I've finally made it to Olivine!
[It was one long train ride and a bit of a trek from Lavender Town, but here they are! The sound of the ocean's waves lapping up on a beach is clear over the broadcast.]
Y'know, Tonks is some kind of seal or sea lion, but I think this is the first time he's seen the ocean!
[He turns the camera around to show a Primarina delicately testing the waters with his tail. Meanwhile, a Furret is much further out in the water, enjoying a real swim.]
I didn't think Maestra would end up liking it more though!
[The Primarina turns back to the camera, and then flails his fins about in a fuss-- Don't film now! He's not ready! He looks silly! Kazuki just laughs with a yeah yeah and turns the camera back to selfie mode.]
Lavender Town had plenty of my favorite thing-- Music! But I've heard that Olivine has plenty of my second favorite thing-- Food! Does anyone have any recommendations? Or any other fun stuff to do? I hang around in every city I stop by for about a month, so I've got plenty of time to take it all in. And maybe by the time we set off again, Tonks'll learn to swim!
[Another indignant wail comes from off screen as Kazuki turns his feed off.]

There's a really awesome breakfast and lunch place right near the water front you should check out. This old couple runs it and they're really nice. But honestly, if you're going to spend time there, just try it all. I've been living in Olivine for the past few months and it's amazing!
[Hands down his favorite place.]
Oh, and don't be surprised if you see a bunch of Magikarp and Gyarados. They're harmless, I promise. [A pause.] Just don't try to catch them.
[Video]
[DID SOMEBODY SAY BRUNCH? Tonks shuffles up from the shore to join Kazuki on the PokeGear-- Oh, hi Quay! Guess who's a Primarina now? Tonks gives him an enthusiastic wave.]
I'll be sure to check it out! And yeah,I decided to come here next because I heard so many people've decided to live here, so it must be really nice!
A school of Gyarados? Did'ja hear that, Maestra? [He calls out to his Furret.] If you see a bunch of Gyarados or Magikarp, leave 'em alone!
[Video]
[Noctis can't help but laugh at the other's enthusiasm while Quay just beams, clapping her flippers together. Oh you look amazing, Tonks! Congratulations on evolving!!]
It's a really relaxing place and you really can't beat living near the beach. Plus! The Safari Zone is just a ferry ride and a few days hike away!
[And really, what's not to love about the Safari Zone?]
Like I said, they're harmless they just..tend to like to rough house with one another a lot and it can end up being a little intense for other people around them.
[Video]
Got it. [He's not worried about Maestra though. She's a gentle Pokemon that prefers to avoid conflict.] Are they friends of yours?
[Video]
[Especially if it was a nice day out. Eat your fill then nap in the afternoon sun~
Kazuki's question about the Safari Zone gets an excited look out of the prince because oh let him tell you everything!]
It's awesome, dude. Seriously! There's all these different areas and you can either pick one to go into or pay to visit six of them and they give your Pokeballs to use and you just basically get to have a free for all catching whatever Pokemon you want! Each area is different so there's one that's mountains, one that's a beach, one that's a swamp--all different environments so there's tons of different Pokemon! It's the best!
[He had way too much fun there.]
Ah..they're kind of all mine? I caught most of them and then they...had a lot of eggs.
[Video]
That's kinda like another guy I know who wants to catch a whole bunch of Wailmer. [Kazuki laughs.] Did you release them here, or do they travel with you sometimes?
[Video]
[He and Ash had spent a lot of time running around like the idiots they were. It was honestly surprising they hadn't been kicked out.]
You know Armin, huh? [Noct can't help but grin.] They travel with me sometimes. I've actually got six of them with me right now since I'm heading to take on my last gym with them.
[Video]
Six of them? They're all Gyarados, then? Are gyms really so tough that you'd need six Gyarados to beat them?
[Video]
[Speaking of which, he really needed to reach out to the blonde sometime soon.]
Yeah, all Gyarados. It's a Dragon gym so it's a little tougher than normal but I kind of just wanted to challenge myself. I taught each one of the Gyarados different specialty attacks so one has Fire attacks, one has Lightning, etc. I just want to see what sort of strategy I can put together using only Gyarados.

[Jean is looking altogether too intense for such an innocent discussion.]
They have burritos there.
[They... have burritos everywhere, but Jean eats them wherever he goes, so they're his default recommendation.]
video;
[There's like, one Taco Bell in Shibuya, and otherwise, I don't think Japan is into Mexican food.]
What are they?
video;
[Finally, a food Jean knows about that Kazuki doesn't!]
You need to go! It's called a Mexican food and they're these flat, thin pieces of bread with meat and cheese and sauce rolled up inside. You can even hold them in both hands and eat them.
video;
Oh! Mexican! That's a country in my world! I've never had their food before though. So a burrito is like a rolled-up sandwich? Is it spicy too?
video;
[So now Jean knows about three countries in other people's worlds: Japan, Mexican, and German, which apparently shares a language with the one they speak back in his home world. Very curious.]
Yeah, it's like a rolled up sandwich! You can get them spicy if you want, but be careful, because the spices will make you have to shit.
[He learned this from personal experience. Don't make the same mistake.]

video;
[Geography!]
Tell them you want it mild. Just trust me on this. You can add the spices later if you want, because there's this red sauce you can squirt on them.
video;
Oh! Like rooster sauce? I've only had that a couple of times, but I liked it!

[He pauses, chuckling.]
I'd normally suggest the beaches, too, but this time of year... well, I guess if you don't mind it being chillier, it's not too bad.

I don't mind the shore, but yeah, the water is still too cold for me right now. Tonks and Maestra don't seem to mind it though! [Tonks is an arctic animal, so the water's no big deal to him, and Furrets must have waterproof fur or something. Can you believe they can learn Surf?] I'll have some beach time next month when I check out the Sevii Islands.
no subject
[But he finds that unlikely. Change here is gradual, and he can't see the locals replacing their prized light source so easily.]
I get you, though. A cold beach just isn't the same. But maybe that's just the islander in me talking. Even after all these years, I still prefer the summer weather.

[It must be really strong,like level 100 or something.]
Do you live somewhere tropical? Japan's technically an island too, but it's still cold in the winter. 'Cept maybe in Okinawa.
no subject
[But who knows? Maybe it's changed.]
And yeah, definitely tropical. We're talking palmtrees, beaches, the whole nine yards.

I'm Kazuki, by the way! I don't think we've met!

So I was in a pretty big hurry to leave it behind.
[That was ages ago now, and he does kinda miss it, but being able to explore such a large region has spoiled him.]
Anyway, name's Riku.

[Except Riku didn't just go to the city, he explored other worlds. Not that Kazuki would understand that.]
Hi Riku! Been here long?
