Who: The Garribros (Lance, Hunk, and Pidge)
Where: The Power Plant
When: Forward-dated to Valentine's Day
Summary: Three hormone-driven teens realize they all have mutual feelings for each other and try to make it work.
Rating: PG-13
[Lance thinks he's an utter genius for coming up with this plan. Sure, engineering and science and fiddling with bits and bobs that can shock you aren't places he tends to go, but for Hunk and Pidge, he's willing to go all out. Besides, this is not only their first date, but his first date, period and well, when you have not only one but two nerds to impress, there's no better place to take them than the Power Plant. Lance is sure those two will have stars in their eyes. That'll make up for whatever disinterest he himself actually has in the place.
After dragging them all the way out to Kanto without saying much more than "Please brush your hair before we leave, Pidge. And wash your hands too. And put on something nice and make sure it's clean.", Lance makes a big deal of presenting his gift to them because this boy never half-asses anything that'll get him praise. Or a kiss. Or both. Both would be nice.]
Ta-daaaa! A guided tour of the Power Plant for all your nerdy geeky engineering needs!

For his part, he knew Lance never had to worry. He was always going to be impressed by him. Convincing Lance of that, however, was a harder thing.
And as a boy whose mother raised him right, he had a little gift of his own for them later on.
The journey had been a mysterious one, but seeing how excited Lance was about unveiling this place for them would've made Hunk's eyes sparkle with or without the added bonus of it being something really cool.]
Ha! I haven't been up here yet, but I've heard cool stuff about it! Oh man, and we'll get to learn more about how electricity works here which could do wonders for a lot of the projects we have going on at the house.
[He gives Lance a warm smile, and leans down to press a kiss to his temple.] Thanks, man. This is awesome.

But she's still nervous. It's not only her first date, but it's their first date, and even though she knows logically that it shouldn't really be a big deal since the three of them already spend 4/5s of their time together as it is... She's still nervous. She wants this three person thing to work. She doesn't want this to happen in any other way.
It's fortunate then that Lance seems to be about five steps ahead of her in the Making This Work department. Pidge hadn't known what to expect on this date, but a trip to the Power Plant? That just about blows any and all of her expectations out of the water.
Her eyes almost literally light up. Hunk is clearly much better about showing how pleased he is about this in the form of physical affection, so she just beams at them both instead. ]
This is completely awesome!! [ She's already bouncing on her heels in excitement. ] How did you know we haven't been able to get up here yet?!

But his concerns are eased once he sees Hunk's and Pidge's excited reactions and that's all he wanted. Even if this whole relationship doesn't work out in the end (and he hoping it does because broken hearts suck), making his friends happy means a lot.]
If you did, you guys would have never shut up about it.
[Which translates to, yes, Lance does pay attention to things other than his hair. In any case, his cheeks tinge red when Hunk kisses him because Hunk kisses are nice and they're in public and Lance needs to control himself because his mind takes him too far ahead.
First things first, get these two dorks inside the plant. Tugging on the hem of one of his nice button down shirts, he moves to place a hand on the smalls of his partners' backs, leading them towards the door.]
Okay, do you promise not to leave sticky fingerprints on any of the red buttons that say DON'T PRESS THIS BUTTON on them?

Besides, he thought about his skin care routine a lot too.
He placed a hand on Pidge's shoulder, steering them both towards the door.]
Hey, don't look at me. My fingers aren't sticky, thank you very much.
[He nudges Pidge, accusingly but teasingly.]

Wow, my hands are not sticky, thank you. [She gives Hunk a look, even though there's absolutely no threat behind it.] But I get it, hands off the "Do Not Touch" sign.
No promises when it comes to anything that's unlabeled, though. [And there's the smirk as she faces forward again.]
So is this really guided, or can we just get the free run around for research purposes.

[He pokes her in between a couple of her ribs before skipping away to hold the door open for them, knowing that even though they're teasing the hell out of her, it's nothing new and really all just playful.]
Sorry to tell you, but it's guided. Something about not wanting to risk someone breaking things and having a citywide blackout or whatever.
[Lance shrugs as if he's having to break the bad news to the both of them that Santa doesn't exist and the Tooth Fairy was just their moms sneaking into their rooms at night.]
You can ask as many questions as you'd like though.
