[Mami smiled at the camera, her Budew bouncing in her arms making sure she's seen.]

I feel I should introduce myself. I'm Mami Tomoe, and this little one is Fiore. I do hope we can get alo-Fiore!

[She laughed as the baby pokemon batted the Pokegear out of her hand. The screen showed the sky for a moment before being picked back up by the girl.]

Sorry about that. Fiore's a little bit excited.

Isn't she?

[She's only had Fiore a few hours and she adores the baby pokemon. Said pokemon was waving excitedly at the new person, and chirpping.]

Thank you. It's touching how many warm greetings I've gotten. The Handbook seems to cover a lot of what I need to know right now, but I may take you up on that offer later.

Currently, I'm curious about your pokemon. She seems cute too. What kind is she? [Is Mami going to collect baby pokemon eventually? Maybe]

Trainers are pretty good about greeting new people and offering advice. It's after you've been here a few months they all start to drop off the radar. People get busy I guess?

[She smirks almost purring with pride over her little pink fluffball.]

This is a Cleffa. I got her from an egg someone was selling and...well frankly she's a little terror. I think most Cleffa tend to be cute and sweet but this one OW!

[The Cleffa will not be told she is not the sweetest, cutest little shit ever and so she bites her trainers hand in protest.]

Probably [She sighed. She was going to be alone here too, wasn't she?] At least I'll have Fiore still

If she's still young, maybe she'll grow out of it?

The important thing is if you make at least a couple of solid friends they'll stick with you forever. The first girl I met here is still my traveling partner after almost a year.

That's what I'm hoping for. [As she wraps bandages around her fingertips.]

Pokemon each have their own personality and quirks. Sometimes you just gotta figure out how to make it work for you.

[Too bad making lasting friends is something she's horrible at.]

I'm glad you were able to find someone like that.

Maybe you could channel her attitude and biting into pokemon battles somehow then?

As for this little Diva, we'll work something out. I think it's a matter of pride with her. I bet if I entered more Pokemon contests she'd be interested.

Pokemon Contests?

Yeah, they aren't as popular here as they are in other regions, but it's basically like you and your pokemon performing on stage for an audience. Instead of fighting they can dance or weight lift or whatever you think shows off their unique style.

I did it last year with my Incinaroar and we got hooked.

Oh. That sounds like a lot of fun actually. Maybe when I'm more settled I'll try one.

If they don't have an official one we'll host our own!

So what do you like to do? Maybe that'll help you figure out how to settle in around here?

Well, that's a bit of a difficult question.

I haven't had time for hobbies or anything in a number of years because I was -this may sound a bit weird- I spent all my time hunting witches as a magical girl.

Ah I get it. Yeah that does sort of get in the way sometimes.

But let's be specific here...what kind of witches were you fighting?

[Because she may not officially be a witch but she is very witch adjacent as far as her aesthetic goes.]

In my world witches are creatures born from curses. They feed off the negative emotions of humans, causing them to do drastic things. Unexplained suicides, murders without motive...They're even more dangerous to the public because they know how to do all this without being seen. They create these barriers and labyrinths to stay hidden.

Magical girls are the only defense the people of my world have against them.

Ah, well that's a relief. Some of my closest friends are witches.

[Jinx you didn't have that many friends before you got here in the first place.]

Sounds a little complicated though. How much Magical Power do you usually pack? Because if I had to slog through a labyrinth every time I had to defeat a monster I might consider a different job.

I'm assuming a different type of witch than I'm used to? [A giggle.]

I've been told I was quite powerful. And I tended to use my abilities in way people wouldn't always think of...I'd be lying if I said it were easy, but I made my choice several years ago, and I couldn't go back.

Not that I'd want to. I did get to keep living after all~ And a difficult life is better than being dead.

Well most of them weren't exactly nice but yeah, different.

Hmm...this is sounding pretty heavy. You sure you're OK talking about this where everyone can see?

I mean it's all the same to me. We've got a ton of people here who either are dead back home or in a situation that might be worse then death.

It's not something I'm hiding here. There's no point in it since witches and magical girls don't exist here. But I do think that's all I'm going to say about it in general.

What kind of life did you have before all of this...If you don't mind me asking, that is.

[That and lets face it...Jinx doesn't really wanna talk about death. She's got enough of that hanging around Walter.]

I was a super villain. Retired now but I had magic powers, secret lair, all the usual stuff.

I'm reformed now though so that's the end of that. Now a days I just travel around and do tourist stuff. There's so many cool places in this world and...frankly making money is way too easy. The pokemon do most of the work for me.

[The super villain comment made her hesitate. But she said she reformed apparently, she reminded herself.]

I'm glad you've reformed. What kind of cool places are there? I'm making a list of places to keep an eye out for.

I for one am a big fan of Mahogany town. Cozy fireplaces, cherry pie and an air of mystery to it.

Of course the beaches are nice and after a long winter a lot of people are traveling out that way. There are lots of weird pokemon out there on the islands too.

What sort of things do you look for when you're on a vacation? I've been around a bit maybe I can make a proper suggestion?
