I left a bunch of escape ropes at the forest's entrance, by the way. Can't miss them. Feel free to take one, those paths are surprisingly confusing.

Perhaps classification methods have evolved over time?

Surely a mere classification issue wouldn't explain the whole spontaneous immunity to Dragon-types?
Not that I'm complaining about that, for the record.

Either way, I am grateful for it - like you, I also have no complaints.
From what I remember hearing about Dragon Types when I was younger, they were probably the toughest obstacles to overcome in the game. Perhaps the Fairy typing emerged as a method to balance the playing field?

Could be. Otherwise dragons only have ice and themselves as weaknesses, and those aren't exactly the most widespread types around.

That and Ice types can be a bit fragile unless you go looking for the very sturdy ones.
That, and Dragons seem to be able to learn Fire type moves in a snap.

Considering the number of stories that involve dragons breathing fire, I'd be disappointed if they didn't, but it does suck for Ice-types in general.

The entire thing is - or I guess was - such a risk! It's no wonder lots of strong trainers end up with at least one dragon on their team.
It just ups the challenge even more.
Still...I suppose I am very relieved to have ended up in this world when things have balanced themselves out to a degree.

Ah, but back when the deck was far more stacked in their favor, what a great pleasure it was to destroy one with mere ice cream! ...Or with an Ambipom and a Linoone. I think Clair has yet to forgive me for that.

Full disclosure: it was only the regular team.
But I'd earned a few badges with only my Normal-types by them, my earliest captures had already reached level 100, and I'd heard Clair was the prideful type.
So the question was: if properly boosted, can a Linoone defeat her whole team with Play Rough and Slash?

That's still impressive to me! The Pokemon on that one surely pose their own challenge.

But that IS a good question.
Can a Linoone do such a thing?
