[Ashe looked down at the book which still had a sizable number of pages left.]

Um...well...

[He started when Ky grabbed the book before Ashe could grab it back.]

Ky! Wait!

[Ky carried it over to Lysithea showing that Ashe was only four pages into a longer chapter. Ashe messed with the end of the bed sheet with a sheepish look on his face. Ky chirped at him with an annoyed expression on his face.]

I was going to be done soon!

[Ky chirped at him again with a shake of his head. Ashe looked over at Lysithea.]

Um, I guess I should sleep now huh?

[ Lysithea leans over to see what the little piplup is showing her before giving Ashe a dry look. ]

Almost done, hm?

[ Immediately, she plucks a bookmark out of her jacket's pocket- it's almost scary how prepared she is- and slides it into the book before giving Ky an appreciative pat. ]

Thank you, Ky. As for you? Yes.

[Ashe stared in disbelief when Ky handed Lysithea his book. The betrayal. Okay, so he probably needed to sleep after taking that medicine, still he didn't have to give her the book! Then the pleased smile when he gets a head pat just digs the knife in deeper.

For the first time in a long time Ashe gave a small pout as he inched under the covers. He's not used to being the one who has to take a break. He's used to pushing through to make sure his siblings have everything the needed even if he had a sniffle he would make some tea, eat some soup, and push through it. It's not like he could do that now with how bad he was feeling.]

For how long? What if I need some water?

[Ashe isn't going to look at the pointed stare Ky is giving him right now.]

Hmm... I could leave Chiffon in here with you. She's very good at helping, you see. Ky could also come get my attention should you need anything.

But you will stay in bed for the duration of your recovery time unless it is to go to the bathroom or stretch if you think you can do so safely. ... Ky, please make sure he doesn't act rashly on this permission.

[ Sometimes you need to set a penguin as your enforcer. ]

[Ashe wasn't used to being the one in bed. Many times he's the one who has to help his siblings or friends into bed. Even when he was really tired he still pushed through to make sure they were alright. Now he has to be the one in bed and he doesn't know how to handle it! But between his book being gone and Ky's sudden, shocking betrayal it looked like he really didn't have much of a choice.

Ashe looked between Chiffon, Lysithea, and Ky who nodded at Lysithea with a determined look on his face. He knows that Ky wouldn't let him off the hook that easy either. He slid his fingers through his hair with a sigh.]

Alright I'll get some rest. [It's not like he had much of a choice. Ashe settled in bed as he glared at Ky who glared at him back. However, that caused him to use a little too much energy. He quickly closed his eyes with a small groan.]

Are you sure about Chiffon? What if you need something?

Indeedee are capable pokemon, and very handy to have around. But I've gotten this far without her, so I think I can spare her for a day or two.

[ Even as she speaks, she's sure to pet Chiffon's head though. She knows that the indeedee takes pride in her position at Lysithea's side, after all, but this is a very intense duty that she would trust no others with.

With a slight giggle, Lysithea moves to adjust his blankets as she remembers her mother doing so long ago. ]

You be good now, okay, Ashe?

Alright, if you don't mind, welcome Chiffon.

[Ashe gave Chiffon a small smile to the Indeedee. Well, Ky wouldn't mind having someone to help him. How can a penguin look so smug?

Ashe pushed that out of his mind and settled under the covers.]

Okay, I'll stay in bed this time.

[Between Chiffon, Ky, and his exhaustion how could he leave? Besides, maybe it wouldn't be so bad to rest. It's not like he has a battle meeting to go to or an army to train. He could take the time to relax.]

Um...thanks.

[Ashe did appreciate Lysithea's help even if he's ignoring Ky for the moment. How could he focus on his smug penguin when Lysithea's giggle lingered in his hazy mind. He can't remember the last time he heard it. It was really cute...

He did feel warm, though he's sure it's not his fever making him warm now.
