[Translation: Loki had seen the Murkrow, said that he wanted one and well, here they are.
Setting his menu aside, he orders a latte for himself and some poffins for Thursday before giving Boone a small grin.]
Pokemon really do have minds of their own. So hard to control sometimes.
no subject
[Boone's Skorupi seems to want to play with Thursday, nudging the feline pokemon with his tail.]
Guess that's one way to get a pokemon, though. Wonder if they would have come after you if you'd just caught it normally.
no subject
Come friend! Let's play!]
Who knows. Given they are a rather large family unit they may not have taken kindly to it no matter what we did.
[They're going to hate it when they go back for another. Can't just have one raven Pokemon.]
no subject
Guess not. Never had that problem with catching the pokemon I have so far, but I guess I never tried catching one of those.
[His Magikarp just sort of flopped onto land in front of him one day, and two of the pokemon he has were given to him. Pidgey was pretty docile, and Skorupi was the pokemon that followed him around from the start.]
no subject
[Probably something to do with the strange weekend.
Thursday dropped to his stomach then rolled onto his back, reaching a paw out over his head towards the scorpion Pokemon with a rumble-purr.
It gets a small grin out of the trickster as he leans back in his seat.]
How many have you collected for yourself?
no subject
[He shrugs. He didn't catch the Magikarp for any real reason other than he had a pokeball, and he could.]
Hoping that if I train him enough he'll learn something. If not, I guess I just won't make him fight.
[Pointy tilts his head, then tries and fails to roll over too. His tail kind of gets in the way.]
no subject
The trickster nods his thanks to the waitress and reaches for his latte to take a sip.]
Which Pokemon is that? The one that doesn't know anything?
[So he can avoid it.
Thursday rumbles encouragingly before he rolls back onto his belly when Pointy can't seem to roll himself over, purring at the other. Good try, friend!]
no subject
[He reaches for one of the little pokeballs at his belt, and holds it up so it opens. A large, orange and white fish starts to flop around on the ground. Skorupi looks curiously at the new pokemon, and reaches out gently to poke it.]
Use Splash.
[The Magikarp jumps up and flails uselessly in the air, before landing. Boone gives Loki a deadpan look.]
That's his only move.
no subject
Thursday.
[Loki's voice has a slight note of warning to it, enough that the feline slumps completely on the ground with a disgruntled rumble.
They both watch as the fish performs...wait what..did it do anything?]
Was that even a move? [The trickster stares at Boone looking extremely unimpressed.] What is the point of having that thing if it can't do anything?
no subject
[He shrugs, returning the Magikarp to its ball.]
Still holding out hope that it'll learn something one day. Otherwise, I've got no idea how these things would survive out in the wild.
no subject
[It has to at least have that going for it, right?
Taking another sip of his drink, Loki reaches for one of the Poffins and breaks a piece off, offering both Thursday and Pointy a piece.
What. He's there he might as well offer both creatures some.]
At the very least I now know which water type to avoid.
no subject
[He fiddles with his gear, then nods.]
Yeah, it evolves. Not sure what it evolves into, though. Don't have any data on that yet.
[So he supposes he'll just train Magikarp until it evolves into whatever it evolves into. Pointy seems delighted at the poffin, taking it between both points and holding it in front of its face so it can eat. Boone pushes some of the berries he ordered over to Loki's side, so he can have some too.]
no subject
Yes that sounds like it would absolutely be worth the effort to continue training.
[It's worthless now stop wasting your time.
Thursday is purring merrily as he munches on his bit of Poffin, quite pleased that he gets to share a snack with his new friend as well.]
Do the devices not come with all the data already in them? I hadn't bothered to really look through it.
[The trickster god nods his thanks as the berries are pushed over though he glances over towards the door as he notes some of the Murkrow getting knocked out of the way by an invisible--
And there's his Gengar barreling through the door, his Zorua appearing afterwards with a happy bounce, both of them giggling up a storm as they push the doors shut.]
Ah, there you two are.
no subject
[Well, honestly, he has nothing better to do here. And if he's training his other pokemon, why not train this one as well?
Pointy looks up from his poffin as the two pokemon come through the door, and Boone quirks an eyebrow at them.]
Hope they didn't bring the rest of those Murkrow with them.
no subject
[But this world was rather strange as a whole.
Because it's clearly going to take way too long since it's worthless. You could spend that time on a much more powerful Pokemon, Boone.
The Gengar and Zorua are wearing matching grins as they make their way over, the former holding an egg over it's head like a prized possession.]
I have no doubts they dealt with their fair share of them before making their way here, isn't that right boys?
[Narvi and Váli both snickered and nodded, the Zorua prancing over to Thursday to get a sniff of his poffin.]
no subject
[He puts the gear away, eyeing that egg. Pointy seems curious about the new pokemon, and goes over to Gengar, offering the rest of his poffin.]
Either way, guess you got that egg. Wonder how long it'll take to hatch.
[And if it'll be as pissy as those other Murkrow.]
no subject
I've been told it varies from species to species. Something about needing to walk a certain distance with eggs to get them to hatch or warm them with specific Pokemon.
[It was weird but one way or another they'd get it to hatch.]
Ideally I'd like to get a second and hatch them together.
no subject
[He hadn't really thought much about it.]
Took around a week. Why do you want two?
[Not that people can't have duplicates, he just wonders what Loki's plans for them are.]
no subject
[He'll have to test it out with this egg and the other one he plans to get.
Boone's question gets a somewhat thoughtful look out of Loki as he looks over at his Gengar and the egg it was guarding.]
..Call it a bit of an homage to someone from home.
no subject
[Boone nods at the reason.]
Yeah, I've been naming some of my pokemon after people I know back home. Don't know many pokemon yet so I can't say what I want in the future, but if a pokemon reminds me of someone I'll name it after them.
[He hands off a berry to his Skorupi, who settles down by his feet and starts to eat happily. He would give the rest of his pokemon berries here too, but... well, it's already getting crowded with four pokemon around them.]
no subject
A rather appropriate way to go about it if you ask me.
[Considering his Luxray was named after someone from home, though he'd done it subtly. His other two were as well but that was a rather well kept secret from home that he wasn't going to discuss anytime soon.
As Thursday loses the rest of his poffin to the impish little Zorua, Loki takes a couple of berries and holds them out to the giant feline, letting him lap them up.]
I've noticed most people seem to have something of a method--a plan to the Pokemon they collect. Is that your intention?
no subject
[Hence how he ended up with a Magikarp.]
Maybe I'll have more of a method once I figure out types and stuff better. Kinda want a fire pokemon, though.
no subject
[Not a bad way to go about things just not the way he intended to.
Especially since he was going to avoid that stupid fish like the plague.]
Oh? Fond of burning things to the ground?
no subject
Still don't really know what pokemon compliment each other, honestly. Maybe once I've got it figured out, I can build my team from that.
[Pointy stays in the team, though. No matter what.]
Not really. Just think it'd be pretty cool, y'know?
[Boone is a simple man, with simple desires.]
no subject
[He just wanted the Murkrows for sentimental reasons that he'd never outright admit to.
And while Thursday wasn't exactly the type of Pokemon he would have picked for himself...being his starter the Luxray wasn't going anywhere.]
I..suppose. [This man would get along well with Thor.] Nothing wrong with enjoying the..simple things, I suppose.
