B. action

[If anyone's on the lookout for newbies, Terezi can be spotted sitting by a flowerbed next to "Mom's" house. She doesn't look any less human than anyone else here, at least at first. Though her ears have a bit of a point, they're hidden by her black hair, and the sharpness of her teeth is concealed by her pursed lips as she taps away at her Pokégear. No, if there's anything to raise concern, it's the fact that she looks like she's had a bad accident with some paint, or perhaps smashed a box worth of Grape-Berry Double Homicide Gushers against herself. Teal and purple mar her shirt and even stick to her face and arms in places.]

[It doesn't really smell like paint, or the corn syrup-laden fruit approximant of candy, either. It's dry by now, but one might recognize the smell of blood.]

[Her starter isn't far: a Gible wanders about the flowerbed proper, occasionally casting a concerned glance back at her new trainer in between devouring whatever blooms might remain at this time of year. She'll settle for withered stems, too; she ain't picky.]

[Well, thanks to Dirk, he can identify who this is by her quirk alone. Something he might have found a touch obnoxious at first, but he's since gotten over that hurdle.]

Generally the answer is no, more is needed than mere soap, but you will be harder pressed in your endeavor depending on whether the blood has set into the fabric or not.

Is this fresh blood, or dried blood?

Would it be remiss of me to assume you are quite all right, if the stains are your primary concern?

My condolences, I would ordinarily hope that the death was a peaceful one, but considering your concerns about the blood that was once fresh, I would say all evidence points to "no". A pity, really. Fortunately for you, however, death means little here, as you can see by the fact you need not worry about the onset of rigor mortis.

Small blessings.

Nevertheless, welcome to this queer crossroads of the quite apparent multiverse, I am Solus zos Galvus, a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

As for the matter of your clothing, if you have not discovered it already, within the knapsack you were bequeathed, there is likewise a spare outfit--yet another point of fortune in your favor, aren't you a lucky one?

As for the blood itself, might I suggest soaking it in cold water with a touch of salt. This will make your scrubbing of the stain far more fruitful of an endeavor. The use of the soap is optional, but it certainly would not hurt.

You are hardly alone in such anticipation. Alas.

You are correct in that all whom arrive indeed suffer the same treatment upon their arrival. While I've not the solid proof to prove this, a running theory I find myself ever beholden to is that we are in a simulation of some sort. Thus when one arrives, all experience the same scenario. The script never changes, yet the world at large does.

It is all rather fascinating--or would be, if it was more carefully constructed. But never you mind about that, the flaws and inconsistencies of this star will be apparent in time.

Regardless, you are most certainly welcome. Need you guidance, all you must needs do is ask. I shall be glad to provide it.

[Uhhhhhh-

Well, he has to think about this for a minute.
]

I think it depends on how long the blood has been in the fabric? Also what kind of fabric it is. I know a lot of people just end up using bleach, but if the fabric wasn't white to begin with then that's not really going to be a good idea...

Though...I'm not really sure there's a lot that can hurt us enough to bleed here?

If you ask at a store, you should ask about getting rid of ink- it isn't the same of blood obviously, but it's still a permanent enough staining fluid that it'd probably get you a good product without getting people worked up at the store right?

Re: the blood. Fresh or dried?

Hi, by the way. Sup. Welcome to the purgatory of relevance. Population: us.

[Holy. Shit.

Excited? Me? Over a Troll?

Hmm. Yeah. Maybe. A little, anyway.

But not too excited. There's a lot of conditions that have to be met first.

It's no big deal, but I don't know when Terezi is from, or what she (doesn't) know(s). In theory, her inquiries into laundering blood out of clothes and interest in John are clues. But practically speaking... I need to tread carefully.

[Oh dear

It hadn't been for long, and they hadn't been close, but Jane hasn't forgotten anyone from her universe(s?) that has come here, that she's met. She knows this is Terezi.

Looks like she's back.]

You are going to want soap much stronger than that in order to wash out bloodstains.

[The fact that she's not even questioning why someone might have to do that is. Well. Some things never do seem too alarming or strange again.]

You're going to want an oxygenated bleach and cold water, honestly. But the stuff you have might work to get the smaller stains out? Again, with cold water.
Also, hello, this is John's, uh, Teen Nanna.

[Ugh. Trolls typing quirks. They're such a goddamn pain to read and 100% why he dropped reading Homestuck at the beginning of act five. This is GallowsCalliber, right? One of the less painful quirks to deal with, given that it was all just l33t speak—in retrospect, Hussie had been trying to ease them into it with the early troll appearances—but still not something he particularly wants to deal with.

Luckily, he has a plan: switch to voice and hope GC follows suit.]

Honestly, it depends on how old the bloodstain is and how saturated. And, of course, if you've attempted to wash the stain before. If it's a brand new stain and not too saturated, then soap and cold water can do wonders with getting blood or any other red stain such as ketchup or spaghetti sauce out, but it has to be cold water. Hot water will cause the stain to set. Generally, the faster you can get red stains under soap and cold water, the better.

[It's unfortunate that, while so many people here either know who Terezi is or know what Homestuck is, Vinegar Doppio is from 2001.]

Is your PokéGear broken or something?

Cold water and friction are your best friends. Scrubbing the fabric against itself while submerged can get more out than a lot of people think.

I have actually met you once before, but it was here, and...things are always a little wobbly in these parts, I'm afraid, so don't worry about it.
It is lovely to meet you.

[Even if it's again.]

Oh, that's...no, that's a good point. Bleach will sap all color from a garment.
But yes, definitely stick to the cold water! Hot water will set the stain and it will absolutely refuse to come out.

Are, um. Are you alright?
Not bleeding out I hope?
uber_marionettist: (Away from every memory of you)

Ouch. Sucks, but John's teen nanna down there probably has the right of it. She's the expert in these things.

As for this place... I hate to say it, but this isn't in the Medium. It may not even be in Paradox Space proper, and it's definitely not connected to the Game. We've got a few different timelines and so on jammed together just from our canon, and a lot of actors from other sources. For a while we actually had a handful of guys from John's favourite movie.

[My dropping a casual mention of 'canon' was deliberate, and so is my repeated use of John as a point of reference. I could say a lot, I could lay it all out in... oh, a thousand words or so, if I really wanted. But I don't want to scare her off.]

Believe it or not, there are those skeptical of such an obvious truth, despite the evidence. I suppose any fool will look for scraps to bolster whatever plausible deniability there is for their own meager comfort and limited understanding of the world.

Though perhaps it is unkind of me to be so judgmental, when I well know there are those among us who have nary beheld an electronic ere their arrival, let alone a video game.

While I am still quite naive as to the ways of Time, I can say that with all certainty that you are correct - this place and the Medium aren't congruent in that matter at all.

Hoo, you can call me Jane if that's easier!
And I'm glad you're physically alright now. Even if, ah. Even if there are significant reminders of what happened all over your person.
fingersandteeth: (unsure)

even if i purposely crippled his knowledge of homestuck to only the first four acts

[personal profile] fingersandteeth 2020-10-14 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
... honestly, I'm not sure? But I don't think it hurts to try them with cold water. I can't think of any stains that set with cold water.

Is it brown? Blood tends to dry brown.

And don't worry about Berrymaw. I've got a little ghost dragon of my own and she loves to eat everything. I think it might just be a dragon thing.
