Boy I just kinda...dropped off the planet for awhile huh?

Without going into too much detail because why should I? Someone I really liked got sent home and it kinda messed me up. So I've just been slumming it in Kanto.

But I'm back in Johto. Goldenrod specifically but I can travel.

As pathetic as it sounds, I'm just trying to be social again. It probably wasn't good for me to just slack off all that time. I know some of my pokemon resented it and want to get back to fighting and performing.

But I think...I just need something constructive...or destructive. I'm up for suggestions.

Or just you know...people to talk to? See I told you it was pathetic sounding.

[Alternatively for you Rockets wandering around in Goldenrod or the surrounding areas, rumors have started to stir about some punk trainer who's been sneaking up on Rockets and spoiling their scams and fights by interfering. Are you a Rocket about to meet this mysterious so called "Hero"? Or are you an innocent trainer about to be rescued? Or more likely you didn't need rescuing but they are showing up anyway!]

I'm sorry your friend got sent home. I went really quiet for a while too but that was because of the alien, monsters that attacked, mostly.

[And sent her back into traumatic flashback land where she kind of just needed to be around people in the city, to convince herself that people were alive. But kept to herself.]

[She brightens up.]

Oh hey it's you! Long time no see.

Yeah those aliens sucked right? I'm glad you're OK though. What have you been up to while you've been quiet.

Thanks....I'm glad you're okay too. They were scary.

I got a part time job again. And I trained my pokemon....oh and I won a pokemon at the game corner!

[She may have had some pokemon with her, pushing her to take a break. Please just stop working, studying, training. Do something fun.]

I used to work there when I first came to this world...but I didn't like the guys who owned it so I moved on.

[And she'll pull out a pokeball and let a Porygon come out. Said porygon looks around then over at the screen]

This is Bishop, its a Porygon and I named them after a friend back home.

Ooo a Porygon? Good choice! Those guys are way useful.

I had one he was super good with computers but I had to ditch him because he kept wanting me to do bad guys stuff that I wasn't into.

Your's looks friendly! And if he's named after your friend I bet he'll be way cool.

Really? Why did he want you to do bad stuff?

[She nods quickly.]

I think so. My friend Bishop back home is also an android, and he didn't side with the company, and he saved my life twice.

I always tell my pokemon if I'm naming them after people. That way they know they were named for really brave people. Even if not all of them ....survived.

[Slight pause, well that got dark but....]

But Bishop did. He got really hurt but you can survive being torn in half if you're an android. So he's going to be okay.

[Ripley promised.]

Well I think the people who had him before convinced him that it was cool to bully others...or something.

[She perks up at the tidbit about her friend and how he stood by her against the company.]

Sounds like my kind of android. There's something to be said for strength in numbers but you know? Big Corporations are lame.

[She beams and offers a thumbs up.]

I think that's great! Giving them something to live up to. A lot of pokemon are really honorable and good so long as you treat them that way too.

And something tells me you're gonna take great care of them.

Oh, that's mean of them.

[She nods.]

This one was evil. I thought they were okay because they built the colony I lived on my entire life, and everyone there worked for them. But it turned out they didn't really care about us at all.

[Or anything.]

Bishop cared about people and keeping us safe, more then the human person from the company did.

[Given as Burke wanted to use her and Ripley as living hosts for the xenomorphs and kill the rest of the surviving crew.]

[Jinx gets a small smile at that last bit.]

Yeah. ....thanks. They're like family so I want to keep them safe and look after them. And they do the same for me.

I suppose you're looking for something more than just training your team against the local wild pokemon? You could try seeing about training at one of the gyms instead, perhaps; even if it's not an official match against the leader, battles against other trainers can be quite engaging...

Hmm...maybe.

I've already got eight badges and I thought going to Kanto and getting more might make me feel more accomplished but I couldn't even bring myself to walk in the door for some reason.

[The reason being she thought they were going to do something awesome and take on Team Rocket but all that's done for.]

You've got a point about other trainers though. It's more challenging.

I wish contests were more common. I really enjoyed the one we had.

Oh? I didn't quite make it to that, as Ryner and I were too busy with the gym at the time...

Perhaps there'd be interest in some sort of informal competition if someone organized it?

[Sounds like a lot of work. She puts on a half smile at least.]

Well maybe...like at a festival or something where they need entertainment. There's gotta be some kind of summer time festival somewhere coming up right? Isn't there always?

I believe there's usually plenty of local festivals at least, yes.

Or maybe instead of a one-time event, some sort of ongoing regular matches could work, I suppose...

*like a sports league! except he has no idea what that is so he can't make that comparison, but*

So in a sense, just like pokemon battles except it's more about flash and less about damage.

The hard part is finding an audience or some impartial judges for each match.

[The gears in her head are spinning away but she's clearly holding back.]

I'm no stranger to hard work. I guess I just have to decide if I want this bad enough to actually spearhead the organizing thing or not.

I can start at least by throwing out a line on the network and seeing if anyone else wants more contests like I do.

Something like that. I imagine getting an audience is simply a matter of sufficient advertising, though. People here do seem quite interested in anything to do with pokemon, after all...

And that certainly seems like it would be a good place to start.
