[ Today's network post is coming to you from the Lake of Rage, where Ash is clearly sat in a boat. He's angled the camera to just show himself but it's pretty obvious he's hiding the person next to him. It sounds like Noctis. ]

Guys guys! So, me and Noctis have gone fishing at the Lake of Rage. There's some pretty cool Pokemon out here, but this is my first time fishing so I ain't having much luck. I caught a really cute Skrelp but, I need you all to see what Noctis here fished up. Now if you're thinking 'Wait, Noctis, isn't that the handsome Magikarp guy who has a horde of Gyarados that gives him domain over the seas?' You're completely right. So I'll give ya all five seconds to guess what he caught.

[ Five seconds pass, with Ash grinning. ]

Okay, if you guessed Magikarp... You're right! But you're also wrong! [ He finally turned the camera to show Noctis, complete with fisher's cap, cuddling a shiny golden Magikarp. ]

He caught a shiny one! I didn't know you could find these kinda Pokemon in the wild! I mean, it figures Noct would be the one to find a shiny Magikarp and all-
Ass! [ Noctis shoved Ash with a smile, who just laughed. ]
I'm just saying! You're basically the King of Karps, with your numerous mighty Gyarados steeds and a whole battling team of em. And now, a literal goldfish! So yeah I dunno how rare it is - except for super rare - but just, behold this man, and his magnificent god-damn Magikarp!

[Yeah needless to say Noctis was just a little bit over the moon right now. They had come to the lake for a fishing date after meeting up again in Mahogany so things were already amazing but now he had a Shiny Magikarp. A shiny Magikarp!

Tucking his new Pokemon's Pokeball into his jacket pocket, he let her back into the water and the golden fish poked her head out of the water, blowing a few bubbles. Noct just grinned, reaching out to pet her.]

Well since you've done announcing it to the world, you have to help me name her.

[He glanced at Ash and grinned wider while Christian the Lotad swam over to investigate their new friend!]

"I guess I can agree to that!" Ash smiled over at the Magikarp. He was fond of them too, after having seen Dish grow from a timid little fish to a towering sea snake. He hummed, thinking. His newly captured Skrelp was lurking just under the boat...somewhere.

"I'll be honest, the first name that came to mind was Mac Lir. And then Britannia. The first one is a guy's name but, he was like, an ancient Celtic god of the seas. Actually, Scuabtuinne got her name from him too; it was the name of his boat. And Britannia is a just as old name for the island I grew up on. But we were kinda well known for being pirates at one point, so there's this song about 'Britannia rules the waves'." He shrugged.

"Mac Lir...even if it's a guy's name, I kind of like it," Noctis mused as he looked out at the Magikarp again, watching as she swam a curious circle around Christian before diving down to peer underneath the boat more--most likely attempting to get a closer look at Ash's new Skrelp. "Britannia's really pretty though."

Decisions, decisions.

"I think I'll go with Mac Lir for her. Save Britannia for something else or maybe even get you to use it sometime." His gaze settled on his boyfriend again as he propped his chin in his hand, elbow resting on the side of the boat. "You totally need another Magikarp, Ash."

Aw thanks Mami! How's your travelling going? What kind of Pokemon have you picked up lately? Here, this is the Skrelp I caught; [ He adjusted the camera so she could see a Skrelp lurking just by the boat. She flared out her fins as Ash filmed her. ]

It's going well. I've caught a Pidgey now. According to what I've looked up, it should evolve into a pokemon big enough to fly on eventually. He's currently resting in his ball. The egg I was given is probably going to hatch soon, and I must say, I'm excited for that.

[She smiled at the pokemon.]

[Armin can't help but laugh a bit. Because of course, Noctis would catch a shiny Magikarp. Anything else would just be wrong.]

Ah, and congrats to you on catching a Skrelp too, Ash. They are really quite wonderful pokemon. The first pokemon I ever caught was a Skrelp.

Oh wow really? Just the first you ever caught or the first one you got by fishing?

Come to think of it I've never seen one before, even when I was on the islands with you. Do they evolve into something else?

The first one I ever caught. It took me a while to actually catch a pokemon because I took so much time trying to read as much as I could to prepare myself for it.

[He totally over-prepared. Because he is Armin.]

They do! At level 48, they evolve into Dragalge, which actually changes their water typing to a dragon typing.

Honestly I've never been one for fish but seeing how worked up you get over it is by far the most adorable thing I've seen on the network that wasn't a baby pokemon.

Oh yeah. See, he was thrown into this world from another kingdom and a horde of wild Magikarp found him and his starter Pokemon and took them in to teach him the way this world works and the laws of this land. Now whenever he walks by the water, they come up and say hi to him or join him and his ever growing school of Magikarp and Gyarados!
