[Yuuko's finally made it out of Union Cave, and while she's happy about that, that isn't the reason she's making this video. She waves to the screen before speaking.]

Hi, Yuuko here. So I guess this wouldn't be much of a big deal to those who have been here longer than I have, but one of my Pokemon evolved while I've been traveling! And she seems really excited to show it off, so I just thought I'd make this video.

[Yuuko turns the camera to the right, revealing a Steenee that's standing a short distance behind her.] This is Ina! She was a Bounsweet when I caught her, but now she's a Steenee. [Ina waves to the camera as well, but with a lot more enthusiastic bouncing up and down. She has actual arms now! And longer legs! And no longer has to worry about bird Pokemon trying to eat her! The world is now so full of possibilities!

Yuuko just smiles. Her ~~children~~ Pokemon are growing up so fast...hey, she has actual kids at home, so she really can't help but be reminded of her own daughters.]

So, I guess that's really all I wanted to-- [Yuuko is then interrupted by Ina squeaking excitedly and bouncing around even more, the pigtail-like sepals on her head swinging around wildly as she gets even closer to the screen.]

W-wait--Ina, slow down...! [And it looks like Ina got so excited about evolving that she's knocked the 'gear out of Yuuko's hands and cut off the feed. Whoops.]

Ah...no, everything's okay. She was just a little too excited, that's all. [It's a good thing Yuuko's 'gear wasn't broken.]

She's not attempting a daring escape?

I don't think she was. She seems to like me well enough...I mean, when we first met, I had to chase off a Pidgey that wanted to eat her.

... Trying to... eat her?

These creatures eat one another?

The Pokedex says that bird Pokemon really like to eat Bounsweet, so...yeah, it looks like that does happen. I guess it's not that surprising when you think about it, since regular animals do eat each other. [Such is the cruelty of nature.]

That's... horrendous!

I suppose next, it will suggest humans eat them as well!

[... Shadowmaru stop talking.]

[...oh. Yuuko is now realizing that she never actually considered that. She hasn't thought too hard about what's in the food she's been eating. Do people actually use Pokemon for meat in this world?!]

I...I'm not entirely sure about that, sorry. But, well, meat does have to come from somewhere...

[Oh ... god. Oh that's -- not what he ever wanted to hear.]

I... suddenly believe I prefer the vegetarian lifestyle.

I think I may prefer that myself for the moment... [At least until she can find out where exactly the meat comes from here. Pokemon are a lot smarter than regular animals, so it feels really weird to think that people might eat them.]

I foresee a ... lot of tofu purchased in our futures.

I don't mind tofu, but I think I'll have to get used to eating more of it than usual...

And here I was! Looking forward to actually enjoying food!

Well, there are still foods that you can eat that don't have meat or tofu in them...I know a few vegetarian recipes, at least. [And she may have seen some non-Pokemon eggs being sold, even if she's not entirely sure where they came from.]

Hmm...there's always omurice! It's basically just fried rice wrapped in an omelet. Most people fry meat in with the rice, but you can always just use veggies. And I'm pretty sure you can still get regular eggs here for the omelet, too.

Forgive me, miss. All of this is... wildly unfamiliar to me. I have heard of omurice, of course, but. It's creation is not something in my database.

...oh! I see. [Yuuko isn't really sure what he means, but she guesses he's saying that he doesn't actually know how to cook the food in question.]

Maybe I could copy out the recipe for you, then? I still remember it pretty well, since I've made it often.

[He makes a face, and holds a hand to his chest, dramatically.]

I fear I must be blunt. I... have no knowledge of the culinary arts whatsoever.

Well, that's okay. It's never too late to learn.

[And then, because this is really the most logical step to take:] I could teach you how to make omurice, if you want.

[Those green eyes almost glow, they look so delighted.]

I would be honored!

Great! We'd have to figure out how to meet up, though...I'm still on my way to Azalea town right now.

Fear not! My current home is Olivine City. I have no intentions of moving on, as of yet.

Olivine, huh? Hmm... [Yuuko takes a moment to look it up on the map.]

That's a ways away from Azalea, but I'm on my way to Mahogany Town so I can still stop there since it's on the way. [Maybe she should start saving up for a bike so she can get there faster...]

Never fear. I have no intention of moving on.

I'm quite comfortable here.
