cyan_maid: Jane doesn't know what the fuck is going on (What is even going on?)

16th Recipe [Video, Goldenrod City; backdated to 3/3/18]

[So thunderstorms usually aren't a big deal, right? It's a thing that happens, part of nature, and it's in March. March weather is supposed to be wacky. But there are some things that are too wacky for some people, and judging by Jane's expression as she turns on her 'gear, she is one of those people. It...looks like she's in the Department Store? And out near the entrance to the rooftop of all places?]

Um...so, maybe this isn't too weird in the grand scheme of this place, but...if you're not in a city, you need to see this.

[And Jane turns the camera to look out onto the rooftop, where three Electabuzz have gathered, all shouting loudly at each other in their ridiculous, babbling cry. One gestures out over to the Radio Tower, another is pointing to the rooftop they're currently on, and the third stands between them, growing more anxious and confused by the second.]

I think they're trying to pick out someplace to climb? But why in this weather-

[It's soon enough that Jane's own question is answered, when a lightning bolt strikes down and slams into the middle Electabuzz, sending the other two flying to opposite ends of the roof. She squeaks and backs away nervously, but you can still see the middle one as sparks trail over its arms and body, and it...smacks its lips and cries out in triumph?]

...What the fuck?!

[You know who works at the Department Store while they're in Goldenrod, Jane? This girl.]

Maybe it's. Part of how they feed? Like when Amber was still a Joltik, she would eat from electrical sockets or batteries, or anything staticky. Jolty still does.
in4apounding: (huh)

I don't think they usually let wild Pokemon in at all, if they can help it.

[This is where she caught her Pikachu, but they were definitely just causing trouble and stealing things when she did.]

Maybe whoever saw them decided it would cause more damage trying to stop them?

[Cause. Look at this.]
in4apounding: (i am so confused)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2018-03-12 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
At least they don't look like they're hurting anything?

[She watches them a second longer.]

...Except maybe themselves, I guess. If eating electricity is like eating normally it seems like lightning might lead to a stomachache.
in4apounding: (let me explain u a thing)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2018-04-01 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, maybe? I guess- ...would you call lightning "wild" electricity? But I guess it would taste different than whatever came out of batteries or power lines.
in4apounding: (well that's just improbable)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2018-04-01 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
That's right, they say big cities like this can sort of influence the weather, don't they. I'd bet city lightning is a lot different than, say, ocean lightning!

[She thinks for a second.]

Hm. Once we get home I should ask Amber and Jolty if they'd like to try some, if they can. Under supervision.
in4apounding: (inspect our navels)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2018-04-03 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Having a ground-type on hand would definitely be a good idea, if nothing else.
in4apounding: (well that's just improbable)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2018-04-03 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Lavender is part ground, I think? She's flying type too, so she wouldn't have a problem with heights. Or handling Amber if she got out of hand.

[How is a purple stabby bat part GROUND? Probably best not to question it too much.]
in4apounding: (um)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2018-04-04 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know, but I've seen her pop up out of the ground and straight up into the air. It's weird. Cool, but weird.
in4apounding: (well that's just improbable)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2018-04-05 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
That's- ...actually a very good summary, I think.

...Once I saw a broadcast about a giant ghost and ground type that could fly. The actual move fly, not just. You know, hovering the way most ghosts do.

[Now here's a girl that's not at the department store, but rather watching the storm from through one of the windows of Honeyed Soul.]

I always knew that electric type Pokemon were a little strange... but I never thought it was this strange. They just seem to... actually eat the electricity.

I guess they can be a little shocking...

[....No, she didn't mean that.]

I've been told that before. Usually my puns get a more charged response.

Ohh... [the master....]

I guess wire we're still talking about this, those Electabuzz are pretty charged up, right? Like they came all the way to the top of the department store for a lightning storm.

I wonder how they'll get down.

...Whaaaaaaat the hell did I just watch.

[personal profile] secondhandsome 2018-03-07 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
It's definitely weird, whatever it was... You know, I don't really get a lot of weird shit some Pokemon get up to, but this is topping the list right now.

It's, uh, real unnerving.
secondhandsome: (001)

[personal profile] secondhandsome 2018-03-08 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'd stay the hell away from there.

...I mean, I'd do that anyway, because that's very high up, but still.

[personal profile] secondhandsome 2018-03-08 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I dunno, I'd say a roof is uh... high enough.

[But he also has crippling acrophobia, so.]

...Pokemon are so weird. I guess this is just... nature. Weird, weird nature.
