Another year, huh. That makes eight.

[Ryner is recording this video from the roof of his and Sion's house today - that's where Rose wants to eat her birthday dango, so that's what she gets. And said Clefairy is seated next to her dear partner, cheerfully chomping on some dango.

This gym leader, for his part, has a mug of tea.]

And hey, October wasn't even bad this year, somehow. ...In comparison, anyway. I mean, yeah, there was a mess to clean up, but you know, when compared to all the stuff that's happened before, I am not gonna complain.

["Fai~ry." Rose concurs.]

Ahh, if nothing else, it means you get to enjoy your dango in peace for once. So that's nice.

[He reaches out and moves the camera so everyone watching gets a nice view of the pond, where a bunch of fancy Magikarp are jumping over a sleeping Gyarados.]

...Maybe a little too nice, really. Kind of makes you wonder, if the usual nuisance didn't happen now, how bad is it gonna be when it does...

But, nothing to do about that until the other shoe drops, I guess.

Yep. It's rare, but it can. Pretty sure there are even still some people around who've been here longer than that.

[She huffs, but that's the extent of her complaining. No sense in getting upset about something she can't do anything to change when it isn't actually that bad a deal.]

I guess I can deal with that if it happens. It's not like it's the first time something like it's happened to me, even if I don't actually remember the first time.

If it makes you feel any better, it probably won't. Honestly, most people disappear before they've been here a year or so.

October tends to be the big one. If you don't count that thing that happens in November and May, anyway.

That's what's going to happen, isn't it. October was fine, so November is going to be a bigger pain than usual.

Exactly. A ton of random people show up for a few days for no reason, and nobody can quite remember everything perfectly, and I usually get buried in random crap, and it's all so super bothersome.

Pretty literally. Usually in a pile of fluffy or slimy creatures that aren't quite Pokemon.

Ghosts, more ghosts, getting kidnapped to some kind of nightmare castle, a bunch of red and blue assholes attacking each other with legendary Pokemon and making a mess, different species getting mixed together, some assholes in skull outfits running around making a mess, and last year people got stuck in some sort of forest made of nightmares.

I just missed one when I first got here, too, but all I know about that one is that the background music did something weird.

[Maybe to most people, that would sound like a list of bizarre things. But to Link, with the kinds of experiences he's had, and what he's been learning about this land... Those all sound entirely plausible to him. So he just nods along as more events are named, his expression still somber and thoughtful.

... up until that last one, anyway. His eyes widen slightly and he leans closer to his Pokégear (and consequently the camera).] The music? Do you know what it did? Or someone who knows more?

Ahh, I was kind of too preoccupied at the time to ask, so I don't know. But there are a couple people who've been here longer than me who I can think of. They might remember.

Cecil and Heather are the ones I'm sure have been here longer. Can't say I talk to Heather all that much, but Cecil's a decent guy.
