He's got no idea how long Sylvain was gone for from his point of view, what might have happened in that time - something is clearly wrong, that's for sure, and there are so many possible reasons for that, it seems so petty to be realizing at the same moment that Sylvain wouldn't have seen Grant at all in that time, and he's been so unsure for so long about how their relationship compared to Sylvain's with the others--
Shit. No, no. Don't think about that. There's so much more that's more important right now, like whatever Sylvain did experience back in his own world. And like Chip.
Grant's already gotten enough of a look at Sylvain to shake his head hurriedly at that question, with a weak smile that he can only hope is reassuring. He's not optimistic, given that he suspects he might actually be tearing up now. It's not that he doesn't want Sylvain's company, of course, but...] No-- you should... should stay here and rest, I'll go look for them.
[He fumbles to finish pulling his coat on - he's still just got one sleeve on, that's not very effective.] I'll, uh... if I can't find them on my own, I'll text the others, so... don't worry about telling them unless someone asks, okay?

Yeah, okay. I'll keep things held down here.
[Sylvain, of course, is the last person that should be holding anything down. They both know that. But lying to himself helps a little, at least.]
They'll be okay. Chip, I mean. You'll find them.
aand wrapped :'D
[Ooooh yeah. But he's pretty sure Sylvain is perfectly cognizant of his own state, and arguing with how he chooses to phrase his assurance that he's staying put doesn't sound even remotely productive, so.
Grant takes another step toward the door, his coat on properly, and then hesitates to look to Sylvain again.]
...Thank you. [Again.] I'm-- I'm really glad you're back.
[And he darts out the door, pushing everything else in his head aside. That can all wait until he knows where his kid is.]
