"Oh." It seems silly in retrospect to be surprised, considering the reason he came to find Grant in the first place. But he is.

"I...don't really know what dating all the same people makes us to each other."

Grant responds with a good-natured shrug. "I don't either, actually... I'm sure there's a word for it, but hell if I know. So I guess we're just... acquaintances who're dating the same people."

Yeah, he's not sure they could really be considered "friends" just yet, and Felix doesn't seem like the type to use the word loosely to begin with. He just hopes that... maybe they could be friends, eventually.

"Fair enough." Felix leans against the corridor wall to wait for Grant to produce whatever it is he's going to produce, and to open the envelope.

Fortunately, it doesn't take Grant too long to dig out what he's looking for: A small teal gift bag, packed with a bit of tissue paper to keep its contents from spilling out. He hands that to Felix before opening up the envelope.

"Oh! This is a, uh, TM, right?" Which... probably goes to show how little he's used those before. Which is to say, he hasn't, he just knows other people in the group have.

Felix takes the bag--oh, Grant even chose an appropriate color, huh--but waits to open it, explaining first.

"It is. It can teach one of your Pokemon a technique for quickly trading places with one of their teammates in battle after an attack. I believe your Butterfree and your Furfrou are both capable of learning it. I recall that you were...troubled, when Truffle fell during our training session."

Grant brightens up just a little further; he was already grateful, certainly, for what was doubtless gonna be a pretty useful gift, but knowing what it does and why Felix opted for this particular TM just adds to that.

"That's... really thoughtful, thank you! I hadn't really thought to use these things before now, but... well, obviously they're bound to be pretty useful, huh."

"Indeed. If you ever intend to challenge a gym or battle other trainers to earn coin, the ability for your team to demonstrate unexpected capabilities and use techniques of multiple types could be the difference between a win and a loss."

Satisfied, he opens the bag in his hand and peers inside, moving tissue paper around until he finds the three things inside. He pulls out the note first and reads it. By the time he gets to the end, he's blinking at the paper. Lucky to know him? Why? ...and because Grant isn't from Fodlan, Felix knows it has nothing to do with trying to curry favor with the nobility, or any such nonsense. He doesn't know the heir to House Fraldarius. He only knows Felix.

Without looking Grant in the eye, he clears his throat, deciding he'll just...fail to address that second part of the note. "This is a thoughtful gift, too. Thank you. I...may ask for your assistance with this...code."

Sure, Felix has learned how to navigate Staryutube and texting and everything, but the internet at large is still something he's adjusting to, and he doesn't have much motivation to surf the web often.

"Yeah! That's gonna be a big help."

He'll stand by quietly while Felix reads the note, which... is a little awkward, he's realizing, that's a downside of delivering this in person.

A significant upside, however, is the sweet, sweet validation of Felix apparently liking what Grant got him. (And he doesn't mind that Felix is opting not to comment on the sappier elements of that note; that's not much of a surprise, really.) "I'm glad you like it! And, no problem - just lemme know whenever you want to use it."
