SWAPPING IS... BAD
Who: Shiro & His Body Swap Adventurers
What: Freaky Fri-Week!!
Where: Sevii and Mahogany
When: January 21st - 27th
Warnings: None Right Now
1) SWAP THE FIRST | ota in the Sevii Island House

[THIS IS NOT HIS ROOM. This is not his bed. This is a pillow and not his beautiful boyfriend he's octopus'd around. And why does the entire room smell like... body spray? Not a good body spray, either. Please hold. He's going to sit up. Slowly realize he is, in fact, in Lance's room... For some reason.]
[The household is silent this morning, for a good few more moments as it dawns on him. As he inhales slowly, and, at the top of lungs probably more suited for yelping than bellowing, calls out:]
LAAAAAAAANCE!
2) SWAP THE SECOND | for Yuuko
[He probably should expect something weird to happen. He probably should expect he's going to wake up somewhere else. Because that's already happened once this week.]
[What he did not expect is to wake up with a familiar Swanna honking angrily at him. Or expect the yelp of surprise to sound... familiar as well.]
[Brace yourself, Yuuko. You're getting a phone call.]

1 - Wrong Holt, Please Hold.
... and he's not in bed. He's leaning against the bed with a laptop in his lap. Blinking sleep out of his eyes, he stretches, putting the laptop down, and standing up. Wait. Everyting seems... further up. Also, this is the basement. Also... those are boobs. Small, but they're boobs.
Everything seems to settle in place, and he lets out a small shriek.]
Katie get back here right now with my body! I'm too short like this!
no subject
PIDGE?
[Oh god his voice. Why is it hitting that octave. Why is this happening. Pidge is, of all things, yelling at herself? About her body? But does that mean she's in a similar situation?]
[One way to find out.]
[And that's charging toward the basement on legs that are way longer than they have any right to be. Please excuse him, Lance, if he knocks your shoulder once or twice into a wall on the way.]
no subject
Skidding to a stop just at the top of the stairs, he blinks a few times at Lance.]
Lance? Have you seen my body? Er, wait. No. Not my body. Well, yes, my body, but my sister's in it at the moment. Or at least I hope it's Pidge and not someone else because that would just be the worst. Absolutely the worst.
[Nailed it.]
no subject
... Not your... your sister--?
[He's. Processing this. It takes longer than it should, because on top of processing who exactly he's talking to, he's trying to connect the dots of where bodies could be, or who is where and--]
Matt. Matt -- it's me. It's Shiro. It's -- They've got to be in our room.
[Which means...]
no subject
[In this moment, it becomes almost painfully obvious how very much the Holt siblings are alike. Even though it's Matt in Pidge's body, anyone walking by wouldn't see any difference. His mannerisms, facial expressions and tone are exactly like his sister's. At least for now they are.]
no subject
Yes. [Again with the higher pitch. Shiro's definitely not used to this. To having to control his vocal range. He's going to have to learn.]
[Later. Because now he's grasping Pidge/Matt's shoulders. Honestly, Matt looks like he's gotten off easier here, at least, aside from height, he looks... similar. Enough to where his hands drop away. He takes a step back. That's an expression he didn't really want to see again.]
Yes. That is exactly what I'm saying. [There's a beat.] Were we wearing anything, last night?
no subject
[Now PidgeMatt is utterly bright red and looks a bit horrified.]
Also, I'm pretty sure you left marks. Lots of them.
no subject
[They're going to die. They're going to be murdered. Pidge is going to rise out of their room and murder them.]
[Rest in pieces, both of them.]
We... need to check on... us.
[Oh space lion jesus he is so sorry.]
no subject
[PidgeMatt makes another face.]
But, uh, yeah. We should go check on us.
no subject
Matt, I love her like my own sister, but I really don't think that's going to matter to Pidge. She'll never let it go. Ever.
[He knows her, okay. One hand goes to grasp Matt's shoulder again, and... he needs a minute. Because in all the bizarre happenings, it failed to register he's been feeling things with it. With his right hand.]
[Just a second.]
... yeah. Yeah, we should. Come on.
no subject
Yeah. Let's go. It's disconcerting to be this short.
no subject
[Pidge is sitting up in a bed that is decidedly not hers, staring down at hands that she's quite certain are also not hers, next to a large hunk of a man that is neither actually a Hunk or a Lance, with an ache in her right knee that she's almost positive shouldn't exist at all. She's shirtless, apparently, and a glance in Shiro's direction tells her that he's in a similar state of dress, and Pidge definitely, definitely does not want to think about what that very obviously means right now.
So when the door to the bedroom opens, Pidge turns her - Matt's - gaze in that direction. And as she sees, well, herself and Lance standing in the doorway, her expression quickly settles into something of a glower. It's mostly directed at Matt - uh, herself? - because why does her knee hurt.]
What is this. [She hisses the words out, still unsure of whether or not she should be waking whoever's in Shiro's body, but the flustered confusion is all there in her tone. It's weird to hear it in Matt's voice, but apparently that's a thing to get used to.]
no subject
[He realizes what Matt's up to as soon as their fingers link. And for a second, his heart freezes in his chest. He bites his lip, nods. Thank you, silently, sincerely.]
[They're too late.]
[They are way too late and Shiro has never before felt fear when looking at his boyfriend's face. Not fear like this. He opens his mouth. Closes it. And does it again. Before whispering, in a voice that still sounds way too loud -- thank you Lance.]
We don't know. [His eyes drop to his own self. Good lord, is that really how much bed he takes up? They need more room. So much more room.] We woke up like this!
no subject
It's... a body swap? You're me, and I'm you. Or, well, uh. we switched bodies. So, uh... can you put on my boxers? Please?
[Pidgematt looks more than a bit embarrassed.]
... Guess Shiro's body's really tired.
no subject
[Pidge slaps her hands over her eyes, cheeks darkening in embarrassment. She really didn't need that confirmation.]
I can't believe you. How did th--
[Wait a minute. Did Lance say "we"?
She blinks, turns to look down at Shiro for a second, then looks toward Lance again.]
Shi...ro?
no subject
[There's an embarrassed sort of "jazz hands" motion here. With Lance's face falling into a resigned expression really only one person under this roof is capable of.]
[So yes. It's him. It's the Dorito.]
Yeah. It's me.
no subject
[That might be the Dorito in a Noodle body, but the person who rolls over in the bed definitely isn't with how he grumbles and whines in his sleep, moving only to wrap an arm around the very solid and alive "pillow" next to him. A rather chilly metal arm, that is.
For the moment, it doesn't register. The rest of the body, it is tired. The mind inside it is too and just wants the people in his dream to shut up so he can continue getting his beauty sleep. Skin this smooth and soft doesn't come cheap, friends.]
no subject
[Matt just facepalms, and leans against the doorframe, almost falling over from a much different center of gravity.]
So what now? No offence, Pidge but... I'd rather not be you for the forseeable future.

[Yuuko's seen videos on the network about people apparently switching bodies, but she never thought she'd go through with it herself. It seemed like one minute she had gone to bed after making sure Twizzle wasn't secretly watching videos on her 'gear again, and the next minute she woke up in a strange bed, in a strange house, in a strange body. One that's taller, but still.
After dealing with a lot of cats and very different housemates, she isn't too surprised that she'd be getting a call. Hopefully it can help her figure out how to deal with this.]
...Shiro? Is that you? [Man, it feels really weird to say that when she's in Shiro's body.]
no subject
[Look, the cats are a little concerned. First there was their trainer swapping with Lance, and now it seems like it's happening again. Luna the Meowth, especially, will not leave Yuuko alone. Chattering and climbing all over.]
[For his part, Shiro is looking strained. And possibly sitting on a counter. To avoid the Swanna. It's funny -- he actually fits up here without being cramped.]
It's me! [Maybe a little louder than necessary.] How do I turn off the swan!
no subject
[Yuuko tries to keep Luna from climbing onto her head as she tries to figure out what's going on.]
Oh, Biellmann...he's probably just throwing a tantrum because he hasn't been fed yet. His food should be in the cupboard closest to the fridge, on the third shelf. I'm sure he'll calm down once he's eaten.
[She can already hear Biellmann honking angrily in the background. Where is his breakfast? How can his breeder have not given it to him on time??? Such insolence!!!]
no subject
[Nope, you can't stop her. She's getting on your head, Yuuko. Kneading your hair.]
I have to get off the counter to get there -- he's not going to bite, is he?
[Swans are terrifying, Yuuko. Maybe if he inches along the countertop...? Can he reach? His arms don't seem nearly long enough, but he'll try.]
no subject
[How does Shiro put up with this many cats...]
He used to bite sometimes when he was a Ducklett, but he doesn't anymore. Don't worry, he's only going to make a lot of noise until he gets fed.
[Well, that and Yuuko had given him a Mom Lecture about why he shouldn't bite.]
There should be a stool next to the fridge that you can use. [Since, well, Shiro would be shorter than usual.]
no subject
[This is fine. He can do this. All he has to do is make with the food and the angry noises are going to stop.]
That's -- good to know.
[For a second, he wants to ask why he'd need a stool, and then ... remembers... Ah. Right.]
Thanks. [And to the Swanna --] Calm down! I'm working on it!
no subject
Oh, and make sure you leave his bowl on the counter. He doesn't like to eat off the floor.
[Biellmann lets out another loud honk and puffs out his feathers irritably. Clearly he can sense that something's up, even if his biggest tip-off was that he didn't get his food at the usual time.]
no subject
Doesn't...
Yuuko, I hate to tell you. But your Swanna thinks he's people.
[Regardless, he's going to start getting the food and such out. Carefully. Because part of him is still concerned he's going to get bitten.]
I'm sorry, by the way. That you got sucked into this.
no subject
It's okay...it's not like any of us really saw this coming. I guess now it's my turn to get caught up in this place's weirdness.
[Biellmann waddles up to Shiro and stares fixedly at him as he prepares the food. With his long neck, he's tall enough to see over the counter. At least he isn't making any more noise.]
no subject
For what it's worth -- at least you'll be around familiar faces. For the most part.
[Unless they've all swapped again. Which would be great. He glances down, to keep focusing on the food prep.]
... weird question. I don't need to heat this up, do I?
no subject
No, you don't have to, it's fine. [Thank goodness Biellmann isn't that picky.]
That's true, though...at least I ended up somewhere I've already been. Do you know how long this usually lasts?
no subject
Oh -- oh thank everything.
[They'd all be screwed if Biellmann needed his food warmed up.]
I don't know. I was in Lance's body for a while before this... so maybe a few more days for you.
» for a basement gremlin
[Before all the screaming and yelling that'll inevitably happen today, Lance is deep in sleep mode. Something in his subsconcious is poking him to roll over from left to right and he does so, only to be stopped by something solid and warm.
Not too unexpected since more and more recently, he's been dipping down into Pidge's room in the middle of the night both to bug her and get some cuddling in, so waking up next to someone else isn't new to him. It sure beats snuggling his pillow and with Pidge's short stature, it means he can practically wrap his long bony limbs around her and keep her in place.
Except nothing about him is bony at his moment and one of those limbs is made of pure space metal, yet that doesn't stop a Lance in a Shiro's body from becoming the cuddle starved octopus they all know and love that tangles himself into Pidge without even waking up a little bit.]
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~~~~
[When Pidge first starts to rouse from her sleep, she vaguely realizes that she's... comfortable. Extremely comfortable. She's enveloped in a soothing warmth - that for once, it seems, does not make her sweat - and she resettles into it without a second thought. Her brain is still too bogged down with sleep to even realize that anything might be unusual here. It's certainly true that recently it hasn't been uncommon to wake up with Lance's limbs curled around her after all, and there have been nights when she went looking to curl up against Hunk so even the greater weight around her doesn't ping any alerts.
So as limbs curl around her, she has no initial objection. She instinctively presses into it with a soft sigh, then stills again while her systems slowly begin to boot up.
And then she becomes aware of the cold of metal pressed against her bare skin.
And her eyes shoot wide open.]
