mission 004/ [video/action] Ecruteak- Ghost Event
Who: Venom Snake and YOU!
Where: Ecruteak City
When: August 16th
Summary: Snake experiences the ghosts' fun and games and is possessed by a Duskull, masquerading as an old image of his rival, Volgin, from his past. The Man on Fire. An old enemy wreathed in flame cursing his every movement.
Rating: PG for now. Will increase if needed.
Log:
Snake was actually feeling a little tired after exploring the festival over the week and now sitting watching the O-Bon bonfire. The dancing had been good too. Those kimono girls could really dance. Snake had enjoyed a good smoke with his buddy, Handsome Jack, and was now alone just watching the bonfire's flames diminish in height and perform their swansong dance to extinguishment. The old soldier got up and almost instantly felt someone or something fly past him. An odd, eerie cold feeling crept up his spine and then he felt something hot. So hot. A burning sensation crawling up the back of his neck.
"What the hell?-"
He span around as if expecting to see something but there was nothing there. He was alone. All his Pokémon were tucked safety into their Pokeballs and there wasn't a human being in this part of the festival. Ghosts? Could it be true? Could the ghost Pokémon be acting up? It was a seasonal festival involving the dead after all. Snake shrugged and itched the back of his neck with his prosthetic hand then he felt a burning feeling against his hand. What the hell was going on? He then span around again and saw it. Or rather....
Him.
The Burning Man was standing right in front of him in his full glory. Snake's hand whipped to where his gun used to be on his suit but then he remembered. He wasn't wearing his camo suit, nor his combat vest. Damn. He was naked. No weapon. No defence. His enemy had come back to haunt him. How the hell could he be here?! The guy was dead! He had been defeated by water back at the mission.
"You! What the hell are you doing here? This- it's not-it can't be real!
Snake closed his eyes, felt dizzy, he felt sick. Was he hallucinating again? Was it his PSTD coming back to haunt him? He was damned if he was going to let this....monster defeat him here in the Pokémon world. He growled and launched himself at the man, aiming to punch him in his muscled stomach. Yet, the Burning Man did not move. He stood there, burning staring defiantly at the old soldier. Snake gasped, as his fist shot straight through the Burning Man's stomach.
"An illusion? What the hell are you?"
Snake pulled his fist back and blinked. The image was still there. He turned away and hoped this was all some grand, albeit cruel illusion. Yet, the Burning Man had moved to block his path again. How could he move so fast?! The floating child was nowhere to be seen either. Snake was confused, angry and unsure of what to do. None of it made any sense. It was like this man was here to torment him. To make him re-live the events of his past. He had killed this man. Again. It seemed spirits could rise again and tonight Snake was re-living a terrible nightmare all over again. He felt crippled.
"Get away from me!"

"Get away from me!"

gonna actionspam this if you don't mind
[like the Phantom, his first impulse is to fight, but he doesn't have a weapon, there's none here--]
[wait. yes, there are.]
Snake! Move!
[a Pokeball spirals through the air. more fire might not be the best choice for a fight in a city made chiefly of paper and wood, but this is an unknown threat, and Havoc is the best weapon Kaz has. the Houndoom explodes out of the ball, rushing forward with a snarl.]
Re: sure!
Pokémon aren't weapons, Kaz. He'll end up dead.
[Snake turned to his comrade with a concerned look all over his face. He didn't believe the creatures should be used as weapons, certainly not a gun and certainly not like this. The monster would surely kill Havoc.]
Fire against fire. Think it'll work?
no subject
[which is said with... a surprising amount of trust and faith. Havoc will not die, he is a truly unkillable bastard. and if he does, well--]
[--Kaz might miss him, actually.]
[meanwhile, Havoc immediately grasps that this is a serious situation, and... cuts the bullshit. he circles around the Burning Man, snapping, trying to draw its attention away from the two weaponless humans.]
Come on, pick one of yours!
no subject
It seemed feeling and hearing his master's anguish caused him to come out and defend Snake from the threat.]
DD? DD, go!
[Snake yelled at his dog to try and attack the burning man anyway he could, which included trying to snap at his heels and legs. Was it working? Snake couldn't actually tell if the jaws were piercing his skin, since the flames rippled against his form.]
Could do with a water type right now.
no subject
[Havoc obediently darts around to the left flank of the Burning Man, and leaps up at it, the right height to sink his teeth into its neck--]
[--and crashes straight through to the ground with a yelp.]
[under his breath, Kaz swears.]
no subject
Damn. It went right through him!
[Snake cursed and hissed under his breath at Havoc's fall. DD look just as baffled as the two men and launched himself towards the Burning Man and found himself missing the arm he was about to savage and landed on his side. He barked angrily and picked himself up. This wasn't working.]
What the hell is this thing? Don't tell me we can't hit him...
[But then Snake had an idea, albeit a rather crazy one, but what the hell. He pulled out another Pokeball and threw it towards the Burning Man.]
Fulton, go!
[The Pokeball flashed open and out flew a Drifloon ghost type Pokémon. It was like a purple balloon and was said to be the ghost of a popped balloon. If this was some illusion or ghost phenomenon, surely Fulton would battle the creature?]
Let's see if ghosts can see other ghosts. Fulton, go get him!
[DD backed away so that the balloon shaped Pokémon could use Astonish. Perhaps he could knock the Burning Man spirit off guard?]
