[For most people, waking up in an entirely different universe would bring up a lot of questions. Where am I? What's going on? How do I get home? But not Peter. Peter only has one question.]
Oh man! I've had to make a lot of hard choices in my life.
Like this one time, there was this girl I liked who wanted to hang out with me, but I had some other obligations. Man, that was a toughie.
But this one is proooobably the hardest one I've ever had to make in my entire life.
Johto or Kanto??
The ferry is right there! It's calling my name. "Peter! Ride me!"
Wait that sounds weird, can we redo that? "Peter! Relive your childhood! Go to Kanto!"
Yeah that's a way less weird. There we go. Anyway, so yeah then you've got Johto, which is new and different and full of cool stuff, I assume.
Ugggggh I'm so indecisive. Internet, help!
[It's like when you realize you're dreaming and go buck wild. He could worry about how to get home or any number of other things he probably should be worrying about, but he's. He's got a Pokemon. Everything else is invalid.]

What's it like? What's the coolest thing you've done there? Does it have gyms too? If it doesn't have gyms, that's kind of a deal breaker.

I haven't been to Kanto yet, I think a lot of people start here since we wake up here. But if you change your mind about Johto, once you get to Goldenrod you can take a train over to Kanto.
Text
Does that work in reverse? Is there a train I can take to Johto in Kanto? That makes my decision a liiiittle easier. Just a little.
It's still difficult.

the crappy part is that if you take the ferry right away it kinda wipes out all your money right away
but you can battle and earn it back on the ride over probably!!

[Not that he's gonna let a little thing like money stop him from literally anything, it's fine.]
I've been hearing a lot of good things about Johto! It sounds like everyone stays here.
Quick, name three of the coolest things you've seen in Johto!

[All that enthusiasm is nice to read, though. Reminds him of some of the kids back in the day.]
That said, remaining in Johto in less expensive and the 'traditional' path, as far as this world is concerned. For a long time, it was even the only path available to us.

Heyyy! This thing is surprisingly high-def, wow. Okay. Anyway! You're the first one to recommend Kanto so far, which is great! Because my mind is already sorta made up. I'm not too worried about money, either. I figure it's easy enough to earn, right? It'll be worth it.

Do you mean you have you been here in this world before as a child?

Uh.
It's a video game! A super popular one that everyone and their mom used to play.

but on the other hand it's in Goldenrod City which if you enter you might never actually manage to leave
fair warning
and I gotta know, what do you mean reliving your childhood have you been here before?
Re: [text]
What's the deal with Goldenrod?
Uh, so about that. I didn't realize for most people here it would be different.
But where I'm from, Pokemon are kiiiind of a video game.
