[Normally, Thida doesn't have a problem with birds. They were a common enough sight at home for her not to be weirded out by something else living on land that wasn't a squid or the various fish-species that had made their home on terra firma in her world. But, uh. That sure is a lot of Swanna slowly making their approach towards her, stalking and swaying down an incline. Whoever is holding the Poke'gear is backing up, backing up, and the distressed snorts of a Tepig snuffle nearby.]

Uh...'s a lot a birds...

[One of the Swanna, a particularly large one with some scorching on its feathers, pushes through to the front, wings up and flapping, its expression sharp and pissed.]

Was trainin' with Poko...d-didn't see it in th'bushes...'n then they all came out? W-Where're they comin' from?! Can't fight, 's just me 'n Poko, they got Water attacks 'n I left Judd at Noctis's-

[Suddenly, the lare Swanna squawks, and all at once the lot of them are charging, some taking to the air to glide downwards. Trainer and Tepig both screech, and suddenly everything is a jostling blur as Thida books it the heck out of dodge. There's about a minute of this before the 'gear turns off, probably by accident, but, uh. I guess everybody has to learn not to piss off the water fowl, even accidentally, at some point in their lives.]

My yard's covered in Rufflets and Braviary! I feed the local bird Pokemon that live in the neighborhood, and I know we ain't got that many!

They don't seem to be doing anything threatening, though, so I dunno what's up with those Swanna...

[Whoah, yeah, those are angry big birds!]

Throw food at'em! Wave your arms and make yourself look big! Uh....

[He can't even tell if his suggestions got through in time or not. or if they'd matter...]

[Haha so in a couple of minutes, when she's...climbed a tree, as Jimmy can see, Thida shows the high-up view of an assortment of berries tossed down onto the ground. Three of the Swanna swarm on them, devouring the lot in moments - and then look up at her and start to close in on the tree.]

Uh...um...d-dunno if they'll be nice, now...

Well shit, now it looks like they just really want more...

Can they climb trees? Or fly?

Got wings...can fly, for sure.

[But they're not flying yet. Just...circling. Menacingly.]

A-Aah...nooooo...go 'way...

Well, some birds got wings and can't really fly!

You got any fire?

[She nods, and hefts up the Tepig in her arms. His bent ear is quivering, and he looks pretty out of it.]

Not a lot...

Maybe it'd be enough to scare'em away? Birds usually don't like fire...

I know it's different with Pokemon but...they got feathers and stuff. They shouldn't like fire.

...They're water birds, though...f'r real...

[Like look at those Swanna, they look like they're ready to spit some hella nasty Water Guns.]

Aw shit. Okay...uh...so water. Water types are weak to electric, right? I can never keep it all straight....

Y-Yeah...but...I don't got Judd, he's 'lectric...

What do ya got? We'll figure this out!

Uh, uh, Poko, 'n...uh...Majo? She's a plant...they're birds, though. Might work?

[It takes a little while before there's a response - and Thida's face is scratched up some, there's leaves and twigs in her twintails, and she holds a finger to her mouth as she angles the 'gear carefully to peer over the bush she's hiding behind-

Oh. Oh, that's. Three grumpy-looking Swanna looking around the area.

She can't be too loud or else they're going to find her........]

[Oh shit. Joker immediately covers his mouth with his hands, just to make sure.]

[Don't die Thida]

[SHE'S TRYING

The feed lowers, and she stays low to the ground as she crawls to another bush, her tired and worn out Tepig following her. They move quite slowly, over branches and anything that would rustle or crunch, using wind that rustles the leaves in the trees as cover for the more treacherous stretches of land.

Still no Swanna pursuing.......]

[Evening dramas on television, eat your hearts out. This is much more heart stopping, and Joker cranes his neck here and there as if he can help at all when she's the one guiding where the camera is pointed to.]

...

[There's a pause, and she lets the 'gear scan the area. The Swanna still have their backs turned, and they're farther away and moving away from her position. She brings the camera back down.]

Looks okay...?

Yeah, I think ya might be clear.

[Just for caution's sake, he keeps his voice low.]

Still, no harm in sneakin' a little more until they're out of sight, right?

Are you okay? Try to get inside, that's the only place I haven't seen them today!

[Mostly, but let's not mention that now.]

[The response Ash gets is noticeably closer to Olivine City, if he's ever been out that way. At the very least, the path looks like it's somewhat more kept up. The far-off calls of angry Swanna can be heard as Thida lets out a long, tired sigh. She's fumbling in her backpack for a healing item while her Tepig pants and snorts beside her.]

L...Lost 'em...f'r now...auuugh...

Thank goodness. Is there any good cover around there? Bushes, maybe?

[He hears those distant Swannas, and he's more than aware that they may not remain distant.]

Uh...bushes?

[Small trees and bushes are her main source of cover in this situation, it's just. A+ choices right here.]

I guess that's better than nothing.

[A little.]

I'd heard that swans could be terrifyingly protective, but I wasn't expecting it to be like... that.

Never seen 'em out here...so many...like th'cats in March!

[Yes it is just like a swarm. Exactly.]

Yeah, it happens once in a while. One time, it even happened every day for a full September.
