[Mami smiled at the camera, her Budew bouncing in her arms making sure she's seen.]

I feel I should introduce myself. I'm Mami Tomoe, and this little one is Fiore. I do hope we can get alo-Fiore!

[She laughed as the baby pokemon batted the Pokegear out of her hand. The screen showed the sky for a moment before being picked back up by the girl.]

Sorry about that. Fiore's a little bit excited.

Nice to meet you Pamela. I arrived only a few hours ago actually. [a laugh] I'm still getting used to everything here. It's...a bit different from my home.

It can be. But it's quite pleasant really, I'm sure you'll get used to it.

I'm sure I will. Especially with so many kind people around. [The Budew wiggled around, and Mami giggled.] And Fiore here too, of course.

What kind of pokemon do you have?

Well, I have a type preference for Grass.

But in terms of what kind I have. [Ivy looks amused as she turns the camera to show over 65 Pokemon (many Grass types) frolicking around her.] That may be a long answer.

Oh my! You must have been here awhile then!

Grass types are like Fiore, right? [She was still learning types.]

I haven't met many other types of pokemon yet, but I do like flowers, so perhaps I may catch more.

Not too long. Under a year. Others have been here longer.

I'm just afraid that when it comes to Grass type I have little impulse control.

Well, you're certain to come across many more.

Well, it's understandable to want more of the type of friends that make you happy, right?

I do think I will catch more, but according to the handbook type matters in battle, so I should probably catch a variety...

Yes, if you plan on battling it's wise to have some variation.

[She didn't know what other paths there were to take yet.]

Then I'll need something to cover Fiore's weaknesses....Fire or electric or something...Right?

[Oh geez she has her handbook out again.]

Close, but not Electric no. Fire, Ice and Flying have the advantage over Grass types.

And your Fiore is also part Poison so you'll need to watch for Psychic types too.

So she's a dual type, then? That's good, I think. She doesn't know any poison type moves yet though...

That's alright.

Really, Grass types have weakness in Fire, Ice, Posion, Flying and Bug.

Whereas Poison have it in Ground and Psychic.

But because a Budew is dual typed, some of those weakness are cancelled out by other's strengths. Leaving you with Fire, Ice, Flying and Psychic.

It sound complicated but you soon find it second nature, don't worry.

And your gear can always help you identifying such things.

It really is good that you are dual typed Fiore! [After hearing the list of weaknesses, she's relieved. The budew chipped a bit.]

Budew is a very wonderful Pokemon and mine turned out to be quite the competent battler.

Rosa, come here, dear. [A small Roselia bounds its way into view and onto Ivy's shoulder.] This is Rosa. She was a Budew when I first got her, but she evolved into a Roselia shortly afterwards.

[Rosa waves one of her rosebud hands and chirps in greeting at the trainer and Budew.]

They can evolve again, but Rosa hasn't asked it of me yet.

[Oh good they get hands eventually]

That's good! I don't want to put Fiore in a situation where she's constantly struggling.

It's nice to meet you Rosa. [The Budew chirped back]

How do Budew evolve?

They evolve during daylight hours with 'happiness'. It's hard to measure but I've found simply spending time and bonding with them usually achieves what you're hoping for.

[Rosa chirps again, then suddenly the rest of Ivy's lap is covered with 3 Budew's who are all jumping up to see the screen.]

Oh, these are her children.

Well, I plan to spend a lot of time with her anyway.

Awww. They're all so adorable! [Fiore tried to jump into the screen with the other budew.]Oh hey, becareful. We wouldn't want you to fall and hurt yourself.

[Rosa and her children all chirp and call to Fiore happily and Ivy smiles.]

If you're ever in the area, I'm sure they'd be happy to meet Fiore.

That would be great! I have a feeling Fiore would love that. Thank you.

Where are you anyway?

Oh, I live in Azalea, just near the boarder of Ilex Forest.

Azalea... Azalea [She looked at her paper copy of the map.]

Yes. I should definitely be passing through there....at somepoint. [She needed to get to Cherrygrove first.]

Let me know when you do, dear. I'll be more than happy to meet you and little Fiore. Who knows? She may have evolved by then.

I will. [Mami looked down at her starter with a small smile.] Perhaps she will have.

Until then. [Ivy lazily waves her fingers and the Roselia waves a rose and her children bounce around.]
