Woah! [says a fucking idiot, who is clearly not as worried about this as he should be despite the whole creeping chill and all] What is that?

[He opens his mouth to ask another question at the same time a second Dementor decides to try and get its clammy wraithy self all up in his business, and the only reason it doesn't is because his Cofagrigus just bodily picked him up with all four arms and tossed him out of the way.

[Dammit, there was someone else here! Hermione pushes away her fear and focuses on her happiest memory - the day she made her first friends.]

EXPECTO PATRONUM!

[A silver otter shoots out from her wand, charging at the dementor, causing it to retreat to a safe distance. It hovers, waiting cautiously. Meanwhile Hermione runs over to Ford, grateful the spell worked this time.]

Are you okay? You have to get out of here - it's too dangerous!

[Ford is busy picking himself up off the ground and dusting off his button-down, still not nearly as concerned as he probably should be.]

That was fantastic! Mallory, I didn't know you could throw that far! [He rounds on Hermione, all smiles. Maybe the Dementors aren't getting to him quite as fast as they might otherwise simply because of his sheer hard-headed determination to be enjoying himself right now. It's a natural delight barrier or something.] And what was that thing you just did? Is that an otter? Is it a hologram, is that how it's floating?

[The dementor takes the opportunity while Hermione is distracted to dive closer, dodging attacks by Cyto and Umbra with ease. Hermione freezes as her world turns cold and dark, her breath misting.
