No animals at all. Nothing to watch as you idle in the grass. What an empty and sterile world that would be.
"Must have been a lot to adapt to when you first came here."

Grass was also something totally new to her. All non food plants were actually.
"Yeah. It was confusing. And pokemon aren't even the animals I read about in school."
It was a lot. Especially the wild pokemon attacks during the first routes where she was already a wild bundle of nerves.

"It really makes me feel people should get a better introduction to this world than just... whoever the woman is that calls herself mom."
no subject
"They should. I keep saying they should put someone else there instead of that lady who just lies to you."
Will Newt ever get over her hatred of 'Mom'? Not today.
"If everyone knows people show up there, then maybe people wouldn't be so confused. I thought someone had kidnapped me from a spaceship somehow until I talked to people on the gear."
no subject
Perhaps one day one of them will be naturally inclined towards that sort of thing.
"That's why I always try to talk with anyone new I see on the network. To answer their questions, at least, though I think it would be better in person."

Look she showed up in the middle of winter and had to walk to the next town while having never seen snow or been outside for long periods of time before. It's really lucky she was drawn to hiding in small warm places and was with a fire pokemon.
"Yeah. And people taking you seriously helps a lot."

And even if they did, you'd never know when you would next leave. So it would really need to be an organisation rather than the work of one person.
"Maybe we should put a sign across of that house. With some of the most basic information."
no subject
She kind of gets that, she's only been here for a few years and sometimes it's hard to try and talk to new people because maybe they'll be gone next month.
"That might help. Do you think people would leave it up if we did it?"
no subject
Maybe they can ask Lance? Lance seems to be on their side. And if they have Newt make the request, who could ever deny a cute girl like Newt anything?
no subject
"And we could say it would help people not break laws and stuff too if we put them up."
no subject
It's just a sign, but it is still more than there is now. Surely nobody could object to a simple sign, right? Especially if it is helping people. Maybe they should find some way to include more information. Could they pay someone in New Bark town to overlook it and occasionally restock information packets? This will require much thinking.
