Oh okay, holy cow, why do I keep missing all the cool spooky stuff that keeps happening around this place?

I mean, the kids and I went trick or treating this year, but we missed out on all the shenanigans that happened. We didn't get tricked, although we saw the swarms and stuff, but none of my Pokemon brought back anything or went nuts or anything like that.

Aw... I feel left out.

So, what kind of cursed loot did everyone get?

My pokemon were pretty quiet for the most part. Aside from a few being normally excited for Halloween.

My newest pokemon though, brought back a thunder stone. I don't think it's cursed.

Yeah, my kids were pretty upbeat all night. They hit up every single house along the way and got a lot of candy.

Oh? Well, at least that's good. There's a lot of spooky stuff out there and I'm sorry I missed it. I'm really big into the spooky stuff, and I dressed up this year too with my kids. We all went as Precure.

I tend to prefer spooky things when they're fictional at this point but at least here it's not usually as dangerous as it could be.

A theme is always fun. We had various costumes ourselves. I was Edgar Allan Poe. Though I'm not sure how many people knew who that was.

[He shrugs. It was fun.]

Though I have to ask, what is Precure?

Yeah, I guess so. Growing up I really was into the whole horror scene, so to me, this is a lot tamer than the things I watched as a kid.

Nice, that's a good choice for Halloween. Good job.

Precure are transforming superheroes. Magical girls. We went as the Yes Precure 5. I was Milky Rose.

[He nods.]

I can understand that. I used to write true crime, and still occasionally write horror fiction. ....and my world was rather dangerous in parts. This place has its moments. But it's usually a lot tamer.

[Then again, silent hill is kinda hard to beat in sheer horror.]

Thank you. It was a lot of fun. Your costumes sound fun as well. Are those fictional characters in your world? Or do they exist in real life?

[He's been here long enough to not just assume things like it would be the first one.]

I write, well, I did write magical girl manga for a while, and my world has giant stompy robots fighting giant monsters all the time, so I can relate on some levels.

[She shook her head.]

They're actual superheroines. They're friends of mine actually.

Really? It's nice to meet another writer here. Are you still writing?

[He's better at talking about writing, so that's always good.]

That's interesting. And if you're from a place that has giant monsters. Having superheroines around sounds like it would help a lot.

I restarted after a 10 year series. It's kind of nice to get published again.

[She's happy to find a fellow published author after all.]

Yeah it's pretty fun to be honest. Especially when the End of the World happens and the heroes come out on top.

I've been getting back into writing myself. I took a break after showing up here again so I could get more used to the changes. But it's nice to sit down and write stories again.

The world not ending is always good. I've been through that once myself, though it was probably more luck in my case. Also less fun and more horror, with the only good thing being the world not ending at the end of it.

[Silent Hill endings, even the good ones are just....kinda good in comparison.]

Yeah, I get that. Sometimes I wonder why I ended my series, but then again, starting fresh feels... right to be honest.

Yeah, I mean... I could tell you how I stopped the world ending during my turn. It involved a lot of crying though.

[Smile Precure's ending involved a lot of crying girls.]

Sometimes it's good to have a fresh start at things.

I'm sorry to hear that but ...yeah mine involved crying as well. It's a shame that saving the world isn't like you see in some works of fiction. That it fixes everything, reverses everything that went wrong instead of just...stopping something. Or delaying it.

In my case, it kinda did. I mean, Precure bosses are load bearing is the term for it, so all the damage done to the world is reset. Kinda hard to recover when the villain turns into a black hole and gouges out a huge chunk of the planet in his attempt to destroy everything in sight. Right?

Yeah that would be hard. Mine, luckily never got far enough to touch the ...real world I suppose you could call it. Just the weird subpockets of reality that were already warped and filled with monsters in the town.

It was a very....localized near end of the world.

Yeah, lately Precure fights can range between Dark Zones and stuff like that, to fights right out in the open. It really depends on how powerful the magic reset button is for that team is.

I'll bet. it must have been massive spoopy.

Mine was mostly world of fog and world of rusty metal everywhere. I'm not sure how it completely works. Aside from a few theories.

Do the villains in your world get arrested? In mine they have a bit of a cult but no authority would believe, I got trapped in another world, that's why these people vanished, please investigate that town.

Wow, that's quite the thing.

Naw, the villains in my world range between completely irredeemable and go out like a literal explosion, to redeemed and purified from the evil that consumed them. It's a toss up. I mean, those who actually get purified go to the good side and rebuild the worlds they sacked.

Although there's a good handful of them that become Precure too.

Yeah, I still freeze when I hear sirens in fog.

The one that I saw got the first one of those. The ....thing they summoned wasn't happy and killed them and then I had to fight that. Unfortunately, like I said, it was a cult. So they just got replaced later on.

It would have been nice if some of them could be redeemed but they tend to be beyond that point. Or at least the ones I've heard about.

Villains in my world range anyhow, between actual humans from other world to abominations from across the stars so it varies. The ones I fought were fairies who had been infused with dark energies and a literal evil clown and his master, who black holed himself.

That is...quite varied. I'm guessing they don't show up in the same place, either?

Also I'm morbidly curious about the evil clown. They through themselves into a black hole?

No, they don't. Depending on the city, location, time, place, and year, we have varied enemies.

The evil clown Joker melted and joined with his master Pierrot. And Pierrot who was a massive evil space clown to begin with, transformed into a black hole and tried to destroy the planet.

We just shot it with a space beam which turned into a giant woman which hugged it with a smile. To death.

Ours seem more localized. ....at least I hope it's the only town like it.

It's not the first time the Precure killed a black hole. It probably won't be the last.

[He nods.]

Actually what happens when a black hole dies. Or is that one of the things that normally gets reset?

It got reset, and the world was restored to normal. And then we cried, saw Candy and Pop our fairy friends back to Marchenland on their way and cried a lot more.

It was almost a year until we saw them again.
