[So the weather is a bit on the meh side, wet and cold and all around a bit gloomy, and while Noct's been a bit down because of a recent departure his Pokemon have been doing their best to keep his spirits up. Today is no different though this time it seems like the goal is try and perk everyone up!

Noct is briefly in view as he turns his 'gear on, smiling faintly with a half-hearted wave before he turns the 'gear around to focus on...that's a lot of Kricketunes. Seriously why are there so many of them? There's at least ten of them around the makeshift campsite the prince has set up and a large Gyarados--probably Stir Fry--is curled around the entire thing. Nyx the Froakie and Robin Hood the Clauncher are sitting on the serpent's body while in the midst of the Kricketunes is Quay the Popplio, giving instructions to them before clearing her throat and clapping her flippers together.

She doesn't have her entire get-up this time since they're on the road but that doesn't seem to be stopping her from leading her new friends in song.

Apparently they've been practicing this for awhile because the Bugs seem to have it down perfectly while Quay sings along, the Popplio sitting upright on her tail and belting the song out with all her might.

So I'm not a big fan of bugs...but Kricketunes are pretty awesome.

But there are so many around right now holy crap.

They're drowning out the music I usually hear whenever I travel.

Extremely. Mine changed after I beat a bunch of the gyms but it's still obnoxious sometimes.

I would say what you've got going on right there is an improvement but I might be a little biased.

Oh I definitely won't argue with you there. I'd take this any day. (And thankfully it does happen most days.)

Okay so whenever you hear someone mention a swarm it means there's more of a certain type of Pokemon appearing than normal.

In this case, Kricketunes.

Only because Quay taught them their part. Before she did they were all making different noises and it wasn't terrible but it was pretty annoying.

It's pretty terrible when they aren't working together.

I'll have to try the whole getting them to actually listen to each other and match thing. Maybe the two I accidentally caught can give it a shot.

I've heard worse Pokemon sounds though so I'd rather it be these guys.

Might be worth a try. You might be able to get them to play some nice music for you in the future.

[At first, Kazuki is nowhere to be seen on the feed. Honky Tonk the Primarina and Xylo the Kricketune are both watching intently. Tonks rests his head on his flippers and Xylo twitches his mustache thoughtfully. He seems to be trying to figure out how to replicate the guitar sound the other Kricketune are making.]

[When the song is done, Tonks claps enthusiastically. Good job, Quay!]

[Taking a deep breath as she finishes her song, Quay blinks then immediately blushes, ducking her head into her flippers. Oh, thank you, Tonks!

The Kricketunes gathered around all chirp and chitter, seemingly quite pleased with how the performance went while Nyx and Robin Hood both sound their approval as well.

Which of course just makes Quay blush even more.]

[Honky Tonk continues to chatter happily at Quay, but Xylo shuffles off to grab Kazuki. He needs to get this whole guitar thing down, and certainly his conductor will be able to help.]

What's up, buddy? Tonks, when did you get my Gear?

[The Primarina shows the feed off to Kazuki, and Xylo delicately points with one of his claws. Look at the other Kricketune! It reminds him of the swarm of Kricketot he lived in before Kazuki caught him.]

Oh, wow! Is that... That's Quay, isn't it? Were they having a performance?

[Xylo makes a plucking motion with his claw. Guitar! He wants to make a guitar sound!]

[Quay does her best to turn the praise around on Tonks because look at how amazing you look and you have to perform for her sometime you are probably just as amazing!

The sound of Kazuki's voice gets Noct's attention, though, and Quay manages to wave shyly before the 'gear is turned slightly so the prince is partially in view.]

Hey again. Yeah, they were performing--these Kricketunes are all over the place and Quay's been teaching them songs for a couple hours now.

Drowning out the background music would generally be considered a point in their favor. Especially if they do so by assisting with Quay's performance. How long have they been practicing?

[Quay blushes and hides behind some of the bugs as Noct chuckles and turns the 'gear so he can be seen now.]

A few hours. Quay got really excited when they all started popping up and started rounding up as many as she could to help her practice. Needless to say our traveling has been at a standstill.

The occasional interruption can be a boon to a journey, especially when it leads to such beauty. Besides, I'm sure they loved helping her just as much. I bet few trainers bother approaching them without intending to start a battle, and there's no doubt they love music.

I never thought about that. I guess most Pokemon are so use to being caught up in battles by trainers that when they do get approached for other stuff it's probably a real nice surprise for them.

[She's frowning because that song doesn't sound like anything she's heard before. But to be perfectly honest, the kind of music Sasha is used to sounds more like this.]

Are you going to keep all of them like the Magikarp?

[Look, Sasha's gotta know if Noctis needs an intervention here.]

What? No! No, oh man no. I think Quay is going to try and convince one of them to come with us but no. Just one. I don't even really like bugs all that much.

If there's a kind of music you really like, they'll learn it if you play it for them enough.
