Summary: Ah, Christmas time! A time of joy, family and... commerce?


Like every year, the Goldenrod Christmas Market is opened on December 1st by a Santa (not the Santa, but certainly a Santa) with a merry Ho-Ho-Ho and a jolly tinkle of sleigh bells. And like every year, the stalls are stacked to the brim, overflowing with everything you might wish to buy this Christmas season. Every few stalls, the items make way for hot food and drink -- waffles, hot chocolate, cider, you name it and you can most certainly find it.

Just like last year, you too can open a stall at the Christmas Market. If you've got a special talent for creating things, why not drop by Goldenrod, and see if you can sell your creations for a bit of extra money. Stalls can be rented by the day, the week, or even for the whole month, so even if you've only got a small stash of items (or pokemon eggs or food or whatever) to sell, why not come by and try and make a buck.

Hello. [Luna smiled at the camera.] My name is Luna.

Has everyone received one of these? [She held up the lovely decorated invitation to the Halloween contest.] I was curious if anyone has done of these before. It looks like wonderful fun.

I was thinking of attending, but I'm having a bit of trouble deciding on a story to tell. Would anyone be willing to listen to a few of my ideas and give me some feedback?

I love dressing up, too, so I'm quite excited to create my costume depending on which story I pick. Though, I've never made a costume in the muggle way before. Would anyone have tips on how to make one?

[The feed starts to Marik holding the small, freshly polished face mask of Yamask in one hand as he settles in to sit back down then passes it off to Chenzira, who looks quite pleased and sets it back to its proper spot on his tail. There's an amused smirk before he turns his full attention to his device. What a fitting time to bring up ghosts with the holiday he's unaware of approaching.]

I've been trying to learn as much as I can of Yamask since I arrived in this world. I think I've got a fairly good understanding of them by now. I wasn't entirely convinced of their pokedex entry at first but after spending more time with them, I believe there's some truth behind their story of origin. It's too on the nose not to be.

I don't know if anyone's interested in hearing about it. I.. guess if people want, I can post a summary of what I learned.

[It's a weird thought, that people might be genuinely interested in hearing what he has to say instead of him just talking to hear himself speak. Because he does that a lot. Not as much as before but still.]

I've tried asking some of the natives about it, particularly the people working at the Ruins of Alph but they all gave rather vague responses that didn't answer any of my questions at all.

[Marik clicks his tongue in annoyance.]

I know Yamask aren't the only ones with human origin. There's a number of ghost types that are said to be once human in their previous life and some that take others to the Afterlife.

[He's been reading up on the legends of the legendary pokémon in his free time, trying to make sense of everything.]

So both reincarnation and an afterlife exist here. Has anyone been able to learn any more stories or history about... any of those subjects? I'm genuinely curious.

[A pause as he exchanges a look with his Yamask.]

And does anyone have or seen a Cofagrigus in person? Neither myself of Chenzira here want him to evolve but I'm still interested in learning about his evolved species.

Battle Convention!

Early Saturday morning, the doors of one of the largest --if not the largest-- convention centres in Viridian City open to welcome everybody to this years Battle Convention.

Spread out across several floors, and the battling fields outside, the Battle Convention is the place to be for anyone with an interest in pokemon battling. Whether you are a hardcore battler trying to hone your craft even further, or a newcomer to the battling scene hoping to learn, the Battle Convention has things of interest to everybody. It's promising to be a busy event, with trainers attending from all over Johto and Kanto. Famous battlers and gym leaders alike can be spotted in the crowds, hosting workshops or even entering in the tournaments.

June Egg Drop! (and a Tyrantrum who's a big baby when it comes to stubbing his toe)

[The feed opens...on its side? Seems like the PokeGear has fallen over in some sort of open barn space and turned the network feed on. There's a close up of some eggs to one side, currently being polished by...is that a snow fox tail? Hard to tell from this angle.

What is very noticeable though is the roaring and stomping, shaking the camera as large dark red feet with black talons appear in and out of frame as Hermione's Tyrantrum cracks the world's biggest tantrum.]

Rexy! No!

[More bellowing can be heard over Hermione's stern voice.]

You don't need to throw such a hissy fit over tripping over a Paras-sized rock! You're a giant dinosaur for Merlin's sake. You need to calm down.

['Rexy' still isn't listening to Hermione, if the stomping and roaring closer to the camera are any indication. He's getting a little too close to those eggs for comfort...]

REXY.

I.

Said.

Stop.

[By some miracle, the pissy Tyrantrum seems to finally cower and step back, apparently not wanting to deal with Hermione's wrath if he'd taken one step further.]

That's better. Now this wouldn't have happened if you'd just been watching where you were going instead of being all huffy and jealous over Caza's latest clutch, just because it wasn't with you.

[Rexy whines at her.]

No, I don't think she'd be very impressed if you stomped on her eggs, and neither would I. Your foot is fine, now go out into the field and think about your behaviour.

[The camera shakes as Rexy sulkily stomps out of the barn area. Hermione seems to have noticed the camera is on, leaning down to pick it up.]

Oh rats. Sorry to those who had to witness that. Rexy can be a big baby sometimes.

Well, if you're watching, I do have some new pokemon eggs, if anyone wants one.

[She pans the camera over the sizable cluster.]

There are some ghost types, some water and ice types, flying, grass....let me know if you're interested in any. I'll post a full list of what's available. I think there might be a shiny egg in there too....

[The feed clicks on to Hermione with her eyes closed rubbing her temples. It's been a long day. A LOOONG day. After a second she opens her eyes, and she moves the camera to show the scene behind her, where you can see a huge pile of eggs surrounded by some very smug looking pokemon.]

As if fighting two monster birds wasn't enough, my pokemon - despite barely having hours to recover from that decide that right now was the best time to surprise me with a ton of eggs.

[She shoots a glare at the group of pokemon, who, honestly, are more amused than anything else. She sighs.]

Anyway, I've gone through them and it looks like I have a number of different types available, if anyone is interested. Eggs are 2500P each. Let me know if there's a specific egg you'd like.

[Hermione appears on screen, beaming at the camera and looking a little smug. She's holding a thick print out of pages in one hand. As her hands are moving, you may see the words 'Breeder's directory draft' written on the front page.]

Hello fellow breeders!

I've noticed, both times I've been here, that the need for a full list of breeders and their available pokemon and eggs would be extremely useful for other breeders. It will also enable us all to improve the gene pool of bred pokemon, as well as support the survival of rarer or endangered pokemon species.

It's taken a while, and thank you to those who have provided input.

I'm excited to finally present you with The Breeder's Directory!

I've tried to make it as easy to use as possible. Basically just input your breeding pokemon into each of the egg categories listed, as well as some additional pokemon and personal contact information.

That way, if you're interested in talking to another breeder about breeding opportunities, egg swaps and so on, you can see what's available and then privately contact the breeder to discuss.

It would be wonderful if you could take a look and fill it in if you have time!

Please let me know if you have any issues accessing the directory or if you have any questions.

[The feed clicks on to...wait...is that...Hermione? Girl, you look a little different. Hermione (?) tosses her unruly hair over a shoulder, and grins at the camera.]

Heeeeey there. So I'm looking to get a tattoo. A really cool tattoo. Like the coolest of cool tattoos. On my back. Of me. I mean....my Mismagius. Because she's like, the best pokemon ever, and I love her so much. Go Team Umbra!

Yeah so back to the tattoo. Can anyone...what's that phrase you strange people use? ...Do me a solid? What does that even mean??

ANYWAY yeah, can anyone [Hermione raises her fingers to do airquotes] 'do me a solid' and hit me up with a tattoo artist? A good one, not a crappy one.

Oh! And some piercings! What's the best place to get a piercing? That random hole in your stomach seems like a good place to get one.

[In the background, you may catch a glimpse of an upside down Mismagius floating past the camera, flailing wildly and yelling something at "Hermione" that sounds too muffled and ghostly to understand.]

[The video starts with a disgruntled looking young man looking angrily off in the distance. His hair is dishevelled, brows furrowed in an unhappy frown as he yells at something (or someone) just off screen.]

Stay away from that thing! Don't go picking fights with weird things!

[Now he looks at the screen. He's pretty sure he's worked this out. Weird Zoom call, right? Hopefully he can get answers this way or at least talk to someone who isn't a weird NPC like the crazy woman who called herself his mom. He knew who his mom was and it wasn't her.

Is it aliens? Has he been abducted and taken to an alien world? It feels like this could be aliens...

Iwaizumi has a million questions he wants to ask but now that he's just staring at the camera the first thing that pops out of his mouth is one of the last things he was really bothered about.]

How do I get the music to shut up? I can... Hey!

[He's interrupted by a Larvesta crawling up his arm. The large bug Pokemon managing to balance on his shoulder. For a second he looks irritated, but it's brief and a little half smile appears soon after. A smile that's gone by the time his attention returns to the screen, though he looks a somewhat calmer now.]

Fine. Right. I'm Iwaizumi Hajime. I woke up in a weird house with this... [Vague gesture to the Larvesta.] ... with me. This isn't Japan, is it? So were am I and how do I get outta here?
