setting out on a trip to the Ruins of Alph without much in the way of broadcasting, but certain circumstances had brought her to needing the advice of the people, and so a video transmission pops up on the network.]

OKAY, hi - hi guys, it's me, your gal Gaige, etcetera, etcetera-

[She rushes through her usual routine to a shaky camera, and a loud crying in the background.]

So, you know those new Pokemon that started showing up? The ones terrified of, like, everything...? Turns out loud noises and explosions and basically EVERYTHING that makes me me comes under that.

[The camera shifts slightly as she tries to balance her 'Gear and something blue, amphibious, and crying in her arm. From what can be seen from Gaige's face, she looks tired, and trying really hard not to panic.]

It's been...uh, I don't even know - it feels like hours since he started crying? I can't get him to stop. [A weighted exhale, and the sobbing newt in her arms just accentuates her point.] I really want him to stop. I just, you know, babies aren't really my ball park? Kind of never really planned this kind of thing. I only ever anticipated robot children! I'm way too young to be a mother!

[Her voice raises in distress, which only makes the baby more upset. It's a vicious cycle.]

Look, some of you guys have got to have experience with this kind of thing, right? You gotta help me out here.

Now that's a pretty good haul, if I do say so myself.

[Hey everyone, remember that weird kid complaining about not being a bird anymore? Seems like she's mellowed out a bit and decided to use the video feature this time around, though instead of a video of herself, the gear is instead turned towards a trio of pokemon, near what seems to be the shore of the lake surrounding the Sprout Tower in Violet City, close to the Pokemon Center.

The first is a Skrelp, who seems to be enjoying showing off for the camera; zipping from side to side in the shallows of the lake, puffing out its chest and shooting out small bursts of Water Gun like... well. A water gun. The second is a Ralts, standing a bit away from the shore. If it had fingers it would clearly be wringing its little hands with the way it seems to be fretting frowning and reaching out towards the third pokemon in this little group; a Trapinch, which seems to be chewing happily on... a Bellsprout?? No, not a real Bellsprout... it looks like one of those tacky tourist souvenirs, the kind that will wiggle around like they were dancing if you leave them in the sun or play music close to them. This poor little dancing Bellsprout seems to be the former, if the way the toy still pathetically wiggling in the Trapinch's jaws is anything to go by.

It's an interesting trio, and if the way Lena is giggling behind the camera is anything to go by, she's pretty happy with them.]

I gotta say, though... those ruins outside of Violet City were kind of a bust, aren't they? I mean, alphabet soup monsters? Nnnnnot really my idea of spooky ruin-dwellers. I've heard of way worse.

[Webby talked her ear off about Toth-ra, and there was all that stuff she put her to sleep with in regards to Scrooge's adventures, so when she and Demyx decided to take a day trip into the ruins, she was expecting... well. Something like that. Like, actual monster-looking things.]

So are ruins like this a thing here? They kinda seem... I dunno. Out of place.

[The view on the 'gear screen is an awkward one, angled down and sideways at the floor where a rockruff and a furfrou are working together to open a large plastic tub of erasers and binder clips. Jack meant to audio broadcast.]

Y'know...y'know something 'bout this place?

It friggin sucks.

[The slurring and mumbling between words, not to mention the all around tone and tenor, are a clear indication that Handsome Jack Is Very Drunk. He's been keeping off the network, stewing in his own self pity and perceived betrayal and grief. But even in his darkest moods, he can only stay quiet for so long.]

I mean...I mean it really sucks. S'like...s'like some asshole that gives a kid a lollipop and then goes 'ha, no bitch, you can't have it after all!'. That's this friggin world. Makes ya think it's all cool and you're gonna...it's gonna be all cool. But it's not. Everybody all...all 'oh, this is such a great place, you can have a nice life...'

Bull. Shit.

Doesn't friggin matter. Cause I...y'know I tried. But nooooo. Can't just do my own thing and mind my own business, nope! And then...and then this place gotta fucking kick a guy when he's down...

[There's a long grown interrupted by a hiccup.]

Man I wanna burger....

[At this point one of Jack's Meowth has enough sense to turn off the broadcasting function. At least until Jack gets any messages and turns it back on....]

Soooooo.

[The feed starts a little abruptly, focused on an Elgyem cradled in the crook of someone's arm. The Elgyem in question makes hopeful grabby-hands towards the Pokegear, her handlights blinking.]

Got this little girl recently- from a guy called Ford Pines. She's kind of like, the closest I've come to actually trying to take care of a human baby. You know, Ray likes to call all the Pokemon we get our "children", but this one's the first that's really.. humanoid, I guess? Dunno.

i mean i figured any kind of weird shadow world would be pretty wonky but this is a whole other story
with the lack of feathers and beak and the weird feet and all that
and it's a lot more colorful than i thought it'd be??
crazy

[She's going to stick to "shadow world" instead of "afterlife", because... mmm. That's not something she's willing to unpack just yet. She's still trying to deal with the fact that Magica sucked her back into her shadow; the whole hit point black with a murder-spell later is something she's just. Going to repress for now.

It's good, it's fine, she's used to trying to repress the horrific stuff that happens to her.]

Thinking about it, it's getting close to Spring again, specifically Spring Break which everything went crazy back in my own world.

I remember one time when I got turned into a toddler. And then I fought a sad Camera Monster.

Anyone else ever have something really weird happen to them in their world or even here? Like, not just scary or terrifying, but like, just weird weird. Something out of the blue that just didn't make sense?

And even then, it was really cool in retrospect?

[The video starts with Jinx on horseback. She's in a very different outfit then usual, sporting a wide brimmed black hat, purple and black poncho and from the ambient noise she's clearly on horseback.]

So let's talk about obsessions shall we?

A few months back Diana and I decided we wanted to get a place to stay regularly instead of traveling from town to town all the time. And as a house warming gift I got us a game system and a few games.

One of those games was FireRed Redemption. I never played the original but like...whatever it was really popular right?

Biiiiig mistake.

We've been playing this game since like...November. It totally sucks you in and it's like...you just lose entire days. I spent four hours hunting for dragon bones so this Professor would give me a special item!

Anyway I decided the only way to break the hold the game had on me was to level up my horse pokemon. Crackle is well on her way to becoming a Zebstrika, Rocky Road just became a beautiful Mudsdale this morning...

[She turns the camera over to her side where a Massive Mudsdale and a spunky looking Zebstrika, and Maractus riding on the Mudsdale who waves.]

And of course Sugar, my first pony pokemon...

[She tosses the camera to the Maractus who fumbles it as Jinx urges her Rapidash ahead at a trot where she canters, poses and lets out a cry before going up on her hind legs, stomping down and sending sparks from it's mane. Jinx manages to hang on but it takes some effort.]

SO! Now I throw the question to you guys. What do you obsess over? Is it good? Bad? A hobby? Your career? Something utterly taboo? I'll answer as soon as we're done training for today. Right now I think they all wanna cut loose!

[Sure enough Sugar lets out another cry and takes off running building up speed so fast the others have a hard time catching up. Somehow the Maractus fumbles the video to turn off.]

[Hank's at a pretty scuffed-up looking desk, like it probably was once nice before it went through three owners before him, but it's not hotel room material. It's very much a "someone had to find the Pokemon version of Craigslist and make the most of it" desk. He moves around some papers and folders of clippings he's talking, acting a little fidgety.]

I've got some questions to specifically ask some of the gym leaders and I might need a ride eventually to see a few of 'em. They're not exactly the kind of people you can hit up with social media. Then I gotta run by the Pokecenter and talk to a Jenny. I probably wouldn't be spending more than an hour.

I heard some of the leaders are pretty damn aggressive, too. [He counts out names on his fingers as he's thinking through the ones he intends to talk to.] The ones I'm needing to speak with are Sabrina, Brock, Lt. Surge, [there's a moment of quiet mental exasperation at being in a place where someone who is not in the W.W.E can go by Lt. Surge] and I think Jasmine and Blaine and Janine.

I know a few of you have met all of them, which ones would be the most agreeable to questioning without having to battle them? I know they've got busy schedules and some of them can only make time for the badge battles, not for a sit-down. I'll probably have to do it in a few cases but I'd like to hit up the easy ones first. I just got some vague reputation to go by. I'd like some firsthand accounts.

I uh... also, I guess I'll be setting up residence in Goldenrod. We just picked out a house here. That'll be our new base of operations. [So hopefully he doesn't fuck this up like he manages to fuck so many other important things up. And it's that lingering worry that's helping that uneasy look along. At least the Swanna isn't trying to war with his damn ankles anymore.]

[The video is clearly not being used by a human. It's too close to the ground, and a quick camera check to see that it's working will show a Gothita. Namely, Moon Child, belonging to one Dipper Pines. Who you can now see as the hidden camera is now pointing back to show....a room with drawn curtains?

Well there's Dipper with a map of the city on the wall covered in pins, lines drawn with markers and is he wearing an over sized trench coat and hat? Apparently yes. And he's addressing a group of pokemon in front of him. Notably an Alolan Vulpix and a Phantump.]

Okay you all know the plan. Blizzard. You'll provide cover if things get too....heated. Crafty, I've devised the most likely movements of the competition based on these equations.

[A sheet is pulled off a white board and dear lord how much math is on that? It's....a lot? What is all this planning for?]

Study them and make sure you know they by heart. Now then, I have disguises so that even if we are spotted, we'll be able to have plausible deniability.

[Well that sure sounds ...bad. Dipper meanwhile seems pleased.]

All we have to do is follow this simple 28 step plan I've created and this will all work out fine Nothing will stop us from purchasing the latest ABBRA album....nothing!

[And insert evil? (wait is this even evil?) laughter and wait Moon Child is on the move because she's been spotted. The camera goes shaky as the pokemon tries to hide it, fails and then hands it over.]

What are you doing? You know this is secret....what do you mean the video is still going?

[Dipper then glances down at the camera.]

Uh....You saw nothing! Um....this isn't Dipper it's....

[He turns the camera away and then back and oh dear, are those fake glasses with the nose piece. Yup.]

His evil twin...other twin...wait no, um, clone! Who likes pop music, so, totally not him ...um...yeah-

[100% sold it. Anyway the video cuts short there as it's quickly turned off. YOU SAW NOTHING.]

So, uh.

[The video shows Boone looking thoroughly unsure of how to feel about his situation, before he moves the camera slightly to show a Salazzle lounging on his backpack. Her tail swishes contentedly, and there is a swarm of Salandit bringing her whatever they can find, leaving the offerings by her feet.]

My goddamn lizard enticed a bunch of these guys to show up and now they won't go away. Trying to make them leave just gets poison spat at me. If I end up with eggs outta this, I'm not gonna be happy.

[He gives the Salazzle a sharp look.]

Anyone got any ideas on how to break this up?

Good evening Johto, Kanto, and the Sevii Islands.

[The video feed is focused on Lust, in front of a nondescript wall. She's looking a bit...different in this broadcast - wearing an old fashioned white button up blouse and a fashionable pair of glasses, with her hair pinned up on top of her head.]

[She's in her Miss Fitz persona.]

[Occasionally, throughout the broadcast, a large eyed Ekans' head wanders into frame before being hauled off by an unseen helper.]

The month of Halloween has come again, and that means it's getting to be time for Miss Fitz's Story Hour to put out our spooktacular radio special. I'm delighted to announce that this year's production is an entirely original anthology written by myself - Miss Fitz - and my new partner, Mr. Ease.

[Because Lust isn't one to abandon a clever theme.]

If you're new to our community, I produce a radio show over this network. While we're an amateur production, we've been making shows for a few years now and put a great deal into every production. But we need you. If you've any interest in volunteering your time, please contact me. We especially need anyone willing to lend their voice as acting talent. And I use the word 'volunteer' on purpose, there's no profit being made here, we simply enjoy what we do.

I hope to hear from you...and that you'll be waiting to hear what we have in store.

[ As the video opens we see the cabin of a ship. Cozy but with some basic amenities like most hotel rooms. The difference here is there are dog pokemon in each bed, and sitting on the chairs at the table. The Camera then cuts and the next image is a pool on one of the ships decks. Each of the pool chairs has a dog pokemon on it and there are some playing in the pool with the other passengers.]

I'm just saying? It's a good thing you guys are so chill with people taking their pokemon literally every where because we brought ALL the dogs with us on this little vacation.

[She spins the camera around and she's lounging at a table with a fruity drink, sunglasses and a broad brimmed sun hat trying to protect herself from sunburn. She has an Espeon sitting at the table with her and as she smiles to start talking it sips from a straw sticking out of the drink.]

So Jinx here, Sakura looking fabulous now that she's evolved isn't she?

[The Espeon looks smug and wiggles a little full of herself.]

Diana and I decided to finally make our way out to the islands for awhile. I'm sure I could just read the books about it but I figured I'd offer you guys some input.

For those of you who have been there before or who live there now: what do you love about the Islands?
What would you recommend for newcomers?
And most importantly, what are the best foods to try at each island?

While we're at it...how many of you have like...settled down and gotten houses and stuff since you arrived? How did you decide where to live?

I've been here almost two years living out of backpacks and it's something that's been in the back of my mind.
