[The feed opens up on a closeup of Steve, plus half an adorable, fluffy sheep face.]

I don't get it. This isn't a Pokémon. It's a sheep. Sorry, Fluffbutt, but you're a sheep. I thought these eggs were supposed to hatch into something rare.

Also... I think Bessie had eggs?

[Steve looks rather alarmed as he pans the camera around what appears to be an inn's bedroom, coming to rest on the Miltank. She's taken up the bed, and is keeping a clutch of eggs close. It's a pretty large cluster, with six eggs altogether.]

What do I do? I don't need a whole flock of cows. I already have Bessie.

That certainly doesn't look like any Pokemon I've seen before! I wouldn't underestimate it based off of its appearance. It's quite adorable, don't you think?

[ and moving on to the eggs: ]

Have you considered selling some of those eggs to other trainers? I know I'd sure be interested in grabbing one for myself.

Maybe not here, but at home you can find fields of them.

[Not... quite. But in any case he doesn't seem to mind her sticking close to him. Everything is still new and exciting, and she seems extremely fascinated by face on the screen.]

I could sell them. Bessie's a super powerful Miltank. The only problem is I don't know which Pokémon the dad is.

Oh. ... I see how that may be a problem.

[ she holds her hand up, pressing her thumb to her chin. ]

Do you think it'd make a difference when you're selling them?

I don't know. I guess I could say it's a surprise.

Some people like that, right?

[John brings his own Wooloo, Tucker, into the feed. He has her sitting in his lap like a dog.]

It might all be cows but it might also be whoever the dad was, I think. Anyway it's really cool you also got a Wooloo! I think they are just rare because they are a new Pokemon gen or something, so we are the first people to get this sheep! It is definitely not just a normal sheep: the guide says it can fall off a cliff and live because of its wool!

I don't know who the dad was. My Arcanine, Swampert, and Skuntank are boys, so I guess he's one of those?

Ha, you read that thing? [That statement, unfortunately, probably explains a lot of the problems Steve runs into with his training. He prods at the newly hatched Wooloo's wool curiously, though, and wow... that sure is springy.] Too bad there aren't any cliffs in this town.

[Fluffbutt doesn't look like she shares the sentiment. She looks up at Steve, bleating out a nervous "meh?"]

Wow, it just happens, huh, without any indication. I better start keeping an eye on my pokemon!

Anyway, there is a lot of weird stuff in there, it's worth a read. [John releases Tucker with one hand to lean forward and start scrolling through his gear. He keeps talking without looking up at the camera.] Like, once I found this sweet grandpa dragon in the forest on one of the islands, and I checked his entry... And apparently he tracks down bullies and burns down their house! Ok, here it is: "If a child it has made friends with is bullied, Drampa will find the bully's house and burn it to the ground." [He looks back up again.] Crazy, right?

I guess so? I didn't know Bessie like liked any of my Pokémon.

[Of course, it isn't often Bessie gives any indication she feels anything besides vague contentment.

He laughs nervously at John's description of the grandpa dragon. Steve's obnoxious and not all that bright, but he's not entirely oblivious of what he is.]

Yeah. Crazy. Do you really think one of them would do that?

Yeah...I don't know how to look for that but I guess I should learn? I don't want hundreds of baby pokemon!

Anyway it's got to be true, this is the official guide to the world by pokemon researchers!

Neither do I! But I already have six eggs.

A baby?! Oh, you mean Fluffbutt, right? Anyway I guess you can at least sell eggs to anyone who wants either a cow or a mystery!

Right. She just hatched. She's a baby.

[Even having made the mistake of working on MooMoo Farm for a week, a sheep hatching from an egg still seems crazy to him.]

I guess. Do you want a mystery cow? Bessie's top tier, so even if some of these eggs don't hatch into one, they're bound to be awesome Pokémon.

[John chews his lip, looking thoughtful.]

I am still kind of broke from Christmas so I can't really buy anything right now. I could promise you an accident egg in the future, maybe?

Yeah, that could work! Maybe I'll have less eggs to deal with by the time that happens.

[Although, honestly, between Rocket wages and his gym quest he's not exactly strapped for cash anyway. He might be a little less generous otherwise.]

Isn't it wonderful? I've never seen a Pokemon like this before, but my egg hatched into one, too!

I mean, she's cute, but... she's a sheep!

[You've already said that, Steve.]

What's wrong with being a sheep? And I don't think usual sheep roll the way Looloo does...

Nothing's wrong with it. Sheep are great.

[He glances round furtively and covers Fluffbutt's ears before he says anything else, dropping his voice to a whisper.]

I just thought maybe it'd be something cooler.

Oh I think sheep are very 'cool'! They grow their very own jackets right out of their body! And if it gets shaved off they just grow another one! And their old jackets make jackets for humans! That's amazing!

Oh yes, that reminds me...it says in the Pokedex that they need to be trimmed and if their fur gets too thick it can trap them.

[Despite seeming pretty unimpressed with his new Pokémon, Steve looks pretty horrified by the thought of Fluffbutt becoming trapped. He holds her protectively, though her wool is nowhere near that long yet.]

Trim them? I don't know how to trim a sheep!

Scissors? That's what the woman in Goldenrod used to trim me!

[You can practically see the cogs turning in Steve's head. That doesn't sound right, but also... this is an adult. Wouldn't she know?]

Yeah, but... isn't it different for people?

Hmmm.

[Rose purses her lips in thought for a moment. Then she reaches up and tugs on one of her own thick curls, and moves to give one of Looloo's curls a similar tug.]

I don't think so!

[Steve's hair is, admittedly, completely uncomparable to a Wooloo's. He picks up a lock from his head, squinting up at the end of it.]

Huh. I guess you'd know better.
