Video | Backdated to the 31st
[It's the evening of the 31st and after three very busy weeks, Jaskier is finally leaving Goldenrod! Yet he isn't recording this at a route, he's at some room? A moving room. The background noise will tell you this is a private car in the Magnet Train, because this bard and his witcher are leaving for Kanto! Since it's warm inside the cabin, Jaskier's ditched his cloak and he's lounging around in a simple cardigan and shirt. Rings decorate the fingers currently holding a teacup, and on the table in front of him where the Pokégear stands recording, there's a plate with delicate pastries, the teapot... and little a cushion. A cushion where Regina the Ducklett is currently sleeping while wearing the golden ribbon they won at the contest.
Yes, Jaskier is showing off. Yes, his ego is too big for his own good. No, he doesn't care. Sue him.]
We've been in this realm for two months yet its scientific achievements continue to amaze me. [He speaks while looking through the window at the passing scenery.] A cart that needs no horse or magic! Faster than a wyvern! As noisy as one, as well, but that's a price I'm willing to pay in exchange for these comforts. They said we'd arrive at the neighbor kingdom in only six hours, and I can sleep through most of that! A true wonder!
[After taking another sip of his tea, he puts the cup down as he turns to look at the camera properly now.]
But I do not wish to go to bed yet! I've got a few important announcements to make. I spent my time in Goldenrod learning more about these computers I'm praising so much, and now I'm proud to say my career has officially started, as they say, "online"! [He leans in over the table to type on the Pokégear and attach a link to his carrd/linktree.] All my songs have been recorded, together with my beloved Pokémon, into these "music videos"! I've published the lyrics, together with my poetry, in book form as well. Which wasn't an easy task, let me tell you - why are these keyboards not in alphabetical order? It's baffling, to say the least. [Qwerty can go fuck itself, Jaskier thinks.] Anyway, a little over twenty years of barding are now available to everyone! I hope I can count on your patronage.
[A little over twenty years - that says something about his age, doesn't it? Next, Jaskier attaches a list of eggs.]
While I worked on my art and the quills to go with Geralt's inks, I also allowed my Pokémon to breed, so I have a few eggs for sale. I think the price is quite fair, but I'm open to trading too if you have anything that may catch my interest. And that reminds me - Claude, dear, that gift I promised? Is ready for you.
[Now all businesses have been covered, Jaskier relaxes - he sits back, crosses his legs and grabs his teacup again. But no, the post isn't over yet. He likes to talk, okay? He's a bard, he's in love with the sound of his own voice.]
Since my grumpy companion is currently napping, would any of you mind offering your company for this ride? I'm open to all kinds of conversation, although there are a couple of topics that have been on my mind lately. First, I wish to speak to any traveller that has been here since the beginning of these strange arrivals, or for at least six years. I may be interested to start a project to record the history of our people's experience in this world in the future, but I need to see exactly how much information is still fresh in the people's minds.
[More sipping of tea before continuing.]
Second, it's been brought to my attention that many adults around here are still naive when it comes to the matters of love - and I don't mean just the feelings, if you catch my drift. [He winks at the camera.] And honestly, I found this even more baffling than the keyboards! This realm allows information to be free for everyone instead of hoarded by scholars and mages! Available at the end of your fingertips! Do you have any idea what I would've given to have this "internet" in my world? Bawdy books cost an arm and a leg and could only be acquired in shady alleys that would give you at least ten different illness by just breathing in them. [Huff!!!] Nevertheless, if anyone needs guidance or has any questions, I'm here to answer them for you. You could say I'm quite experienced in--
[It's at that exact moment that Geralt photobombs the recording, walking by behind Jaskier while being shirtless, scars and muscles all exposed because clearly he hasn't caught on the fact his BFF is streaming. Cursing under his breath, Jaskier turns off the feed as his other hand grabs a cushion to throw at the witcher's head...]

What else could we possibly talk about? [Oh, he knows. But gotta tease first!
That last comment gets a nod from Jaskier.] Luxurious, isn't it? As soon as we heard private cabins were available, we knew we had to get one instead of regular tickets. I like my comforts, and so does Geralt, no matter how much he grumbles about unnecessary expenses. There is something to be said about privacy and a proper soft bed, don't you think?
[Yes, bed singular.]

[Still, while he suspects that this agreement isn't going to last for long... Dimitri appreciates the peace he does have for the time being. He'll take this train talk.]
There is, although - well, I have heard that the train is the quickest way to Kanto, where there are other gyms. It is apparently necessary to go against them, if one wishes to challenge the very best trainers in these two lands.
So I have been thinking that we may very well have to go on it eventually... But, well, our traveling group is rather large, and sometimes only ever seems to grow larger.
[Can you believe it used to be just one feral himbo, a dad, and a child. Dimitri is still coming to terms with it.]
So I have been wondering if perhaps regular tickets would be better... What is it like, being on a train? There is no such thing in Fodlan yet, after all.

[COAST LIFE, BITCH! But okay, he has to laugh at the comment on certain traveling group getting bigger by the second.] Ah, but what is it that they say? The larger the better? [Wink~
Oh, The Continent does not have this level of technology either! It's been quite an experience! [He puts down his teacup on the table so he can open his hands and ~gesture dramatically~ as waxes poetic on the train.] It pulses with a steady beat! It may be noisier than a horse or a Pokémon, but it is much smoother, too! As gentle as the rocking of a nursing mother, it relaxes you in its metallic yet comfortable arms! No need to keep your eyes on the road and your senses sharp when napping is a real option! You may read, or eat, or even play cards while the most gorgeous scenery passes by! Not to mention the lack of weather inconveniences, besides-
[Dimitri, just stop him already, he can be here all night.]

[But maybe he should speak to Geralt about that. Jaskier was given the role of a breeder, wasn't he? Meanwhile, he thinks Geralt is different...]
[Later. For now, he listens to Jaskier spill wave after waver of words, using such creative terms and sentences that he could never have thought to weave together or connect. It's honestly impressive, now that he's in a better mood for it.]
[....Still, he supposes he should probably interrupt, if only with a question.]
The noise of the train is not a bother, whether to recreation or sleep?
no subject
[Look, as a musician, he feels obliged not to complain about the idea of overworld music. Who could be against the idea of having music playing 24/7? But even Jaskier is starting to get tired of it. If he could at least choose the tunes, it would be a completely different deal...]
The routes aren't different from what I'd see in my realm - the sounds of nature are familiar, even if the animal cries differ. But the cities! The cars, the computers, the lights! They never stop! I'd say if you were able to sleep in Goldenrod, then a train won't be a challenge. [Recreation or sleep, huh? He can tackle both.] I've been reading without any issues, and Geralt has been napping - although to be fair, he's using the noise-canceling earbuds I got him on Yule. That said, if you are in need of a second opinion--
[He makes a gesture with his hand to indicate Regina resting on the cushion next to Jaskier's teacup. It seems the Ducklett isn't bothered by the noise, be the train or her trainer's chatter - she's sleeping rather peacefully!]
no subject
[But, frankly, he prefers those constant noises to the one his own head supplies.]
[Another patient and attentive nod as Jaskier describes everything. If he can sleep in Goldenrod, then... Hm.]
That is good to know. Hopefully my companions will think the same, when we eventually take such a journey.
How has Geralt been?
no subject
So Jaskier pouts, and chooses pettiness as usual.]
That's the second time you ask about him. If you wanted to see the view-- [The camera is suddenly raised.] You just had to ask.
[The double bed can be seen on the screen now, with Geralt on it, napping... in just his black underwear, because the train heater is that good. Enjoy!]
no subject
[Dimitri drops Gear, his instinctive reaction when he's startled, so enjoy just that... clattering sound right in the speakers, Jaskier. At least Dimitri is quick to pick it up again.]
Should you be showing that without his permission?
no subject
He showed up on my video first, did he not? [He tilts his head at the camera, grin wide on his face.] Worried about something, Dimitri?
[And now he'll proceed to sip his tea with the most innocent of faces. Sorry (not).]
no subject
I simply... am concerned that it would be somewhat rude. I would not want to infringe on Geralt's privacy.
no subject
[What heat in this winter, you may ask? Yes.]
no subject
[what did he do to deserve this]
[Dimitri looks positively pained as he stares into the camera.]
...I am being polite.
