[Much like everyone else suffering from server outage, Jotaro turns to the internet for help. If you watch the video he uploads, you’ll see him at his temporary camp in Mount Moon, looking tired and haggard.

What’s more obvious than his location is the sound of the trumpet in the background, a cacophonous noise that clashes with the ever-present background music (and is more suited in Hoenn). It’s evident that Jotaro’s Pokemon hear it too, given Jotaro’s Palafin is twitching and his Kingambit is glaring around them for the invisible source in the background. After ten seconds, the trumpet stops and Jotaro sighs in relief. He finally looks at the camera].

I know I’m not the only one with strangers’ Pokemon so I’ll cut to the chase. Whose Pokemon is this?

[And almost as if on cue, Jotaro is dunked with a bucket of water, soaking him completely. Jotaro hisses and behind him there’s a Haunter laughing. Jotaro glares at the Pokemon but Phantom the Haunter zips away before either Jotaro or his irritated Pokemon can retaliate.

Jotaro purses his lips. He considers several strong words but grits his teeth and continues as calmly as he can manage.]

And if you don’t know whose Pokemon this is, what Pokemon is this? This guy has been pranking me all day. He's graffitied my face, scrambled my notes and has been tormenting my Pokemon...

[Jotaro looks like he's five seconds from sending Phantom to the afterlife... He's about had it and it's been less than a day...]

[It's a little later in the day by this point, and Min-Gi has the gist of what's gone wrong... just not the location of all his Pokémon yet. His face is pinched with poorly concealed concern as he sets up the camera. It's a little awkward thanks to the miserable looking Minun curled up in one arm.]

Okay, so... I'm guessing we all already figured out we have a problem. I'm still looking for some of my Pokémon. I have pictures if--

[He's about to hold up the first, but the Minun he's holding seems to perk, rolling over in the crook of his arm and making grabby paws at the picture.]

You want to...?

[The Pokémon nods, somehow looking even more mournful as he begs for the picture. Min-Gi sighs, relenting as he lets him take it.]

Okay, but you've gotta hold it up.

[Min nudges him until he stands, stretching out his little arms to show a photo of a Plusle.]

This is Ry. He's my Plusle. And... [Another picture is placed over the first one, held in place until the Minun gets a proper grip.] Saffron, my Gogoat. One more, Min-un. [This time the picture he slips into his paws is of a Mabosstiff and a Froslass peeking from behind her.] That's Toque, and Ryan's Froslass Boo.

If anyone has them, can they please let me know? I think Saffron will be okay as long as she knows what's going on, but Ry... Ry doesn't do too well without Min-un, and Boo gets nervous even without getting pulled out of the box by some stranger. I'm not sure about Toque. She's friendly, but she's still kind of new to the team.

[By this point Min-un has lowered the photos enough he can peek over the top of them, giving anyone watching his saddest eyes. They widen in surprise as he's scooped up so Min-Gi can stand, picking up the PokéGear so he can show the Pokémon that had been out of frame. A Thievul is laid out on the floor with a Woobat fluttering excitedly around his head.]

I'm keeping these guys safe if anyone knows them. Sort of. [He sounds hesitant to continue, but also... he kind of wants to shame one of them for an incident that had happened earlier. He's annoyed enough that pettiness wins out over keeping quiet on what might be seen as a potential slip up on his part.] The Thievul did get out earlier. I had to give the breeder a few doors down one of their eggs back.

[Yeah, he doesn't sound thrilled about that. Not that the Thievul looks like he feels any remorse. Though he sounds even more ticked off only moments later when there's a shout of "shit for brains!" from the next room. When the camera turns around he looks like he's doing the best he can to cover Min-un's ears with one hand.]

Oh, yeah. And Ryan ended up with someone's foulmouthed Murkrow.

[The PokeGear opens on a wing of the natural history museum in Cascarrafa. The most visible display is a timeline about the Age of Exploration in Paldea, trailing all along one wall of the hallway and through various artifact shadowboxes and other such displays. There’s a scan along this wall for a moment before Huey pops up, eyes practically glowing.]

Look at all this incredible information! Like- hold on-

[BLURRY. Then he points out a specific part of the timeline.]

Did you know the academy that’s hosting us was created over 800 years ago??

[He grins.]

I could spend weeks in this city! There’s all kinds of museums here-

[There’s a sigh from someone-off camera, before Louie leans into the shot. He doesn’t look nearly as excited as Huey - quite the contrary - but there’s some amusement in his expression, all the same.]

Yeah, we’re not doing that. Our next stop is to check out the place across the street selling antiques. [He turns to his brother with a smirk.] After all, Hue, you’re not the only one whose birthday it is today.

[That gets a snort out of Huey who rolls his eyes, though not without a smirk of his own.]

Fine. [And back to the PokeGear] Point is, if you like history, be sure to swing by Cascarrafa’s museums.

[Louie snickers, laying his arms over his brother’s head and teasingly leaning against him to get better in frame… And to be a nuisance, of course.]

And if you want to help two recently reunited triplets celebrate their birthday, we will accept any and all gifts!

[That gets a squawk out of Huey.]

Across the Pokémon world, characters may have spotted a falling star last night. Or at least, one would think that's what it was: a naturally occurring phenomenon, rather than a legendary artifact. Specifically, the Reveal Glass fell to earth during a fight among a group of legendaries started by the return of a long-lost family member. But it's probably best to leave them to handle all that themselves, while your characters deal with other consequences.

The Reveal Glass shattered upon impact, and the shards scattered throughout Kanto, Johto, and the Sevii Islands… And made their way into the hearts of your characters. But bleeding isn't the concern here. Instead, the impact will hit when a character first looks into any reflective service. An eerie feeling hits them as they're transported to the Mirror Dimension.

While this realm can be many different things for different characters, one thing is always true: It is a place of honesty, where true selves are revealed. Those struck by a shard will find themselves facing truths they are no longer able to hide, and now must accept. Fortunately enough, even those who haven't been struck will be able to enter the Mirror Dimension during this event via a reflective surface to offer help. By the end of the 29th, things will return to normal. Characters will be back in the usual Pokémon world and their hearts will be rid of the shards, but time is strange in the Mirror Dimension, and the experience may feel like it goes on far longer than a day. Or, maybe that's just the emotional exhaustion.

The Reveal Glass plot is here. You can swing by the event info post for additional details and FAQ, and play out your characters’ enforced therapy on this post. As with most VR events, this plot is entirely optional and your characters don't need to take part at all.

[Riku... is not in his late 20's anymore. In fact, he's back to being a teenager, and he stares at the camera with an air of exasperation as several of his Pokémon lurk around him.]

Okay, is someone gonna explain what's going on here? There's teleport pads now. I've got a ton of Pokémon I've never even heard of, and now apparently there's a "fairy type"? Since when?

My Weavile talks. I've got more than one Charizard, and one of 'em's black. Sora's not here. Ven's not here. Can't even contact Applejack, Lightning, or Leon...

[There's an audible groan as he brings a hand to his face.]

Oh, and the year's different, too. So what gives? This world pulling another fast one on us?

The video feed opens to.. not Sion, actually, but rather a shot of the exterior of a building. Those who have been to or otherwise seen the Collegiate Gym will probably readily recognize it, though, and before anyone who doesn't wonders too Sion's voice can be heard.

"As co-leaders of the Aurora League's first and oldest gym, the Collegiate Gym, Ryner and I are pleased to announced that a new expansion is now open for us."

The camera proceeds to pan smoothly to the side, showing--sure enough--that definitely is a new, smaller building off to the side of the main one.

"The Physical Fitness Center features equipment and space for Pokémon and humans alike to train up outside of battling. Like the rest of the gym it is open to the public, with similar hours of operation. There are also several rooms that can facilitate group activities, should anyone wish to host classes that are rather more physical nature than a typical classroom allows for.

"As always, any questions can be directed to either Ryner or myself, or you can simply stop by the gym any time during regular hours."

The feed lingers on the brand new building a moment or so longer before turning off. Huh, that's a little odd that Sion never showed his face the entire time. Perhaps he's just excited about the new expansion?

[The feed opens on Joey and a Bisharp standing in front of a slot machine. Both wear ecstatic expressions as the machine dispenses coin-after-coin, and Joey holds a confused looking Dratini above his head as he cheers. Noise from the other machines and patrons occasionally cuts through the pair's exultation, but the majority of sound pouring through the feed comes from their cheers.]

Yo we did it! We made out like bandits!

[Joey thrusts the Dratini forward for the camera to see.]

Me and Hermos here have been killin' it on da slots, so dis lil' jackpot here marks twelve and a half grand we've managed to carve out! We got ourselves a big ol' chunk'a change and scored dis' heckin' baloon animal-lookin' Pokémon too! There's no stoppin' da wheels on da Joey Train!

[Atem's been in Johto for a little while. He's been shoo'd out of a strange bedroom by a strange woman into a strange town with strange music playing on loop in the air. He's been trying to process the events of the past couple of hours--New Bark locals may have caught him brooding by the lake, contemplating the abrupt mood whiplash from where he was to where he is--and has come to the conclusion that this must be a dream of some kind. Unless, somehow, he blanked out during his Ceremonial Duel with Yugi and this is a colorful afterlife where no one from his past seems to be.]

[And that's not even touching on the large, very strange creature that, unbeknownst to him, has decided he's something of an ancient building himself and has taken to protectively circling him as if on a track.]

[After his initial bout of getting in his head about the whole thing, he decided to ask for help with this...PokéGear. It looks like one of these but dark purple and he's never seen anything like it. No one he knew had phones that fit in pockets, but if Kaiba Corp can make hologram machines, then why not someone make tiny phones? Tiny phones that can do...too many things for Atem to keep track of at the moment. For now, a kind local has shown him posting functions. Posting to where? Atem doesn't understand. But he's trying to roll with it.]

I've never seen so much green before! The grass is so soft and the way the wind blows through the trees... It's all so wonderful.

[I never thought I'd get to experience any of this.. Domino City had pockets of greenery here and there but still place is so different.]

I'm afraid I'm still not 100% certain on how things work here but I've got the jidst of it. The music is going to take some getting used to, that's for sure. Is there some speaker system it's coming from...?

[Another pause as he debates whether or not to ask the question that pops into his head.]

Hn... Is there another way to catch pokemon? Other than fighting and weakening them, I mean. It seems... kind of cruel to beat the poor thing up and then stuff it into a pokeball. I'm honestly just used to handling cards, not live animals.

[He mutters to himself]

It's still strange to think that these are real creatures and not just holograms...

[Accidental video, but a video. This thing looks like a phone crossed with a laptop, and Abbacchio is from the early 2000s. Webcams weren't much of a thing in the early 2000s.

[The video clicks on to show an exasperated Riku. He's up on the roof of the Training Center while a very loud Aerodactyl and Pidgeot shriek at each other. Seems the two are competing for... something. There's even a rather lean and mean looking Drogonite barreling between them.

Riku brings a hand to his face and moans.]

...Yeah. I could use a vacation.

[But enough about that. He addresses the camera:]

So. Another year, another prom. I don't know about you, but I'm... kinda skeptical about the whole thing.

[He pauses, ducking as Highwind sails over his head. Riku really shoulda brought a helmet.]

We all know something's gonna happen, right? Something always happens at prom. Ultra Beasts. Yamask possession. Giant Pokemon. Team Rocket attack... At this point, more proms have gone haywire than not. No wonder the Elite Four stopped hosting it, y'know? We're... kind of a handful.

[Speaking of handfuls... that Dragonite, Draco, has grabbed Terror the Aerodactyl in a headlock and is BaooOooOOO-ing to show his supremacy. Classy.]

Guess the question is, what'll it be? We got new Pokemon showing up again. That's usually a precursor to something big.

Place your bets now, I guess. I could use a distraction from this.

[He gestures out at his warring Pokemon, then grumbles to himself.]

I swear, the second I turn this place into a gym, I'm gonna have to have a serious talk with my team.

Question.

[Iwaizumi had been thinking about this for a while now. And after having won his first gym battle, after a few weeks of training his Pokémon with Oikawa, the question had played on his mind even more.]

What's the end game here?
You battle these gym leaders of staggered levels. There's bigger and better gyms after that. But what's the goal? What do you get at the end of it?

[Prestige didn't seem worth it if everyone was aiming for the same thing. It wasn't unique. As far as he could tell it was just something to do. Was it fun? Sure. The same way beating a tough level in a video game was fun. He'd go for the next as well for that same reason. He wanted to beat the final boss.

But being the 'real world', just what happened once the game was over. When the final boss was defeated?

Iwaizumi was curious. The video showed him, sat in a pokecenter while his Pokémon were being looked after, just genuinely curiously asking the masses what they thought the end would look like.]

[Along the side of one of the roads not far from New Bark Town since he had really just started out, sat Ulaz as he began his post. He was human now rather than Galra and a white mohawk. Those might have been still been somewhat normal, but the yellow pupils in his eyes probably weren't]

I am curious. Is is common place to name the creatures that you are either given or obtain? I have been wondering if she...

[A pause as turned the camera towards a rather rambunctious poochyena, who was indeed chasing off the wild and very dangerous... caterpie. Once she had successfully scared it off, she turned back around and came trotting back to her trainer, clearly proud of herself..

Ulaz turned the camera back to himself]

Would like a name other than calling her by what she is. I was curious how common it was to name them.

Um... How do you feed a pokemon that bites?... A lot.

[And slowly a hand holding a bowl of pokemon food reached into frame, wearing some chainlink gloves. It turns out that gift had a purpose other than hi5-ing pawniard/bisharp. Because the little, freshly hatched Deino immediately went to bite Mikasa's hand. Just completely ignoring the bowl of food.

Oh wait. He just bit the bowl. Not the food inside the bowl, just the bowl. Then it was back to gnawing on Mikasa's hand.]

This is a question for people who have been here for a very long time.

[The person speaking doesn't show their face onscreen, but sounds like a young woman. It's like they want to stay anonymous. but don't have the technical know-how to do that, so the public at large gets a view of boring berry bushes.]

Do you ever feel like you don't really belong here even after so long? I... I mean, I know none of us do since we're all from different worlds? But some people are happy... most people are happy? They're happy here. They have nice lives like they didn't have back where they're from, but you don't. Something always goes wrong or you're dumber than everybody else no matter how hard you try to learn and your friends keep leaving and even after they say it's okay to be their friend so you're stupid and believe them and all that happens is they leave again and you're the dummy. And you don't look like the other people so you're not pretty or handsome or anything like that and those books with the shiny pictures [they're called magazines, you sweet child] say you should look one way, but you don't no matter how hard you try.

[That was a little bit of a thought dump there, but if she stays on one idea too long, Sasha is afraid she'll start crying and soldiers aren't supposed to show emotion, at least none except anger because then anger can be used to get a mission done. Even this network post is breaking that rule.]

But you can't go home because home is bad and whoever picks people to go home never picks you anyway, so you just have to stay here and be...

[She wants to say "dumb and sad and lonely and ugly", but continues on without finishing.]

What do you do?
