The thing about holidays is that they really can't last forever. And neither can this one.
Sunday sees the characters all getting ready to go back home, something which undoubtedly involves all those last-day-of-the-holidays shenanigans -- some last-minute shopping for souvenirs for people you forgot all about, some people putting off packing until the very last minute while others have gone through their suitcase checklists at least five times by now, and there are undoubtedly a few people eyeing the towels and wondering if those would fit in their suitcases as well. Hopefully, you didn't forget to pack anything, but surely the people of the hostel (or the inn, or the hotel) will be willing to mail it to you if you did.
(Maybe less willing if you did steal those towels)
Leaving Sinnoh happens in the same way everybody arrived: Sunday evening, everybody is herded together in the pokecenter where the warp pad takes everybody to the Sinnoh Regional Airport.
There is just one small difference -- unfortunately, the airplane is delayed a bit.
Everybody gets herded into the airport lounge to wait for a bit while smiling airport employees hand out complimentary cups of coffee and tea (well, is it really complimentary if it is all being billed to Lance?) all while explaining that it shouldn't be too much longer. They just need to take care of a rather stubborn flock of Skarmory close to the runway and then they should be able to get underway!
Not the perfect going home trip, but hey, it's not too bad, right? There is a TV playing in the waiting lounge so you've got something to watch, at least. It is set to some local news channel. The anchor is reporting on an incident that took place on television just that morning. Apparently, a rather famous host (well, famous in Sinnoh, at least) of a well-watched breakfast show had gotten attacked live on-screen by an out of control Chimchar. It had been bad enough that it had taken three members of security and their pokemon to subdue the Chimchar. The Chimchar's owner/manager (the Chimchar is somewhat of a celebrity too, having starred in many poke-commercials and shows) is briefly shown too, looking incredibly distraught, babbling about how Henry had never acted like that before, it was like he was possessed or something, and he had always been such a good boy.
The anchor shakes his head, mentioning that the Jennies are investigating the case, and thankfully, a few broken bones had been the worst of the injuries sustained by the host.
Wow. That sure is a story. Thankfully you are all going back to Kanto and Johto now and this will not be relevant to you again at all. Ever.
Next up--
Oh wait, there are the airport employees again. Apparently the Skarmory problem has been dealt with and the plane is ready for departure. Thankfully that wasn't too long a wait.
Time to go home!
