Thank you, I've got Sooty and Socks looking for their scent but I think they're having trouble with all the scents in town - I'm gonna check around the edge of town and they might have an easier time picking a scent out there if Chip did leave town.

[He is literally in the middle of typing up something about how, okay, he's pretty sure they're still in Johto, because it sure doesn't seem like people's Pokemon and all their stuff disappear with them when they vanish-- and then Felix messages again, so Grant takes a breath and deletes all that.]

It was because of yesterday, I'm sure of that. Maybe some other stuff too, but yesterday would have been the tipping point.

[Dimitri is kind of busy exchanging his many Pokemon out, but he's trying his best to keep up with the discussion. Just in case. He needs all the information he can have here.]

do you think they woudl have left for olivine? it is nex ton the list for gym badges i think

We'll find them, Grant, don't worry. And they're a smart, capable kid, so I'm sure they'll be just fine when they do. I'm worried about why they left, but we'll deal with that once we've got them back.

[Claude knows it's pointless to tell Grant not to worry, but he also thinks that while practical offers of help are all well and good - and he intends to offer his own, too - the man also needs to hear some reassurance right now.]

Blitz is a fast flier. He and I can fly along the route to Olivine, see if we can find them - or anyone who's seen them pass. I think we can cover ground faster than land travel.

That sounds like a good idea, felix.

[There's a pause while he struggles with how to answer Claude specifically. Grant's got a pretty solid idea himself of why they left, but... it's not something he can explain to everyone else so easily, without Chip's involvement or permission. But, given absolutely everything about Claude, it seems like it'd be unfair to just drop a piece of the situation on him.

In the end, he opts not to say anything just yet.]

I'll move over to that area too and see if Sooty and Socks can pick up a scent there, it does seem most likely that that's where they'd go

Sounds good, Dimitri. I can't see Chip leaving the road or civilization behind entirely unless there's more going on than I know about, but on the off chance they do, that'll mean we can split up once we've confirmed they're not along the route itself. And if they are along the route, then focusing two people's efforts there won't be wasted.

Plus, you're one of Chip's favorite people, so it'll be good for you to be there if we're the ones who find them.

[One nice thing about having been at war for years - you get ready to move out quickly when it's needed. Claude could probably do it in five, but he's giving Dimitri a little extra time if it's needed.]

Felix, if you guys are going to catch us up later, can you bring my stuff from my room? I can't exactly carry it on me. Just pack it on the sled.

sylvain has a huge horse.
it doesn't HAVE to always be rats.

Besides, you can use them together. One team takes over when the other gets tired.
