Video 002
[The video clicks on and Shoto looks extremely unimpressed. Anyone familiar with the Kanto Region may recognize that he's in Viridian Forest and well..]
Has anyone else ever encountered a Pikachu that can't control it's own abilities?
[Behind him a Poochyena can be seen looking just as unimpressed as his trainer as it stares down at a Pikachu lying face down on the ground--
out cold.]
It keeps over charging itself then passing out. I'm assuming this isn't normal.
[A pause.]
I'm hoping it's not actually.

Buntz would accidentally electrocute people as a Pichu, but he seems to have better control of his abilities now. Is it yours?
video
[Yet.]
It seems like it wants me to. It's been rather enthusiastic about showing off it's abilities which leads to this.
[The Poochyena behind him reaches out with a paw to prod the Pikachu's head, getting a faint "Chuuuu" out of the rat. Yep. Still alive.]

[Because that poor Pikachu is going to hurt itself trying to impress Shoto at this rate.]

[He sighs and pulls a Pokeball off his belt.]
Others have suggested it so I might as well.

Maybe not a Pikachu, but I have encountered Pokemon with other... oddities, I guess. Way back in the day, there was this Charmander that had a weak flame and was pretty scrawny. Friend of mine had a Pikachu that was extra small.
Definitely not what I'd call normal, but if you're worried, maybe take it up with a Nurse Joy? It might just take some extra TLC and patience.

I still haven't officially caught him but...I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask someone at the next Pokemon Center I visit about it. He's pretty adamant about coming with us.

[He rubs his chin. Very interesting for sure...]
Another option I'd consider is maybe buddying up with another trainer that's got electric types. If there is an issue with power, then working with like types might help the little guy build some endurance.

[Hello again IcyHot boy]
Is. Is he or she...okay?
[Video]
[Hello again.]
I think so.
[His Poochyena lets out a chuff bark and Shoto glances back.]
Apparently he is.
[Video]
[HE DOESN'T LOOK OKAY.......]
Anyway, you may, um...want to take him to a Pokemon Center and, uh, make sure he gets a checkup? And...take it slow with the electric attacks. Maybe he's just evolved and is still getting used to them?
[She has no idea, this is all just spitballing into the void.]

He came out of nowhere and tried to challenge us...and ended up like this.

Which by all appearances they're certainly in need of some kind of help.

[Does the forest have charging stations, it seems worryingly possible.]
Video
[It's just that stupid.]
Re: Video
[Squirting it with a water bottle probably isn't advisable either.]
Really every single time? Cause otherwise I'd say, what do they call it, positive reinforcement? Like giving it treats or praise or whatever when it doesn't.
Video
Video
Cause no, that's not normal. Pokemon are like people, some of'em are lemons. Look at my friggin fat, useless Houndoom.
Video
Other people have suggested he just needs specific training.
Video
Or maybe it's just a messed up one. They aren't all great!
[Says a man who is quick to just not bother with any of his own that don't immediately take to battling.]

Video;
[The one electric type Armin has was always very well behaved. Which is weird cause it is a Voltorb.]
But when my Incineroar was still a Litten, he wasn't always able to control his fire very well. He didn't pass out, exactly, but he did once nearly set a pillow on fire when he sneezed.
You might want to have the nurses at the pokemon centre check it out, just to be certain it isn't ill in any way, but chances are it's just... a bit of a slow learner, I guess you'd say.
[That is polite speak for dumb as bricks.]
Video;
Someone else mentioned that he may have just evolved and isn't use to his new abilities yet which seems applicable honestly. [Pair that with the Pikachu just being kind of dumb and..well..] I'll catch him and take him to a Pokemon Center when I get to Pewter City.
[Leaving him out here just seems cruel.]
Did your Litten learn to control it's abilities?
Video;
[Armin looks ponderous for a moment.]
Do you have any other electric types? Maybe that is what this Pikachu needs too. Someone to practice with so it can learn to control its abilities. A more skilled electric type could help with that.

[This is a Mimikyu, looming up into the screen and examining the scene on the other end. And now this is a Mimikyu laughing so hard the ears on her costume shake. This is the best thing she's seen all day!]
video;
Behind him, his Poochyena looks over and gives the Ghost Pokemon a dry look that very clearly says You aren't helping.]
I'm glad you find this funny.
video;
Spooky?
[The Mimikyu turns her head and chirps cheerfully--hey, come look at this! it's the best!--and then Jean comes onto the screen.]
How'd you get that? Who're you...
[Oh, hello. She's talking to someone.]
Hi. She wasn't bothering you, was she?
