[ What first appears on the feed is a teenage boy's face, expression set in a thoughtful frown as he evidently fiddles with his device. At least, that's what one is left to assume as his hands appear to be moving just out of frame. What's most prominent, however, is the black spade set over his right eye.

Distracting as that might be, it's certainly not what Deuce intends to talk about as he props his gear up and angles it just so, revealing a small, floating cream-colored creature behind him. Just for emphasis, he points right at it. ]

This thing isn't really cream, is it? I don't know any spells that could do something like that. [ He pauses, bringing a hand to his chin as he considers this. ] I mean, I've heard of bread-and-butterflies, but... Just cream, with a face...?

[ The more he thinks about it, the more puzzled he seems, brows knitting together in confusion. ]

[ He jolts, shoulders bunching up as he chokes down a surprised noise. So he'd been heard, huh? But maybe that's a good thing, because... ]

S-so you mean I won't have her worried I ran off someplace?

[ That'd be a load off his mind. ]

I don't know if I get the whole breeding...thing...but you're saying these little guys fight?

[ He points at his floating blob of cream for emphasis. ]

No, everything'll be fine. I'd be worried about the same thing otherwise!

Yeah, they do! Even that one. [Even though Milcery isn't the most intimidating Pokemon out there.] Most of them actually really enjoy it. Training Pokemon has a whole big culture around it here, everyone knows about it.

I bet...vanishing all of a sudden'd really put a scare in people otherwise.

[ And the last thing he wants to do is cause his mom more grief. ]

I have to admit, it's a bit hard to imagine this little thing [ He has not yet realized a living mass of cream has a gender, no surprise. ] wanting to get into a brawl.

Well, Pokemon are usually pretty sporting about it. They don't seriously hurt each other unless it gets really out of control somehow.

So even a little creampuff like the one I've got does that for fun?

[ Openly perplexed as he is, it's a sentiment he could relate to. ]

It might! My Montblanc prefers baking though.

Yeah! I've got a Slurpuff too, and they both work the kitchen together. They started off rocky at first, but now they're really good at it!

Slurpuff...? Is it some kind of living food-thing too?

Kind of. Sticky's kind of like, half strawberry milk flan, half puppy. But he walks on two legs.... Well, more like waddles.

A flan...puppy... [ He tries to picture this, and perhaps fortunately, he does come from the Country of Roses so... ] Well, I've heard of a dog with a broom face before...

You can look any Pokemon you want up on the 'Gear there, under the Pokedex option. If you type in "Slurpuff" it should come up!

So that's what that is...?

[ He frowns thoughtfully at the device, and judging from the way his gloved hand eclipses the screen, it seems he's giving it a try.

Yep! He's a little pudding puppy. One of my oldest Pokemon too.

How do you tell how old they are?

[ He asks, peering at the dex image.

Is it the kind of thing people have an eye for, after a while? ]

Oh! I mean, he's one of the one's I caught-- well, actually I hatched Sticky from an egg a friend gave me. But he's one of the first ones I got on my team.

[pursuit]

So you're saying these guys come from eggs?

[ He's been wrong about eggs before; he needs to be sure here... ]

[forsaintcecilia]

Yeah, all Pokemon come from eggs. Even the ones that look like mammals.

[pursuit]

I'd have never guessed... Not that I've seen anything exactly like these before.

[ Not that this wasn't obvious, he knows... ]

It's all pretty weird at first, but you start expecting it after awhile.

I hope you're right about that... I'm not the quickest learner.

You will! My world is super mundane, and even I figured out how to fit in here.

I'll take your word for it... But I bet your mundane's pretty novel to somebody.

Haha, yeah, it is! There are people here that don't even have electricity in their worlds yet, it's wild. I can't imagine how strange this all must have seemed to them.

And here I thought it was tough just doing without magic... We come from some really different places after all.
