Wow.

I've lived on the islands so long that I can't remember the last time I bought non-island clothes. I...need to fix that before I go to Goldenrod in late fall! Big weather difference. Hey, maybe I'll even get a Halloween costume this year.

Speaking of...I'm gonna be in Goldenrod for a couple of weeks at the end of the month. I never really spent a bunch of time there, what's fun to do this time of year? Any cool water Pokemon around there? Not that there's any water Pokemon that isn't cool...

Well, it isn't in Goldenrod City itself, but there are Buizel down on Route 34. I checked my notes and I saw some the last time I was passing through there.

Isn't Halloween a festival?

sort of? it's not like festivals where i come from.
the whole month is kind of a long low key celebration leading up to the actual night.
spooky tv shows and movies, halloween decorations, themed drinks at starmiebucks...

and then on halloween night people dress up in costumes and eat a bunch of candy and go to parties and stuff.

That's not like any of the festivals I know, either. Is it usual for everyone to participate in the whole... lead up and celebration night at the end of the month?

a lot of people get really into it. all the stores sure get in on it!

They'd have a financial motivation to engage if it means increased sales from eager buyers. Still, sounds like it's something most expect people to want to enjoy.

You'll find all sorts of crabs around there, if you visit the beach. Plus those strange little critters that spit out their guts once in a while. I'm... mostly sure those are Water-types.

They spit their guts out. Or maybe they throw them up? Whichever it is, they hang out on the sand near the water and they don't look like Ground-types.

Does it get very cold on the islands during this time of year?

Actually it pretty much never gets cold on the islands! They're tropical. It's warm year round. Sometimes it's super warm, sometimes hot, sometimes it's wet warm, but generally always warm.

That sounds lovely! And... a little strange. I feel like I would miss the cold eventually, as silly as that sounds. Sometimes it's fun to bundle up and dress cozy!

It's really beautiful. Especially if you like the ocean, the beaches here aren't like the ones on the mainland.

No, I know what you mean! I grew up in the South Pole.

You should definitely get a warm jacket before you get here though. It's starting to get chilly. This'll be my first Halloween here. I'll have to look for costumes too.

Yeah, it's been a while since I've been on the mainland in fall or winter, but I remember Ecruteak used to get pretty cold.


I think they sell costumes like...everywhere.

Mostly I'm just looking at what sort of stores they have here. I was thinking of maybe trying to apply at a video game store or something like that. Or maybe an arts and craft store. There's a lot of cool looking places here actually.

That makes sense. Maybe I'll dress up as a ghost pokemon. My team would love that.
