I've been told my taste is rather... old fashioned. [ Which, it is. Fantasy Europe, after all. ] I was always fond of the roast pheasant that the monastery served.

[She thinks about that. It's not something her Dad would cook, mainly because it wasn't widely available - and yeah, definitely old fashioned from what Jane knows. Still, she thinks, and thinks...]

I suppose you could try out...the equivalent of roast chicken here? Or, there is the meatless alternative that looks and works like chicken when you cook it. That usually tastes pretty close, too.
