I know by now most, if not all, of you must have gotten one of these. And I won't tell you not to go. I don't think that is my place.

But I think it is only fair to let everybody -- especially people who haven't been here very long -- know that the last few years, these parties have had a bad habit of attracting... trouble. It is possible I'm being overly cautious and that this year's might be completely fine [but he doubts it] but it might be a good idea to bring your strongest pokemon. And some healing items.

Not everyone... Back home there were plenty who conveniently didn't mention the... antagonistic nature of an event many joined into.

It is a marked difference between a kind heart and a less kind one, that without seeking personal gain you would warn of such a concern.

I'm starting to think I should catch a dedicated healing pokemon. It'd be good to have for situation such as these.

I know you feel that way, but a lot of people don't like fighting as much as you do. And if they don't know about what might happen, they could get hurt. Especially if they haven't been here for long.

I think there'd be a bigger chance of people ignoring me if I told them not to go. It might come off as crazy to someone who doesn't know what happened the last few times. Advising people to bring their best team seems like a safer compromise.

Are you going? You don't have to, you know. I'll be there. It's all right for you to stay at home if you'd rather do that.

The first one or two were purely pleasant events, if I remember correctly. But after that...

['After that' was a nightmare. Literally, at least once.]

The biggest question is: will the disturbance be caused by humans or by Pokémon, this time? Or both, sometimes it's both.

What exactly is a "prom," and why do they attract trouble?

It's a big party. It's sort of like a ball, really. People dress up, there is a lot of dancing and fancy food. Usually, it's held in a pretty upscale place too.

And the last few years, it seems there is always something that goes wrong. One year it was Team Rocket who attacked us all during Prom. The year after that some of those Ultra Beasts invaded the beach during. At least last year it was almost low-key with just some tremendously bad weather.

I really wouldn't advise it. If it is anything like we have faced before, trying to fight it yourself would put you at real risk of injury.
