Who: Keith and residents of Sevii Island
Where: Sevii Islands
When: Throughout March
Summary: Keith is new and has to meet whoever's been looking after his friends. Probably specific log starters later in the month who knows.
Rating: G? Probably PG? We Just Don't Know

A. Do You Wanna Ride?
The little bit of sleep he got at Cherrygrove didn't really prepare him for the flight over. Sure, the speed and actual flight itself didn't bother him much, but the length of time it took wore him down again. Maybe a solid day of sleeping would do some good. Keith watches the change in weather as they get to the islands. He's accepted this is real and not delirium. But it doesn't stop astounding him. This is where they've been all this time.

The minute he's landed, Keith is getting his litten out of its ball. He hadn't wanted to put her back in there, but it was the best way to travel with her over this long a distance. But they're out and about on the beach, exploring the immediate area on the way to the house and getting a look at the island.

B. Hidden in the Sand
So, after a solid eighteen hours of sleep, Keith feels a little refreshed. Enough to explore a bit further. The water is .... okay, but not really to his liking. So Keith goes the opposite direction, inland and to the trees. His litten seemed insistent to walk before him, listening in for anything. It's almost cute.

"Come on, I'm sure there's nothing out here." If Matt and Shiro both live out here, it's bound to be safe. Probably.

Except when there absolutely is. Litten stops and arches her back, growling when there's a rustle up ahead. Keith wishes he had his knife, but there's only so much you can do against -- a ball? His shoulders drop a little as he watches this red-and-white ball roll closer, then stop. Then turn to face them with an actual face. And then there's a second. And a third, fourth.

He's already losing count.

"Uh."

How are you supposed to wrestle a ball?

C. First Transition

If Keith isn't outside or asleep, he's in whatever common room is set up in the house. Studying was never his strong suit, most of it going over his head. He's better at practical application, learning things by doing. But in this case, that would only get his litten hurt. Not something he wants to risk. So Keith will try things the nerd way: sitting and reading, trying to cram all this into his head and keep it there. Pokemon, pokemon types, pokemon skills, pokemon natures, and abilities and levels and evolutions - it's a lot.

And he's only gotten through what he's been able to record on the island itself, which isn't much. He growls looking through the dex, his little lifting her head only to lay down again.

"This is stupid."

It'd be better to just walk out the door and do this himself. But that soft purring against his leg on the couch is the only thing keeping him from doing it.

[ooc; if you'd like something specific, let me know and I'll toss up a starter! Going to be using this throughout March.]

Good, the human gets it. You might be all right, Shaggy Head. Blitz will withhold judgment until he's seen further evidence of your character, but for now, you get a pass.

For now.

The Voltorb submits to being sniffed with good grace; it knows all about fire cats, living on an island with three Incineroars running around, so it's not bothered. It nudges Litten back, then turns back towards Blitz. It waggles a little, almost like a cat getting ready to pounce, then rolls forward as fast as it can and collides with Blitz. Blitz rolls backwards dramatically, and the Voltorb turns around to look at Litten, waggling its eyes suggestively. Want to help it wrestle down the big one?

Blitz rolls as soon as Litten lands on him; her scant weight isn't enough to actually send him backwards, but playing like this is how the little ones learn. He'll be encouraging. The Voltorb barrels towards him too, bouncing off Blitz's side and crackling happily. Hooray! Fun!
notvaljean: (huh?)

Blitz shoots Shaggy Head a Look(tm), and then goes rolling again when Litten bats at him. Look at her, fierce warrior, mightier than the death ball! He is vanquished!

... except he rolls upright again and starts crackling conversationally, directing his attention to Litten and the young Voltorb, completely ignoring Keith. Okay, this is all well and good, but if you're going to battle, you've got to mean it. He wants to see what they both have, and don't hold back; he's level 100, there's very little either of them can do to hurt him. Child #246, he wants you to tackle him, and Little Fire Cat, he wants you to Scratch. Take turns, don't get in each other's way, and don't hold back. Ready?

"Blitz, what are you doing?"

Jean heard loud crackling, meaning Blitz is on patrol, and then saw the other Voltorbs rolling away, so he came to investigate. He comes crashing out of the underbrush and stops short when he sees Keith.

"Oh... hey."

The little Voltorb is too geared up to stop what it's doing, and charges Blitz, as requested, hitting with a resounding crack and then bouncing off. Blitz rolls backwards, making the crackling noise that's his version of laughter, but stops when he realizes the Litten hasn't attacked him too. What gives?

Look out, Keith: you're getting a death stare from Blitz now.

"What?" Jean glances at the Litten and the little Voltorb. "They can't hurt him, if that's what you're worried about. Seriously, if he's offering to train with them, they can go nuts."

Blitz crackles; he is strong and mighty! The children can't hurt him! And he won't pick on them!

"You're Shiro's friend, right?"
notvaljean: (confident chibi)

"He won't hurt them." For whatever reason, Blitz likes all the young Pokemon around the island--probably because he views them as recruits for his ever-growing army--and Jean knows he can be trusted not to hurt any babies. Preschoolers who dare to challenge Jean, though, are fair game.

Blitz rolls forward to bump up against Keith's shin. The little Voltorb follows suit and tries to bump the other leg, looking up with beseeching eyes. Give them their playmate back!

"Oh! He told me about you!" The one with the knives! Jean smiles and offers his hand. "I'm Jean. Nice to meet you."

"He's my starter. Been with me since the beginning." Jean points at the young Voltorb. "That's one of his. He and his wife have been... hatching a lot of them."

As Keith may have noticed.

Once Litten is down, Blitz actually backs off, rolling away and giving her space. The little Voltorb, on the other hand, starting wiggling just like a cat waggling its butt, something it learned watching the Incineroar brothers. Come at him, bro!

"See? They're playing. It's fine."
notvaljean: (BECAUSE IT'S COOL)

"I don't know if they can? That's what one of my friends said about them, so..." Jean shrugs. So Blitz and Donner are married now, and since Jean hasn't been corrected with excessive zapping, he assumes they're okay with the new label.

Blitz shakes off the fire spat at him without any difficult, and then crackles encouragingly to Litten. Yeah, that's it! Hit him again! Show off your fireworks!

"See, what'd I tell you? He's helping train her."
