4. Video | Action for Pallet Town | backdated to early June

I have to say it's been interesting to travel to places that you couldn't get to the last time I was here. I'm looking forwardto seeing what else is out here.

I was here for three years before going back for...well I'm not sure but it was a few years here. And in the three years. I never once fought a gym battle. Just wasn't something I was interested in, I suppose.

Well I can cross that one off the list now. Three plus years later, I got the badge from Violet City. I suppose that means my daughter will be trying to get me to learn to fly at some point.

I'm curious though. Pokemon battling is such a huge custom here. Are there any people who are finding other things to do here rather then battle? 

I've been writing a bit but that's what I mostly did when I was here last time. Sadly everything I wrote last time vanished with me and didn't come back, which is probably why it's been taking me longer to get back into it.

Personally, my main hobby is not being eaten by hellbeasts. I'm too busy trying to survive to make them fight each other.

I thought they were monsters when I showed up as well. But even the wild ones are just looking for a fight. It's weird to have an entire world revolve around magical animal fighting but ....here we are.

I enjoy battling my pokemon, but I also just like learning about them. There is so much to learn about or ever discover when new species appear.

And not just about the pokemon either. The world is fascinating too. We are not allowed to travel back home, but here I was able to see an ocean and a volcano. It's really incredible.

There's certainly a lot to learn about them I'd suspect. I'm not a scientist or anything but as an author I have to admit I enjoy reading about the legends and myths they have here.

I was allowed to travel back home but I never really had the opportunity to travel much myself. So seeing all the different places here is pretty amazing. I'm travelling with a friend through Kanto at the moment.

I like reading about the legends too, but even for the regular pokemon, there is so much the pokedex doesn't mention. I guess it makes sense as it is supposed to be more of a quick guide, but there is still so many other things to learn about even the most common kind of pokemon.

[And also just books in general. You are going to have to pry Armin's Jules Vernipede books from his cold dead fingers.]

Me and my friends have just returned to Kanto as well. We've been here before, but there is still plenty we haven't seen yet. And there is the scavenger hunt too.

That's true. It's a shame they don't have a more extended guide to pass around to people. It might help during the initial confusion on arrival here.

Yes, we're going to go look for the music man, I think he's called, today. And since we're travelling we might as well look for the other ones in the towns.

Though apparently the library in Viridian City is quite impressive so my friend has already been warned that she might have to drag me out of it. .....I may have been the one who warned her about that.

Matt's working in the observatory down here in the Islands. I know he's trained his pokemon, but I don't know if he's done serious battling.

Jean had a job too, for a while. And both he and Armin are eating up all the books they run into.

Right, you mentioned the observatory before.

And it's good to hear that books are being appreciated. ....I may be incredibly biased in that regards but I'll admit to it.

I mostly just travelled with Heather and then her and Henry and sometimes a few others we'd pick up along the way. Trained a bit, but mostly writing and working part time when we didn't travel, took up my time.

Thank you. It was certainly interesting to fight in a gym. I might have to try it again at some point.

I'd like that. Maybe sometime in the future. I've been on flying pokemon before so I'm more used to it, just it was usually Heather flying them and I was along for the ride, so this will be fairly new. Luckily I have Lisa, who would be insulted if I even made a joke about her possibly dropping me.

[Slight swat from an owl wing and a semi indigent hoot. Harry chuckles and leans back to pat her.]

[Really, the timing couldn't be better. Both of them had been given flyers about the scavenger hunt, and right as they're about to tour all of Kantos' cities. How could they not participate? Besides, it added an extra bit of fun to the whole trip.]

I don't think I've ever seen him before, I didn't spend any time in Pallet Town the last time I was here. We headed out as soon as we'd docked.

Yeah, considering he's selling things I think he'll be one of the more easier ones to find.

The store seems to be a bit tucked away if the directions I got were right. But not impossible to find if we go looking for it.

As should this. It isn't as though Pallet is a very large place, after all. There's only so many streets.

I tend to see battling more as a way to keep my Pokemon physically fit and many enjoy the competition.

My main pastime though is managing the store and, of course, tending to my plants.
