Ninth Curse - Video
[The video starts with Jinx on horseback. She's in a very different outfit then usual, sporting a wide brimmed black hat, purple and black poncho and from the ambient noise she's clearly on horseback.]
So let's talk about obsessions shall we?
A few months back Diana and I decided we wanted to get a place to stay regularly instead of traveling from town to town all the time. And as a house warming gift I got us a game system and a few games.
One of those games was FireRed Redemption. I never played the original but like...whatever it was really popular right?
Biiiiig mistake.
We've been playing this game since like...November. It totally sucks you in and it's like...you just lose entire days. I spent four hours hunting for dragon bones so this Professor would give me a special item!
Anyway I decided the only way to break the hold the game had on me was to level up my horse pokemon. Crackle is well on her way to becoming a Zebstrika, Rocky Road just became a beautiful Mudsdale this morning...
[She turns the camera over to her side where a Massive Mudsdale and a spunky looking Zebstrika, and Maractus riding on the Mudsdale who waves.]
And of course Sugar, my first pony pokemon...
[She tosses the camera to the Maractus who fumbles it as Jinx urges her Rapidash ahead at a trot where she canters, poses and lets out a cry before going up on her hind legs, stomping down and sending sparks from it's mane. Jinx manages to hang on but it takes some effort.]
SO! Now I throw the question to you guys. What do you obsess over? Is it good? Bad? A hobby? Your career? Something utterly taboo? I'll answer as soon as we're done training for today. Right now I think they all wanna cut loose!
[Sure enough Sugar lets out another cry and takes off running building up speed so fast the others have a hard time catching up. Somehow the Maractus fumbles the video to turn off.]

Anime and Manga too.

Are we talking like comic books or video games?

Except like...superheroes were a real thing in my world so it's like, you're watching a show and sometimes you're seeing where they obviously ripped off from existing heroes. Then you start to wonder if any of it is based on truth or rumors and it's kind of complicated.
Do you like the older ones because the special effects were cheaper?

I tend to get really invested when I find a mystery.
[Like what is sleep, invested.]
Re: video
Of course given I was born with cursed magic and raised by a fortune teller that was kind of inevitable that creepy weird things would be in my wheelhouse.
Solve any good mysteries lately?
video
[He is a nerd.]
Not really. My sister and I've been been exploring mostly. I have some plans for when it gets warmer and stuff but nothing solid.
Re: video
I obviously can't do it here but back home I had the power to cause bad luck. And sometimes yeah that would snap back at me and I'd have to fight against it but I got pretty good at controlling it.
[It's charming in it's own way. And he's not as amped up as Mable so she can handle him better.]
There's plenty to explore that's for sure. And the fact that this world doesn't seem to mind letting kids wander around unattended probably makes it way more fun the younger you are.
[She would have loved this kind of freedom growing up.]
video
[He's a semi awkward, excited kid but it's hard to beat Mabel for the most amped up.]
Yeah it's great. Back home we were on our summer break in a town where weird stuff happened like all the time. So we could mostly explore the stuff and do what we wanted but here, I mean they give you a monster and tell you to go find more. It's pretty amazing.
I have a list of weird stuff I want to figure out. I think the hardest part is figuring out which ones to focus ones. Like the most interesting, or the one that you might be able to find more information on?

I've always been utterly obsessed with outer space, exploring and travelling and discovering.
Also, proving life off of Earth, but, uh, that didn't turn out so well for me.
no subject
[And while Jinx can imagine it, she's never been off her own world till now.]
What were the aliens like?
no subject
As for the aliens... rude.
And now that I think about it, a bit sterotypical. They abducted my father, my boyfriend and I, and did some kind of experimentation on my boyfriend.
no subject
In my world we have a reasonable space program for non-super powered people but most space exploration comes from super powered people and aliens coming to visit Earth. Some of them even stay and become heroes...or villains.
[She's trying to imagine Starfire being a sterotypical evil alien experimenting on others and has to suppress a laugh.]
Video
You girls wanted a place to stay, why didn't you just hit me up? Feeling pretty slighted over here, kiddo...
[Because everything is about Jack, in Jack's mind, and this is what he latches on to.]
no subject
Don't be cross Jack. Absence makes the heart grow fonder right?
How many of us teens do you really want just underfoot in your hideaways?
[Jinx you're like 20 by now.]
no subject
Oh yeah, 'cause I just love living all by myself with my stupid dogs.
no subject
Wasn't Angel living with you? She's still around isn't she? Did something happen?

[Diana is sat on the back of her pony, Jack, as she makes this call. Who is a Zebstrika now, tyvm.]
Video
[Jack is being sulky and over-dramatic.]
Video
[Figured that was a given.]
S'not my fault you been moping around the house and didn't notice.

Action
"Oh shit! Persian!" Shouts a voice.
It's not a Persian. It's a Luxray.
And it's nipping at poor Sugar's heels as she runs and growling.
And Diana is sat upon Jack the Zebstrika nearby, laughing away.
Re: Action
[Jinx reacts instinctively trying to urge her Rapidash to pelt away but Sugar is already startled and bucks her hard sending the skinny girl cartwheeling through the air. Sugar is tearing for the horizon while Jinx makes an ungraceful landing in a berry bush.]
Wait...Caine? Damn you!
[She's trying not to laugh but yeah she's embarrassed enough to laugh at herself.]
Action
Diana is still laughing heartily. "Uh oh. You better watch out. Cover your neck!"

Jinx is pretty fast when she's on her feet but she's scrambling to get traction on the wet grass. Thankfully her Maractus who has decided to be "Helpful" throws a cloud of cotton spores at Caine to slow him down while the Mudbray it's riding on chomps on some grass idly.
