WOAAAH! We are going to Sinnoh!
Come Sunday, the Goldenrod City Pokecentre is the scene of a cheerful chaos. Moreso than usual, even! Trainers and luggage arrive all throughout the day, and are herded together by some of the cheerful Joy staff, while Lance and his E4 companions check everybody off on lists. Nobody is getting left behind on this trip (except the people who didn’t sign up.)
Once everybody is present--and the lists have been triple checked to ensure that’s the case--Lance calls attention to himself. By now it’s early evening.
“Hello everyone, I’m very glad to see you all here. According to my list, we’re all in attendance, so it’s time to start making our way towards Sinnoh. I’m sure some of you have been wondering how we’ll get there… rest assured that your questions will be answered in just a few moments.”
After that, he steps aside and gestures towards… the warp pad? Are we warping to Sinnoh? Is that something you can do?
There’s only one way to find out!
One by one, the characters and their luggage are herded onto the warp pad and transported to… an airport?
Yes, it is an airport. The sight of those gleaming hallways may be utterly alien to some, but those with some familiarity with air travel should be able to recognise it for what it is. Staff members are on standby already, cheerfully directing characters to leave their baggage on nearby trolleys.
Lance is the last one to arrive, and he immediately launches into an explanation, hoping to preempt the storm of questions.
“Allow me to explain. This is Johto regional airport. While most regions have warp systems to facilitate travel inside a particular region, when it comes to long distance travel between regions, we use airplanes. In the past, airports were built in high-population areas, but this led to a lot of disturbances that affected both people and Pokemon. The modern solution has been for regions to build new airports, away from human cities and Pokemon habits. The Johto Regional Airport happens to be built at sea.”
And no, don’t even bother asking him for its exact location. His expression tells you all you need to know about the likelihood of Lance telling you.
“But we shouldn’t dawdle. There is a plane waiting to take you all directly to the Sinnoh Regional Airport. Unfortunately, my fellow E4 members and I won’t be able to join you on your trip. However we hope that you will enjoy seeing more of this world... and perhaps in the future this can happen more often.”
He doesn’t say not to cause trouble, but please, for Lance’s sake: don’t cause any trouble.
After that, the airport staff take over, bustling everybody across the airport at a rapid pace and towards a waiting airplane. They explain that the trip will take some hours, but that by morning, characters should arrive in Sinnoh. Bags are loaded, characters are installed in their seats (no fighting for the window seat) and the customary safety debriefing is delivered by a stewardess Lopunny, indicating the exits here, here, and here with practised sweeps of her adorable paws.
The flight itself is of little note. Narratively, at least. It might be incredibly interesting to characters who have never flown before, but for those who have, it’s a rather boring, uneventful flight. And once they land in Sinnoh, the same scenes from their time in the Johto regional airport play out in reverse. Characters are herded off the plane by another crew of cheerful airport staff. Bags are retrieved and matched up with their owners once more (don’t worry, nobody’s bag went missing) and once that’s all done, it’s onto the warp pad again.
This time, when they materialise, characters find themselves standing in the Eterna City pokemon centre. It… doesn’t really look all that different from all the other Pokemon centres they’ve visited so far, but just outside its doors lies a new region waiting to be discovered. A woman in shorts and wearing a strange half-cape is waiting for them, throwing her arms open wide in cheerful greeting.
“Welcome to Sinnoh!”
And with that, our Trip To Sinnoh plot is live. Gardenia will give your characters a short rundown of important sights and directions, as well as answer any questions they might have, before they are free to do whatever they want for the next two weeks.
Please feel free to post your own logs or network communications related to this trip in the
victory_road comm. Good news: the network can still communicate with those that chose to stay behind in Kanto and Johto! Meanwhile, we (the mods) will utilise this post to put up any and all mini-events, and the comments on this post will be locked until those go live. If you need a refresher or have any questions about the event, please check out our OOC info post here, which is also where you can ask any other questions you might have.
We've also created the tag !Sinnohtrip, so feel free to tag your posts with that to make everything easy to find in the future.

[He lets out a little sigh, taking Snappy off his shoulder, kissing the top of his head, recalling him, then calls out his vulpix. Charisma Legend hops into his arms nigh-immediately, and he ends up carrying her like a baby.]
Aight. Lessgo.
no subject
So, brother... Erm, how does it work? Battling...
[he's too timid, fighting for sport is not his forte]
no subject
Well, usually in the tall grass, there's a lot of Pokemon wandering around, right? You call out one of your own Pokemon and try to make the best possible usage of their moves. You have to remember the types properly, of course, so I brought out Charry because fire burns grass. Fire types beat Grass types.
They're just gonna skitter up to my feet and I'm gonna sic Charry's best moves on 'em, and when they seem weak enough, y'toss a pokeball in. If it stays inside, it's yours. Simple, right?
[He had this info drilled into his head during hell week and that's the only reason why he knows.]
no subject
What happens if it does not stay in the ball you throw at it?
no subject
Well, if it pops out, you either weaken it more and try again or it might run away. Or you knock it out, get your own Pokemon some more experience, and move on.
no subject
I see. It is not so difficult to understand. Though it probably takes practice to become an expert.
no subject
You're gonna learn how to battle it up like an ace. Just like me!
[I'm a great role model.]
no subject
I saw many Pokémon in the meadow nearby, so, maybe that is where we should go.
no subject
[He's not an ace, but he'll bullshit that he is all day every day.]
no subject
his palms are sweaty, even though he's not doing any of the actual work. but he makes certain to watch Osomatsu and see what he is doing]
no subject
Alright, Charry. Do your best.
[The first pokemon he finds is a Formantis.]
Bingo. Alright, Kara. Keep a pokeball ready, this lil guy's for you. Charry! Ember!
[It's super effective! Osomatsu learned his typing well. He smirks, then glances back to Kara.]
Go, bro!
no subject
Karamatsu scrambles to grab the extra pokéball. as Fomantis wobbles and struggles to stay awake, Karamatsu tosses out an extra pokéball he's had on his belt.
and then they wait.
the ball clicks open and Fomatis is sucked inside. the ball wiggles, wiggles, wiggles... and then the red light goes away. the ball stops wiggling]
...?
no subject
HA!
[He picks up the pokeball, and tosses it to Kara.]
Easy as pie. Y'get to name 'em now and they're yours~
no subject
...I don't know what I want to name it, yet. After I heal it at the Pokémon Center, I will take it out and get to know it better. For now, though...
[he looks up at Osomatsu]
Thank you, brother. You really are quite good at this.
no subject
[He beams, scratching under his nose.]
Hey, no problem. It's a miracle, right? I found something I'm good at! So that's why I'm gonna keep training, and then I'm gonna beat the first gym with a full team.
...You're eventually gonna have to do the same. I dunno what it is about it, but if you don't...your Pokemon won't listen to you as well when they get stronger. So keep that in mind.
[He takes out a Pokeball of his own.]
Y'wanna watch while I get a friend for myself, too?
no subject
he settles in, studying the flowers until he sees a swaying patch]
Ah! Something is moving over there.
no subject
Ooooh. Hiya, friend~
[A mildly annoyed looking Roselia.]
You're gonna be mine now!
no subject
Ooooh! C'est magnifique, brother! It is beautiful!
no subject
[The Roselia gives Oso an appraising stare before it is promptly blasted with fire from Charry, who lets out a little huff. Smirking, Oso tosses a Pokeball at it, and hums to himself. It shakes...and shakes....
Click.]
no subject
You did it! Well done!
no subject
Thaaaaank you~ now we've both got new friends! You're pretty far away from a whole team, but me...
I've got my stable all set.
[He beams.]
no subject
[his smile is warm, but then Karamatsu turns away, walking back towards Floaroma Town. time to heal these guys up, and get to know them]
You have helped me a lot. I am very grateful.
[he was a fool for thinking Osomatsu was bad! such a fool]
no subject
[He follows after. He has to get his newest friend healed...but what will he name her? ... Ariana Grande. Yes. The queen.]
I'm your niichan, after all! Niichan always is helpful~
[Right? Osomatsu is the best. Obviously. Nothing bad here!]
