Hi everybody, it's Korra, your friendly local lifeguard and wilderness ranger!
[Currently back on the islands, her little blue beach house is visible in the background.]
Since it's coming to that time of year when massive hordes of tourists descend on the islands, I've been working on my educational speeches for visitors on vacation. And I figured I'd try it out here first! So here goes.
[A clearing of her throat.]
Welcome to the island, I'd like to remind everybody of things you should not do while visiting the shores and forests of Sevii.
Don't throw rocks at Pokemon. Or trash. Or food that's not for Pokemon. Absolutely don't throw any glowsticks or bottles of alcohol. Just don't throw anything but pokeballs in the places it's allowed to catch Pokemon.
Don't smoke inside dead hollowed out trees. That's how you set yourself on fire.
If something is steaming, don't touch it. That means it's hot. Especially if it's water. Did you know people can boil up just like a potato? Not a fun experience.
Don't try and ride random wild Pokemon. Or put fun props on them.
Again, I can't stress this enough, do not throw rocks at wild Pokemon.
Don't wander off the trails alone, there are trails for a reason.
Don't skinny dip at public beaches.
If you need the bathroom...use a bathroom. Not the beach.
Do. Not. Throw rocks. At. Pokemon.
[Korra takes a deep breath after getting that out.]
So that's my speech this year for tourists, I think I covered everything...

It's okay, a little rock-focused though, gotta say. If you lay it on too thick folks are gonna think you're tryin' to use reverse psychomocology or something.
[Squint.]
Do you do radio? I think I heard you before.
Radio? Nope. I'm around on the Network, you've probably heard me here.

[He blows out an annoyed sigh at the thought.]
I guess? I'unno, nevermind.
I mean you also sound kind of familiar? I've been here like forever.

Mayhap you ought to dispense with the warnings and let the problem sort itself out.
[Who's liability, we don't know her.]

Or fix it when it does.

There's plenty of people who are great, love to see them, they know the islands they know the rules. But then there's the...others. Like the people who assume that since they have a domesticated variant of one of the Pokemon here, they're experts and can interact with them in the wild!
That usually doesn't go great.

[Good job he's too chicken to actually test that theory.]

They absolutely can.
Not that I've ever seen it happen here, but it's physically possible.

Are you sure...? Humans are tougher than potatoes. Right?

There's a reason boiling water isn't safe to touch.

[He's an islander. Riku knows how pet contaminants can screw with the shorelines. Thankfully, most people know better.]
People should also remember that garbage cans and recycle bins exist. If you're a ways off from one, just... bring smaller bags you can dispose of later. Don't just dump empty bottles out where clueless Pokemon can find them.

I've honestly given up on the littering, I just do a clean up walk every evening and morning.
sorry 'bout the lateness- been dealing with a lotta stuff x_x
Guess we kinda lucked out back home. When you grow up on an island, you get a lot more respect for it than some random tourists, I think. ...even if I was always in a big hurry to get away.
No worries!

Who's throwing rocks at Pokemon? Do I have to head out there to beat people up?
[After she's done with the Elite Four, anyway.]

[She'd like to punch some jerks who hurt Pokemon.]

[Heather here, asking the important questions.]

I don't get paid enough.

Some people, anyway. Not everybody. But enough that a clear listing of basic rules is needed.

[ .....Says the one that has 0 manners in his speech. ]
voice;
But a handful of jerks is all it takes to need disclaimers and specific rules.
