[A familiar, lovely redhead in broadcasting on the network. She appears rather relaxed, as usual. In the background you can hear the faint noises of waves and ocean breeze, and the not so faint noises of Wingull.]

Hello there, my blossoms.

[Her fingers give a lazy wave to accompany the lazy smile on her face.]

I have a little announcement to make today. I don't know how many of you know my darling Newt Scamander, but he'll be celebrating his birthday this month.

I would like to surprise him with a small get together at his cottage and so I'm extending an invitation to any who would like to come celebrate with him.

We're traveling right now but I'll be certain to inform any of those interested of the date and time once we return home and I can begin planning proper. It'll be an afternoon, garden party sort of affair, rather casual.

[The smile curls into a playful smirk.]

Oh, and of course, I trust you all to keep this secret for me. I'll be most displeased if someone spoils the surprise for my Newt. We wouldn't want that, would we?

[There's a flash of something dangerous behind Ivy's smirk before she winks and ends the broadcast.]

[Armin had already known about Newt's upcoming birthday --he has been working on his gift for ages now!-- and while he had originally intended to let Webby deliver his gift for him, actually this is much better. He'll be able to hand over his gift in person, which he feels is much nicer.]

[It'll be a tiny bit awkward seeing Newt knowing what he now knows, but he'll skillfully muscle under his hormones and attend like a normal person.]

Uhm. Is there anything I should bring for the party?

[Ivy gives him a smile.]

He'll be so happy to see you, buttercup.

[She taps a slender finger to her chin thoughtfully.]

You can bring some food or beverages if you like, but it's not required.

[Armin makes a soft, thoughtful noise.]

Maybe I could bring some Malasadas? They are really popular here, but I don't recall seeing them being sold much in Johto. Even Pokemon seem to really love them.

[Ivy all but purrs at him.]

Oh, I think he'd like that very much. Being able to share with his Pokemon. You know him so well, Armin.

[He shifts, slightly uncomfortable. He's just. Not used to dealing with people like Ivy. And, to be honest, he cannot shake the feeling that she is making fun of him, somehow even if her words are lacking in direct barbs.]

Yes. Well. Is there any kind you'd like? They sell different flavours.

I'm sure they're all lovely. Why don't you surprise me, buttercup?

I'll try.

[There is a silence, one that stretches slightly awkwardly, but in the end, Armin has to ask. Because. Because nobody does this to him.]

Why do you call me that?

I have a tendency to call people I'm fond of pet names. And your hair reminds me of a buttercup.

[There's a sly smile to her lips. No, she's not asking permission. And no, she's not stopping.]

Perfect. Miss Granger, yes? The one with my Newt's book. You certainly sent him into a tizzy.

There's no need but you can bring anything you wish, perhaps something you like to eat or drink so others might try it. I'm sure Newt will be happy with any sort of gift, if you find someone you'd like to do a shared gift with, by all means. I know some others are also bringing their own.

Oh, uh yes. I do hope he's alright after that...surprise. I really didn't mean to shock him, it's just that he's famous in my time period, and I just couldn't believe I was meeting him face to face.

I'm sure I can find something appropriate. When are you expected to return home?

Oh, he was very pleased. He spoke about it for ages. I'm glad he'll get some recognition for his work, he deserves it.

That's entirely up to Newt. But as I said, I'll contact you about the date. It's likely to be the 25th.

Wow, there's a lot of birthdays coming up this month.

Well, I wouldn't be much of a partner if I didn't do something nice for my other on their birthday would I?
