So, ah... We're in the middle of an argument, I guess... And my trying to intervene only made it worse, so... time for a poll, I guess.

What's your favorite hot drink for a chilly day? Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, or something else?

It's definitely about coffee, that much I'm sure of. As for why... I'm pretty sure Rose must have said something that upset Marian, but I have no idea what.

[like it could be the other way around, but it was probably Rose who started it, let's be real...]

So you're thinking they're getting worked up over personal tastes...

[ Well, he can certainly see that happening with guys at school. And he does remember being told the creatures here don't always get along.

How long have they been at it?

They came to me about it about ten minutes ago, but they've probably been going for longer than that.

[Every indication points to them being able to go at this for a while still, too.]

Haaaa, I know they've never really gotten along that well, but it's never been this bad...

That sounds like a pain.

[ Especially being in the middle of it, and unable to resolve it. ]

Do they know you can get hot chocolate flavored coffee?

Yeah! Especially around winter break, I see a lot of stuff like that. If they've got it here, maybe you could take them to try it.

[ And if fortune favors them, perhaps that'll be a beverage they can agree on. ]

Ahh, maybe... Though Marian's probably had it before, knowing her, and Rose can be stubborn... Might be worth suggesting, though.

Hopefully it'll give them something else to think about.

Ahh, is there a special place you have to go to get this? Or is it something coffee shops and such make regularly?

Around the holidays, it should be easy to find in a cafe, or even bags you can prepare for yourself at grocery stores.

[the quarreling Yamask and Clefairy take this opportunity to get even louder, and even higher pitched somehow, though shockingly no actual attacks have been loosed yet]

...If I can get these two to agree to a temporary truce, anyway.

They...really do sound upset.

[ Did he and Ace get that loud when they disagreed...? Deuce hopes it doesn't sound that discordant. ]

D'you think they'd cut it out if you asked them for a hand with something?

[ Assuming they both like their Trainer, or Breeder, whichever job the guy has, they might set the argument aside for someone they care about. At least, it's worked for him. ]

Dunno... I'd have to find something to ask both of them for help with at the same time, is the problem, or else the one I don't ask'll get mad at me for favoring the other. And they don't really work together all that well - they're usually content to ignore each other, for the most part. That they're this mad at each other is...

[He sighs, and the next part is said about half as loud.]

I don't know what it is Rose must have said to Marian to piss her off this badly...

Can you think of something neither of them is great at, but they'd both be willing to try? Sometimes stuff like that helps, when you've got conflicts of personality.

[ He can speak from experience on that. At the onset, he never expected he'd get along with a guy like Ace...not that he'll cop to softening on that stance now. ]

Problem is, right now it'd probably have to be something they could do in different rooms...

[although he does look slightly thoughtful]

That does make it harder... Maybe something that needs assembling? Sometimes there's parts that need to be put together first before you can assemble what they're made for.

[ Although given the way they all need to travel, it might be pretty hard to come up with something like that. ]

You know, we could always just make cider or spiced wine for the rest of the season if they can't come to an agreement...

Well, either they'll decide they like one or both of those better, or both of them get so sick of them they'll be willing to make a truce just to go back to their favorites.

Or they decide to be stubborn and the others start getting annoyed that there's only cider available...

Then the others can let their feelings be known to whoever's being stubborn about it.

That assumes that they decide to complain to them, instead of me.
