[It might be hard to tell at first, but it is not, in fact, the surprised-looking Flaafy that is shouting excitedly at the Gear. Sharp-eyed viewers might see the two tiny arms wrapped around her middle before Frisk's head pokes out from over the Pokemon's shoulder, beaming and terribly excited.]
I didn't know they can change like this! I was just out makin' friends, but some of th' Pokemon didn't wanna be friends an' Shelly started attackin', an' I was tryin' t' stop it but then she started glowin' an' got bigger an' they got really really scared an' ran away!
[Shelly sighs and pats her trainer's arm a few times, and Frisk blinks before setting her back down with a quick apology, then promptly snatches up the Gear to hold it properly. They might not be happy about the fight, but this is still so exciting!!]
It's so cool! I didn't know Pokemon could change like that! But, um, when's she gonna go back t' normal?

Um! Well, Mettaton's here, an' Papyrus! An' I got Buddy an' Shelly watchin' me, too!
[Frisk beams and turns the camera over to the side for a moment--the two 'humans' mentioned are indeed there, talking about something or other, and both of Frisk's Pokemon are sitting nearby and watching their trainer curiously.]
We're all stayin' together!
[Frisk pauses for a moment, then turns the camera back around to a rather contemplative look.]
'Re you not supposed 'ta be human?

Uh—yeah. I mean, no, I'm not.
[Or something, fuck grammar anyway. He hadn't expected some kid to pick it up that quickly, so yes, he is a little thrown off. Then again, maybe that's normal on their world. Who knows?]
Okay, good. You have people looking after you. That's all I needed to know.

Oh. What'd you look like before? Were you a bug person?
[Frisk doesn't really remember seeing any buggy kinds of monsters outside of Muffet, and they're pretty sure spiders are something different anyway? Something about the legs and stuff.]

I had gray skin, horns, and my eyes were different colors than they are now. [He shrugs vaguely.] Trolls aren't bugs, but we're sort of similar, I guess.

[Or even a monster they would describe as a troll, really. Monsters tended to get a lot more weird than just funny skin and horns.]
Did you ever know a monster? An' not th' mean way, like real monsters!

My lusus was one? I mean, my guardian. By human standards. [He shrugs.] They were all over my planet, but I guess alien species would seem like monsters by default? We didn't have any creatures like what you'd find on Earth.

[Frisk never heard of a monster called that before. But maybe they're different on other planets? He did just say he's an alien!]
Whadda they look like? My mom's a boss monster, so she's really tall an' got white fur an' horns, an' her eyes are red an' really pretty!

[He trails off as that whole "my mom's a boss monster" thing filters through, confusion soon giving way to... not quite realization, but growing suspicion. Frisk had probably meant something else? But if they hadn't, then... then what? Humans don't have lusii, right?
Making a mental note to choose his words much, much more carefully this time, Karkat resumes the explanation.]
I guess it's like saying "parent" for your species. We call them lusii or custodians. They can be all different types of creatures. Did you just say your mom is a monster?

Uh-huh! She adopted me. Or, um, she's tryin' to. There's a lotta papers an' meetings an' stuff.
[Of course, as far as Frisk is concerned the legal stuff is meaningless. They're a family, and that's what matters.]
